A Tale of Three Pink Blushes…

Above: Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush in Gracilis, Tom Ford Cheek Color in Frantic Pink and Sisley Phyto-Blush Eclat in Pinky Coral #05.
I was recently asked by a lovely reader if I could swatch some of my favorite pink blushes side by side for reference…this post, featuring Gracilis, Frantic Pink and Pinky Coral is simply the culmination of that effort.  Happy to oblige…enjoy ;
Above: Gracilis is a cool light mauve rose with a satin finish.

Above: Frantic Pink is a neutral pale pink with an elegant,  glowing shimmer (NOT to be confused with glitter!).

Above: Pinky Coral is a matte(ish) nearly apricot shade by the time the shades are mixed.

Bottom Line: I love all three of these pink blushes in different ways…Gracilis is extremely concentrated for a cool natural flush, Frantic Pink adds a lovely rosy glow to bronzer and cannot be over applied (trust me, I’ve tried!) and Sisley Pinky Coral gives a bright matte pale apricot pop of color that is blithe without being over the top.

What are some of your favorite pink blushes?

I love all three colors and I would love to own some Sisley and RBR blushes. My current favorite pink blushes are not new on the market, D&G Provocative, MAC Stay Pretty and Whole Lotta Love.

TF Frantic Pink is still on my list…but that Sisley packaging is so fun!!! I loved it from your other post featuring it!! My favorite pink blush right now is Burberry Misty…and yes it's a singular favorite right now because it's pretty much all I've been wearing for at least the last month. It even has a dip in it! Thanks for letting us peek 🙂

    Hello dear friend!

I just ordered Frantic Pink this weekend! I have been thinking about it ever since I saw it on your blog, and this weekend I broke down and bought it. I had considered so many other blushes, but in the end, I knew this would be a beautiful item and TF's makeup is always amazing. I can't wait for it to arrive!! I think the color is going to look great on my super pale skin.

Speaking of debating….I am really thinking of getting the Dior Spring Addict lip color in Candide. It looks like a beautiful, pale pink. And the new Pink Lilac Brighttening lip gloss by Bobbi Brown. Have you seen either?

    Talk to you soon!

    Xoxo,
    Kate

      Hello dear Kate!!

So good to hear from you…I hope your week is off to a good start. I am thrilled to hear that you ordered Frantic Pink…I use it, in some capacity, every single day…hope you love it as much as I do. I am sure it will be gorgeous on you!

I recently saw Candide…it looks lovely but I didn't get it as I currently have pink lipsticks coming out of my ears! I did, however, purchase a couple of the new By Terry Sheer lipsticks (I know, major contradiction to my last statement) and am loving their hydrating and plumping texture (swatches of the full range soon!). I also was tempted by the BB Pink Lilac, but have found BB glosses to be a tad on the sticky side in the past, so I talked myself out of it…I love the shade though…so pale milky purply pink!

Do keep me posted on your purchases and let's talk soon…xoxo lots of love!!

      Hi Rachel!

Ok, Tom Ford's Frantic Pink has changed my life and restored my faith in blush! It is GORGEOUS (you know it's serious if all caps are involved!) It is so beautiful, applies like a dream and lightens up my entire face. I have been searching for a blush high and low, swatching like crazy. I should have just referred to your original post about this blush and saved myself the hassle. It looks so glowing on the skin (without glitter or obvious shimmer) and does not accentuate the redness in my skin, which is something a lot of blushes do. Plus, it is such a great color for my extremely pale skin!

Thank you so much for swatching and reviewing this blush. Your endorsement really drove me to get this, and I am so glad I did!

By the way, I just got two new products from NARS that I am absolutely loving: the new Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Light Reflecting Loose Powder. Both are really amazing and I am truly impressed. Although, I am still eyeing the Diffused Light by Hourglass.

Have a great weekend and we'll talk more soon!

      Xoxo,
      Kate

      Hello Kate!

Your comment immediately brought a smile to my face because (1) it's always wonderful to hear from you and (2) I completely know what you mean about this TF blush being a game changer!! It is glowy, gives a believable flush and doesn't oxidize…perfection ; ) I am so glad that you love it as much as I do!!

I have been reading great things about the NARS concealer and powder…definitely tempting. What shade did you get? I recently took a foray into the very dangerous world of Serge Lutens…the powder foundation is unprecedented and I'll be reviewing it soon! The Hourglass in Diffused Light is wonderful too…so weightless and imperceptible.

Have a lovely weekend as well and talk soon!

      Hello friend!

I got the shade Vanilla in the NARS concealer. It covers redness really well, and the creaminess works well for my undereye area, which is perpetually dry. I was thinking of getting another shade that has a lot of peach in it – Honey maybe? That way, I can lay down some peach to cover the dark circles, and then lighten the area a smidge with the Vanilla color, which matches my skin color well.

Ah Uncle Serge…..I have drooled over his makeup for a long time. I love that the line is so well edited – it's not like you have 50 shades of lipstick from which to choose. There were actually two lipsticks I liked – a very milky pink color and an almost white color that is supposed to lighten lipstick. I have heard wonderful things about his foundation, as well as his eyeshadow palette. I can't wait to hear your review!

I actually ended up returning Candide. Truth be told, the Dior Addicts don't work for me. I don't like lipsticks that leave a stain, and these tend to do that. Plus, Candide was very similar on my lips to Arabesque by LM, and a Rouge Coco Shine I have in the color Chance. So, back it went. I love the return policy at Nordstrom!

Have a great weekend and we'll chat more soon!

      Xoxo,
      Kate

      Hi Kate!

Vanilla sounds perfect…I am definitely going to look into these because the raves been so plentiful thus far. Honey looks right for a slightly peachy/golden effect. I know exactly which two Serge Lutens lipsticks you are referring to (Rose Glace and Mauve de Swann)…it took all of my willpower to not order the Mauve de Swann as well as the powder; I had to look at my vast collection of Tom Ford favorites, to say nothing of the drawers upon drawers of pink nude lip color to talk myself out of adding it to my cart. One think that compelled me was that although some reviews say the SL lip color is moisturizing, others say it is quite thin and even a little drying. Loving the powder, though…review soon!

I understand what you mean about the Dior Addicts…I have only one because I am not crazy about the formula either. Got to love the flexibility that Nordie's affords!

I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start and will talk to you soon!!
