Easter Weekend FOTD Featuring CoverFX, Cle de Peau and Vintage Dior Sunglasses

Above: Products for a fresh, springtime look.
Happy Easter and Passover weekend, lovelies!  In light of the inherent beauty of the next couple of days, I wanted to share a fresh look, brimming with neutrals and corals for an unexpected take on the radiance of springtime.  Although I employed the use of some favorite products (from By Terry, Burberry and Surratt Beauty), I also included some new finds, namely the Cover FX Custom Coverage DropsNapoleon Perdis Nude U. Palette and some freshly-procured vintage Dior sunglasses!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Above: Neutrals with a pop of coral…always a delight.
Products for the Look:

Above: My own foundation alchemy.
The Cover FX Custom Coverage Drops are an intriguing enterprise.  Shade N 25 is suitable for my NC 23-35 skin now but I will definitely need to bump up to N 30 soon.  This concentrated formula comes in a secure bottle with a dropper that allows the user to carefully control how much product is dispensed.  I found that two drops, mixed with my Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil created a glowy, medium to full coverage foundation that makes the skin look like porcelain.  The foundation is delightfully unscented and the fact that it is customizable will be an appealing element for those seeking maximum adaptability.  I will continue to experiment with mixing agents and weigh back in after I’ve had more experience with the formula!

What it is:

A dropper with concentrated pigments for convenient customization of any product in your beauty regimen, allowing you to control the level of coverage.

What it does:
From a sheer tint to total coverage, Custom Cover Drops lets you achieve your desired coverage. Blend it with anything liquid to create your desired coverage, including moisturizers, serums, oils, primers, foundations, and tinted moisturizers that are water-, oil-, or silicone-based. These revolutionary drops feature Flash Fusion Technology™, so as soon as you drop, it leaves behind pigment that weightlessly transforms your favorite beauty product into the sheerest tint or a total coverage foundation. Simply adjust your coverage by the number of drops you add. The pigments are coated with lecithin, which is biochemically similar to the skin, to ensure seamless blending, precise control, and the smoothest application.

The Cover Fx drops sound awesome! I think it's nice that they came out with a product that you can customize, I bet a lot of makeup artist would find that handy. Love the lip shade on you 🙂 it looks like the perfect peachy pink shade for spring.

That's awesome that the CoverFX Custom Cover Drops play nice with your Sisley face oil!

The new foundation piqued my interest when I noticed all 5 star reviews out of the first 35ish on the sephora website and I noticed 1) many reviewers mentioned a little goes a long way and 2) more than one reviewer was fond of mixing the drops with a primer alone.

I was wondering how the CoverFX CCDs would get along with my La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Nutritive Oil (a hydrating, VERY HIGH PPD – i.e. preemptive antiaging – sunscreen that doesn't leave white streaks since it's clear), and your review was rather persuasive in getting me to seek out a sample.

      Hello Tequila!

They do indeed make a perfect pairing.

Your observations on this foundation formula per the Sephora website are correct…I was shocked by how little was necessary for full coverage!

I can't wait to hear what you think about this foundation with your sunscreen oil (I'm intrigued!)…do keep me posted!

Hi BP! You look beautiful in those pics! I saw the announcement about the CoverFX drops a while ago, and have been very intrigued. How do you think it compares to the Ardency Inn?

    Thanks!

      Hi Anon,

Thank you ever so much! I find that the purpose is quite the same but since the consistency is so different, it will all come down to the finish you prefer. The CoverFX is thin and makes skin like porcelain and the Ardency Inn is a bit thicker and skin looks smooth and slightly dewy (and lasts longer).

      I hope that helps…xx,

Thanks, BP! I may just stick with the Ardency Inn, as long lasting is definitely what I look for in a base…

    Hi Rachel,
this lipstick color makes your eye color pop! Stunning look for you. These sunglasses!
I am very curiouse about the new Cover FX foundation, but the color theme makes me really confused…I need this blush in my collection, it could be THE right color for me, I am pretty shure.

      Hi Susanne,

Thank you so much!!! I am thrilled that I came upon the sunglasses ; )

The shades in the Cover FX lines can be tricky if you cannot see them in person…the blush, however, is a must, indeed!

Love to you from the USA,

Hi, thanks for the great reviews and swatches, as always. Could I ask how many drops of the Sisley oil do you mix with the two drops of Cover FX? Many thanks.

      Hi Anne

My pleasure! In response to your question, I used 2 drops of Sisley Oil and 2 drops of the Cover FX which created MORE than enough formula to cover my entire face with a medium-full effect.

      Hope that helps…xx,

    Hello Pretty!
Would you recommend the Cover FX Custom Cover or the Dior Nude Air?

    April 16, 2015 at 5:52 pm

      Hello!

Both foundations are lovely but if you are not a fan of strongly fragranced formulas, then I would recommend the Cover FX. The Dior Nude Air is very heavily fragranced!

      Hope that helps…xx,
