Guerlain Terracotta Gloss in Sable…Summertime Shine

This picture heavy post is an homage to Guerlain’s Terracotta Gloss in #01 Sable.  Since the end of my teaching semester and start of summer is merely weeks away, my gravitation towards summertime makeup is unavoidable.  During the summer months, I tend to covet makeup that is warm, shimmery and nude in tone to complement the easygoing nature of the summertime.  I recently picked up this little gem in preparation for an upcoming trip to Palm Beach, Florida and am loving wearing it in the meanwhile!

According to Nordstrom’s website, the Guerlain Terracotta Gloss, which retails for $31.00, can be explained as follows:

Guerlain’s lipgloss is light and creamy, melt-away and comfortable, delicious and not sticky; truly the ideal texture for summer lips. At the heart of this comforting formula, Marula oil moisturizes and regenerates, while the antioxidant complex and SPF 15 protection index shield the lips. Terracotta Gloss colours are specially developed to enhance, revive and revitalize a tan, while providing warmth and light. This concentrate of sparkle and radiance creates a smile that seems warmed by a ray of sunlight to compliment a glowing tan. Its unprecedented ergonomic applicator transforms each application into a true moment of pleasure.

Is it beige? Bronze? Nude pink? Shimmery? Creamy? I can confirm that this gloss is all of these things and more!

Guerlain’s Terracotta Gloss in #01 Sable alone on the lips…this pearly pale bronze nude pink sheen is reminiscent of all things summer!

I have found that this gloss is not at all sticky, lasts for a reasonable amount of time (2-3 hours), looks marvelous alone or over another lip color (layering this over pale pinks is exceptionally flattering), has a very subtle scent, possesses no unpleasant taste and does a remarkable job of adding creamy summertime sheen to my daily experience!

You are right, Julie…I recently found this out and guess I will have to savor what is left of my tube! Such a pity because it is quite a versatile color and looks good on so many skin tones.

      Take care,
