Beauty Rarities for Rare Times Featuring Beboe Therapies and New SUQQU Base + Lips

Beboe Therapies

I started testing the Beboe Therapies line back in late July and wanted to spend a minimum of six weeks of proper skincare trial before weighing in on my experience. The brand, which is impeccably packaged, features a range of four products. These products adeptly integrate premium active botanical ingredients with the healing properties of CBD for a unparalleled balance of efficacy and skin restoration. The products are paraben-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, mineral oil-free, synthetic fragrance-free and THC-free (read: won’t get you high). The formulas play well with sensitive skin while delivering a dose of hydration for healthy skin that glows.
I have concluded that Beboe Therapies isn’t CBD with some skincare ingredients tossed in, but, rather, bonafide skincare that is further fortified with the beneficial properties of CBD…that unique dynamic is evident in every single drop!

CBD Serum

The first formula I tried was the *Beboe Therapies High Potency CBD Serum (also available at Revolve and Neiman Marcus reviewed HERE). I brought it with me on a desert trip. I was immediately stunned by the way it calmed and nourished my overheated and dry skin.
Just a few drops after cleansing and my canvas was prepared for the sunscreen and makeup to come. The lightweight oil absorbs immediately, by the way. I was so impressed by its effortless performance. It’s bouncy, even skin with a soft radiance! Also, I had my mom try it one evening. Her redness and inflammation from a day spent in 105 degree weather were diminished by morning. She promptly asked if she could “borrow” a few more drops for the day ahead.

Why I Use It

I love using the *Beboe Therapies High Potency CBD Serum as a standalone moisturizer and anti-aging treatment and, to this day, my mom does as well. The serum is rich yet melds into my skin in mere moments, providing hydration while combatting any signs of redness. It contains potent natural ingredients including Rosehip Oil, Squalene and Pomegranate Seed Oil to encourage collagen production, fight fine lines and quell blemishes while adding a subtle golden illumination that is preternaturally pretty.  There is also something unmistakably calming about the application process…my skin looks better while I get to indulge in a peaceful and sensorial experience. It truly is the best of both worlds.

From a scientific standpoint, CBD is fascinating. Over the last few weeks of research, I’ve learned that our skin naturally has receptors for cannabinoids (the chief components in CBD) that work to accept and apply the benefits of CBD-based products when our skin is in need. The ingredient is especially effective to reduce inflammation, which is often the root of much of the discomfort and imbalance that our skin can sustain.

The Science of CBD

Additionally, CBD can help to maximize our skin’s own ability to respond and repair itself when faced with stressors including dryness, heat, irritation and cellular damage. Consider it a “booster” for our skin’s optimal function rather than a singular remedy; this is exactly why, when at the proper purity level and concentration, it is an excellent addition to other skincare ingredients.

Like many individuals I know, I battle with sore muscles and joints regularly. I can’t blame these aches and pains on being a college athlete (I wasn’t) or excessively working out (I consider 50 daily crunches a major physical accomplishment) but I did take a pretty intense fall down a flight of stairs last year and am still recovering from intermittent shoulder and knee pain. Couple that with carrying a 30 lb. two-year old baby girl all over the place and I can fairly confidently identify the source of my soreness.

Body Balm

Enter, the *Beboe Therapies Body Balm (also available at Revolve and Neiman Marcus). Since I try not to take ibuprofen or the like unless nothing else will do, I am always on the search for more natural ways of ameliorating body aches. This velvety balm–rife with Sea Buckthorn Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E–melts into skin, providing moisture and, with time, a soothing relief from discomfort. I love to focus application on my knees, shoulders and neck, taking time to gently massage it into my skin; when time permits, I even integrate a roller (like the ReFa 4 Carat) for deeper delivery. My husband, who suffers from chronic back pain but deals with it via epidurals (yes, men can have them, too!) and homeopathic remedies also uses the balm with great success.
Not to be conflated with a traditional analgesic, the *Beboe Therapies Body Balm doesn’t promise to cancel the sensation of all pain, however, in my experience, it definitely takes the edge off, helping aches to fade into the background naturally and making it a must for anyone who finds themself sustaining physical discomfort from workouts, injuries, strain and the like.

SUQQU newness for Fall 2020.
Next,  SUQQU has three exciting new launches for fall that I am over the moon to be able to show you in action.

SUQQU Foundation

The *SUQQU The Cream Foundation has received a reformulation with a beautiful array of shade extensions for deeper skin tones. This plush and moisturizing formula was the very first SUQQU product that I ordered sight unseen early on in BP history and I have been a devotee to SUQQU bases since then. This cream formula offers buildable medium to full coverage (a little goes a long way) with a natural skin finish that lasts all day…it’s good skin in a jar and I’ve found great matches for my NC 27-30 skin in both 035 (my match for most of the year) and 040 (at my post-summer darkest). A pea-sized amount is all I need for super even skin and I use either a beauty sponge or the *SUQQU Foundation Brush for smooth and seamless application.

SUQQU Concealer

Additionally, the *SUQQU Intense Cover Concealer has arrived, offering extra thin yet formidable full coverage correction that blithely blends into a second skin effect while resisting creasing. I have tried it on both my under eye darkness and a blemish. It’s one of those formulas that performs superbly for both objectives. This, my friends, is rare as most concealers I use work well only for one or the other. My matches are 15 and 16 both wonderful for N/NC 25-30 skin. I’ve even tried wearing just the concealer in place of foundation with great success. Tutorial to come!

SUQQU Lipstick

Finally, for lips, the *SUQQU Comfort Lip Fluid Fog Liquid Lipstick and *SUQQU Comfort Lip Fluid Glow Liquid Lipstick are glorious options. The liquid color payoff is stunningly potent while feeling wildly lightweight on the lips.
The Fog formula features a demi-matte finish that somehow still imparts a soft glow that makes lips look velvety and voluminous. I received the universally flattering muted red tone 01 and peachy rose 04 and both instantly brighten the complexion while moisturizing the lips for hours on end.
The Glow formula possess equally vibrant color with a shine finish that also has a touch of luminosity. I received the true yet muted red 01 (demonstrated on my Instagram Reels HERE) and coral pink 03 (hands down my favorite and worn in the images at the end of this post) and am thrilled with the hydration, comfort, intensity and lasting power. Simply brilliant!
I’ve been testing these for the past week and every time I wear them either on social media or in person, someone asks what’s on my lips…this, my friends, is the sign of an excellent lip color formula. Try them and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

// THE COMPLETE FACE ETC.// Rare and Luxurious Selections to Complement the Look.

*Kosas The Sun Show Bronzer in Medium (reviewed HERE)

For the look below, I blended this semi-luminous bronzer along the hollows of my cheeks. Also in the perimeters of my face for a burnished and multidimensional effect.

*Veronique Gabai The Goldie Highlighter (also available at Liberty London)

This cream highlight stick is such a find! Equal parts gilded glow and a cellophane “wet” look. With just a touch on the high points of my face makes me look lit from within. Even though it’s from a fragrance house, it is refreshingly fragrance-free and ever so resplendent in the sunlight. I can’t wait to experiment with my samples!

*Aether Beauty Rose Quartz Crystal Gemstone Palette

Clean ingredients including coconut oil, rose hip oil and actual rose quartz powder. These harmonize to create buttery smooth shadows in the loveliest rosy neutral tones. The palette of 12 hues features matte, shimmer, satin and metallic finishes that blend with ease while resisting creasing. I focused on the rose gold and amethyst shades for a radiantly modern take on a nude eye.

*SUQQU Brown Brow Mascara

Just a bit of this brunette tone swept through my brows adds feathery fullness and hold…it’s a daily go-to.

*Jouer Lip Liner in Pink Champagne (reviewed HERE)

I love this waterproof liner to gently shape. That is probably why I have one on my vanity. I also have one in my makeup bag and one on back-up…it’s that good.

*Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in Black

Always on my water line, this ultra-black pencil glides on with ease and doesn’t budge.

*EM Cosmetics Pick Me Up Mascara (reviewed HERE)

Two coats on my lashes leave them long and voluminous while resisting creasing. The fact that it’s tubing makes smudging a non-issue and removal a breeze.

*BY TERRY Hyaluronic Pressed Powder (reviewed HERE)

I love this completely translucent powder in my t-zone to blur pores and fine lines. It does this while keeping everything in place. It’s a modern classic for a reason!

*Parfums de Marly Delina (reviewed HERE)

Fresh and intriguing, this fragrance has simply “felt right” this week, lifting my mood and spirts in a single spritz.

*Augustinus Bader The Body Lotion

More fluid and lightweight than the previously released body cream, this formula masterfully hydrates skin while increasing bounce and elasticity. I focus application on my arms, legs and décolleté post-shower to lock moisture in.

*Masami Mekabu Shine Serum

I added a drop of this opulent serum into my second day. My freshly brushed hair and couldn’t believe how glassy and shiny it made it! Beyond its nourishing ingredients, it also smells divine. This is my first foray into this luxe haircare line and I cannot wait to try more products in the coming days.

Style notes.

// STYLE NOTES //

  • Ditsy Floral Corset Top: Captivated by the classic corset styling of this blouse, I promptly ordered it and am in love with the floral pattern, full sleeves and cloth-covered button detailing. The top is currently on sale for under $30 and is well worth it…wish it came in other colors!
  • Frame Le Original Jeans: Frame makes my favorite jeans and the Le Original has always been my preferred cut. These are extra high waisted (to hold everything in). It features a relaxed straight leg that is slightly cropped to showcase footwear. They are truly timeless…this particular pair runs a touch small so size up 1-2 sizes for an optimum fit.
  • *Millie Mule (also available HERE): Lightweight leather with just the right amount of neutral sheen, these ultra-comfortable mules feel so apropos for the summer-fall transition. They run true to size (I’m wearing a size 7/ 37 1/2) and require zero need to break in.
