Happy weekend! I have been referencing this impending skincare routine update for the last few weeks and am happy to finally have the post come to fruition. To put this process into proper context, as a beauty blogger, I am privileged to try a host of products on any given day; while this is heaven for a lover of all things beauty, putting absolutely everything on my face the moment it arrives is clearly not prudent, especially for one with extremely sensitive skin. Additionally, skincare trials are tricky…I am of the belief that one must always give due diligence to the testing period, preferably four to six weeks of consistent use when possible, before officially weighing in on the efficacy of a new routine.
That being said, I also relish the chance to mention new products in my rotation–especially masks, cleansers and sunscreens–on both BP and Instagram to maintain dialogue on the relentless flow of interesting releases. Consequently, some of my skincare posts are more “in the moment” (e.g., here are my initial thoughts on this but more testing is necessary) while others, especially those involving my “routine,” are the culmination of weeks of carefully-monitored experience. This brings me the brilliant Mila Moursi line (available at Barney’s NY and Space.NK) I first reviewed the body care from this streamlined, luxe brand HERE and was thrilled at the opportunity of trying a specialized regimen from the line, selected just for my skin type and concerns.

In order to determine the correct products for my “ritual” (a term Mila Moursi uses to signify the nearly sacred need to suitably care for one’s skin), I took a “skin quiz” on the Mila Moursi site and identified that I am most concerned with anti-aging skincare for normal to combination skin. In turn, the products selected for me were:
(1) *Mila Moursi Cleansing Foam (also available at Space.NK)……a silky cleanser that removes all traces of dirt and makeup while leaving the skin feeling hydrated and balanced. I use this morning and night!
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Laureth Sulfoacetate, Glyceryl Monostearate SE, Stearic Acid, Prunus Armeniaca, (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trepenone, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide 7, Distinctive Phytostem Buddleja Davidii Meristem Cell Culture, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, 1, 2 Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Bisabolol, Fragrance (Parfum).
(2)*Mila Moursi pH Balancing Toner (also available at Space.NK)…I follow this with two sprays of the clarifying toner which further balances out my skin and prepares the pores to accept the skincare to come.
Ingredients: Water, Tridecyl Isononanoate, Sodium Lactate, Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Propanediol, Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trepenone, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide 7, Distinctive Phytostem Buddleja Davidii Meristem Cell Culture, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isoceteth-3 Acetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Citrate, Allantoin, 1,2 Hexandiol, Caprylyl Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Hexylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-25 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polysorbate 20, Octoxynol-12, Menthyl Lactate, Mentha Haplocalix Extract, Fragrance (Parfum).
(3)*Mila Moursi Dual Action Serum (also available at Space.NK)…I then apply a single pump of this skin-nourshing, silky serum (both day and night); my skin loves it and it is absorbed immediately. In terms of the effect, my skin is smoother, brighter and younger looking (fine lines plump up upon contact) and, because this serum encourages a gentle form of cell turnover, the glow of fresh, more youthful skin is apparent each morning.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Iris Florentina Root Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Rhodendron Ferrufineum Leaf Cell Culture Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Phytate, Sodium Hyaluronte, Lactic Acid, Lecithin, Isomalt, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Laureth-7, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isopraffin, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Mica, and Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).
(4) *Mila Moursi Rejuvenating Serum (also available at Space.NK)…finally, I rotate between the Dual Action Serum and this equally potent formula to keep my skin on its toes. Designed to plump up hollows, crevices and fine lines on the face, this serum is remarkably effective for giving skin a more youthful appearance.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, PVP, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, PEG-8-Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trepenone, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide 7, Distinctive Phytostem Buddleja Davidii Meristem Cell Culture, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, 1,2 Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sclerotium Gum, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate.

- Skincare should be simple and consistent…product usage should be kept to a minimum for efficacy.
- Skincare should feel like a sacred ritual…take your time and enjoy the experience.
- Many individuals are overdoing their skincare routine by using too many products in any given period of time and their skin is being clogged by this excess; this can result in tired, puffy looking skin.
- Mila’s serums are also designed to be used on the orbital area but should be pat on carefully, about a centimeter away from lashes because all face products have the ability to migrate; additonally, they can be applied to the neck and decollete for benefits below the face!
