Happy Friday, lovelies! Today’s provides an image-heavy encounter with the Tom Ford 2016 Soleil Collection, which, incidentally, is pure bliss. From the white lacquered packaging to the lush hues housed within, the products (currently available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks and Sephora) are effortlessly wearable and endlessly beautiful.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…
From lip color and eyeshadow to fragrance and bronzer, I have had a ball integrating the spring and summer Tom Ford releases into my regular routine…the saturated colors have invited me to stray from my comfort zone while still feeling suitable for everyday wear.
Le Mepris (also reviewed HERE) is a super-flattering coral-meets-red…this will be my summer shade.
Aphrodite is a lovely, cool-toned fuchsia pink
Temptation Waits is a rich russet brown that looks almost like a deep berry plum on the lips…so unique.
The Ultra-Rich Lip Color formula is extremely hydrating, intensely-pigemented and impressively long-lasting. It has a touch of shine (more than the TF traditional cream formula) but more opacity than the sheer versions. The formula feels weightless on the lips and has just enough slip for easy, forgiving, relatively imprecise application, even on the go! I hope that Tom Ford continues to release new shades in this particular formula (baby pink, nude beige!) as I will continue to be a fan.
Terra is a muted light tan with no perceptible shimmer.
Gold Dust is a luminous tan (slightly warmer than Terra) with gorgeous, finely-milled gold flecks.
Bronze Age is rich, warm medium bronze with a soft, satin matte finish.
The formula applies smoothly and blends like a dream…I can wear all three shades with my light-medium NC 25 skin and rotate based on the desired look. Terra is fantastic for a light wash of color and when I want a bit of glow, I reach for Gold Dust. Due to its depth, I am confident that I will be reaching for Bronze Age all summer as my skin invariably takes on a touch of color.
Both shades are stunning neutrals that I have relished using for the past year (Golden Peach review HERE and Naked Bronze review HERE). The cream formula has insanely good color-payoff and doesn’t crease or migrate over the course of wear. The shimmering powder shadow sets the cream and adds an additional lustre that masterfully stays in place (no fallout!) for incandescent eyes that seamlessly translate from day to night.
Retractable (no need for a sharpener!) and intensely opaque, they nimbly glide onto even the most sensitive areas of the orbital zone (like the waterline) and are completely indelible once they set. I wear the obsidian Black shade on my lower waterline almost daily and marvel at how kind the formula is to my sensitive, contact lens-wearing eyes. In the images at the end of the post, I experimented with the sky blue Azure shade (once again, along the lower waterline) and love how it provides a pop of color that still works well with neutral eye shadow selections.
Truly, this is one of the best eyeliner formulas on the market!
With notes of amber and coconut that instantly call to mind a sunbaked paradise, both elixirs artfully capture the luxurious leisure of summer; clean, comely and captivating, they are utterly beguiling.
Good things ahead, including a foundation intensive and a host of new product procurements…I am also in the midst of addressing your latest batch of lovely comments and emails; )
It truly doesn't budge, at least on my eyes!! Even washing the swatches off of my arm proved challenging! I find that it is similar to the MJB Hi-Liner if a touch less soft (which I prefer).
Everything looks so stunning! I just have one question Rachel–does the Soleil Blanc Shimmer Oil smell the same as the 2015 Shimmer Oil? I loved the 2015 version with the sandalwood notes, and used it up halfway, but I will get the Soleil Blanc if it's different just to change things up! Thank YOU!!!
Thanks so much, Monica! With regards to your question, I wish I could tell you for sure but I didn't get the oil last year. All I can say for certain is it smells divine and very similar to the Soleil Blanc fragrance!

Does the TF eyeliner really not smudge or budge around the waterline? How does it compare to Marc Jacobs' pencil eyeliner?

Hope that helps…xx,

Fashion Island here I come!
I am going to check out the eyeliners even though the price is terrible! Lol. Thank you Beauty Professor!
Exellent, Judi…yes, the price is up there but the performance is commensurate with the cost! Also, I LOVE not having to sharpen them.
