Go figure – my alarm didn't go off this morning, the first time that's happened in eons, woke up an hour and a half later than usual and had to do the five minute makeup application. I watched your video last night and it didn't hurt that I use a lot of the same products as you do. It definitely gave me the boost to apply it all in FAR less time than I normally do! Though five minutes is definitely doable, I hope not to be repeating this in the near future!!
That is fantastic, Intotemptation…I love your story and have lived it more times than I can count!! Thank you for sharing…it truly brought a smile to my face ; )
Which products do we have in common? What are some of your favorites? I agree…if I have more than 5 minutes in my morning, I definitely prefer taking my time…it just doesn't happen very often!!

i usually only manage 5 or so minutes for makeup, if at all! haha, i'm a terrible fail of a girl lol. I think sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to put on foundation and mascara, haha! 🙂 it seems i can only manage 2-3 products in that much time! but anyways you look gorgeous! i'm impressed with how the tom ford shade & illuminate looks on you – the color never seems right for me, but i'll have to go take another look for sure! and yay for tom ford lipstick! I have nude vanille and haven't tried it yet, but i just love the pink combo you have on your lips! I hope you make more videos! 🙂
Excellent! No fail at all…honestly, if I had to pick two products to focus on solely, it would be foundation and mascara! Thanks for your sweet words…I am so pleased with the TF compact; it took me a few tries to not look like a Halloween experiment, but with a light hand, it really does make a difference. You must try again ; ) I can't believe you own Nude Vanille and haven't tried it yet…as soon as I get a new product, it is all I can do to keep from immediately tearing open the package like a four year old and applying whatever it is. I have, however, had to exercise a bit more restraint in the past year since every new product is a potential blog post, and pictures of it unsullied and unused are always more aesthetically pleasing for the reader : ) Thanks for the video encouragement! I am working on getting better in this medium!
Take care and talk soon…xoxo,

I loved the video, too. I'd never heard your voice. Did I hear you use the word "aforementioned"? Big points with me. 🙂
I use different products, but basically the same types of products as you do. And I know I can get a full face on in about 5 minutes–I'll have to pay attention next time. I think what really helps is experimenting to find out which products are the true workhorses. Once you've honed it down to those, you know you can get it all on your face and have it last through most of the day.
Thanks for the sweet comment, RawAlmonds (I love almonds by the way…what is the inspiration behind your online moniker?)!
I think I did indeed say "aforementioned" and am flattered beyond belief that you noticed ; ) That is fantastic that you can "full face it" in five minutes…it has taken me a lot of practice to streamline my efforts.
You are absolutely right, choosing the most utilitarian products makes all the difference; I am definitely an advocate for makeup that lasts for hours, especially since I rarely get the chance to touch up properly.
What are some of your favorite "workhorses?"

I've used that name for years on many msg. boards, YouTube, etc. It came from a bag of raw almonds I had at my computer one day. So easy!
OK, my workhorses are my primers and sunscreen. I use Skinceuticals Physical Fusion ss. It has a matte finish and is slightly tinted. It can be drying, but I use a moisture lotion from Juju cosmetics (Japanese) before I apply the ss. It gives me moisture without making me greasy at all. I then dab on some Clarins Instant Smooth primer before my foundation.
Other primers I use are Too Faced Shadow insurance on lids, and Elizabeth Arden Lip fix on lips. Truly, when I can get these primers on, everything else goes on in a flash and it looks smooth and lasts.
So that's what I use! Have a wonderful holiday!
Thanks for the lovely story on your name…it's remarkable how simplicity usually turns out to be the best!
I haven't tried anything from the Skinceuticals line yet, but have heard a great deal of good buzz about it. Must investigate! I love Clarins Instant Smooth (I have it in the "pen" form)…such a great optical illusion.
Glad you have found some primers you love…that first step is always so important. Thank you for sharing your products with me!!
Hope your Christmas was amazing…take care and talk soon!!

I used the Metier Peau Vierge (have the large size in the 1 but received the 2 in a travel size and don't find it that much darker, really); the Revlon Whipped Cream Foundation, the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, and his blush in Love Lust, Cle de Peau concealer, the LMDB Flawless Face Kaleidoscope powder to set. I have a few of the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows, but went with the Clarins holiday palette for speed, the new Cover Girl clump free mascara (which is pretty awesome, actually) and Tom Ford Casablanca lipstick. Actually, although the blush in the Flawless Face kit looks an awful lot like the Tom Ford, I find it looks better on – not sure why. I may be one of the few not that blown away by the TF blush, but it may just be the wrong shade for me.
Fave right now is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone – it is a really terrific illuminator/highlighter, and I can see now why it gets so much love. I do like the TF foundations, both the stick and liquid. Though I'm also a fan of the new GA Maestro foundation and concealer. I also really like the Claudio Riaz brushes and makeup. (Wayne Goss gave the brushes the worst review possible, which I found curious. I've had mine for two years – no problems with shedding or poor wear and they really work well for me. To each their own, I guess.) There is no LMDB near me at all but I am sure I am going to be making a major buy the next time I'm at a counter. Like I need more makeup-not!
Oh my goodness…we really do have huge quantity of favorite products in common!!! I had my eye on Love Lust blush but settled on the Frantic Pink because I tend to have a heavy hand with blush and don't want to accidentally look like a clown! I wonder if you'd like the Frantic Pink better…hmmm…! I have't tried TF Casablanca but I think I may have to! Ahh…Becca! I am so happy that Sephora started carrying this clean and beautiful line again recently. Right now I have highlighters coming out of my ears (e.g., RMS, Chanel, Kevyn Aucoin, Tom Ford and Edward Bess) but I would like to give the Becca version a whirl in the future.
The LMdB line is so wonderful…can't wait to hear what you pick out the next time you are there! Perhaps a post-Christmas escapade?
Warm regards and do please keep in touch…xoxo,

Love your five minute face tutorial! Can you get away with using one brightening powder over the other? If you were to pick one would you use LMDB over the sulwahasoo brightening powder or vice versa? Or how about the LMDB face palette?
Thank you, Anon! With regards to your question, I use the two powders for different purposes…the Le Metier Powder is specifically for the eye area and is in a tiny compact. The Sulwhasoo is intended for use all over the face (like a foundation or setting powder). I don't personally own the LMdB Face Palette but know that many use and love it for setting makeup.
For me, I use the LMdB for the eyes (super mini compact…always in my makeup bag for clean ups as the day wears on) and the Sulwhasoo as face powder for the day…I hope that helps!
XO and Merry Christmas,
