Beauty Is Life Gloss in Soho…a crazy unique color, indeed! |
My most recent Beauty Is Life kick began with Cosmopolitan, a fleshy pink nude that is divine in texture and tone. I also bought Soho (08 c), a wildly uncommon shimmerless opaque pale lavender. This shade looks amazing alone…pale and lush and equally flattering over other lip color, bringing out the creaminess and plushness of any shade. I am so pleased that I took a chance and bought it because, despite its out of the ordinary hue, it will be a utilitarian addition to my lip wardrobe.

Beauty Is Life “Soho” is a creamy grayed out lavender that is opaque and pigment rich without being dark or the slightest bit frosty. |

Bottom Line: I love this gloss…it is such an opaque and unique color and it lends itself to great versatility. It translates pale and cool when worn alone and adds depth, shimmerless sheen and creaminess when worn over another lip color. Highly recommended!

Hi Beauty Professor!
Sorry for the prolonged absence! I was visiting my family this past weekend, and when I got back to work this week, things were a little insane! It's good to be back!
What a great color! I love this. I have Nude Lilac by Laura Mercier, but that has shimmer, and this gloss looks much more pigmented. I may have to check this one out.
Seeing this color reminded me of the NARS Larger Than Life lipgloss I got in Born This Way. I would describe the color as milky lilac with hints of pink. Soho looks much more lilac, and again, more pigmented.
Speaking of NARS, I also got one of their new liquid eyeliners in Carthage (black). I absolutely love it. I had previously been using Lancome's Artliner, and the tip was a bit too flexible for me. The NARS version offers a lot more control. And the color does not budge once it is on.
Oh, Bachelor Pad! What a complete trainwreck. Blakely, Sarah and that other girl who likes Chris are all ridiculous! He is such a sleaze.
Have a great weekend! I had so much fun catching up on your blog when I got back from my trip – so many good posts!

Hello Kate!
Lovely to hear from you. I am glad you like Soho…I suspected you would ; ) It is indeed the rarest combination of pale, pigmented color and shine without shimmer! In the tube, it could look similar to Born This Way, or even LMdB's Caps d'Antibes but is definitely more pigmented (w/o shimmer) than both. Your news about the Carthage liner is exciting…it am thrilled to hear that it doesn't budge (that is always my problem) and will have to check it out. Do you wear you line on the top lid only?
I, too, just returned from being out of town for a couple of weeks and have a ton of blogging (somehow I always find time to buy makeup) as well as two Bachelor Pads to catch up on…we were in the Southwest for almost two weeks and my Internet connection was spotty at best ; ) I can only imagine how utterly vile Chris' behavior must be at this point; the previews I saw before leaving for vacation were distressing!
Have a wonderful weekend as well…new foundation (Givenchy, Beauty Is Life and even Kat Von D) and pale lip color swatches (the Too Faced La Creme Colors are just fabulous) and reviews on the horizon…take care and talk soon!
xoxo,
