The second half of December is always wild; so much to do and so little time. Stressful to-do lists and beautiful moments with family and friends. It’s the entire human experience distilled into two weeks. To simplify things, here are some festive beauty and style ideas from Nordstrom (with a surprise appearance by Joey Elle!) to take you through this month with classic, sophisticated ease.

Fireside Chat: Beauty and Style to Take You Through the Rest of This Year
Hot rollers are always at the core of my hair look and this T3 set is excellent to create damage-free soft curls in a few minutes. I love that I can be doing my makeup while they “percolate” and, even though my hair is long and thick, I only really need 6 to create the results you see here.
Next, I’m late to the party on the Chanel CC Cream (my match is B50) but am glad to have finally arrived. This lightweight formula offers immediate medium coverage that looks like real skin with a soft, subtle glow, I can apply it with my fingertips and it makes my skin look utterly perfected. I LOVE it. I also suggest the new *Sisley-Paris Stylo Correct Pen (my match is Medium 3) anywhere you need to conceal or brighten.
The precision point works well in small areas. It’s creamy enough to brighten dark circles or cover a pimple (which I did in the images that follow) alike. For more intense eye darkness, the *Sisley-Paris Phyto-Cernes Eclat Eye Concealer 2 has an apricot undertone to masterfully counteract shadows. Then, to illuminate the high points of my face, the *Sisley-Paris Stylo Lumiere Highlighter Pen 3 is a gossamer dream that makes skin look lit from within rather than shimmery or glittery.
Cheeks
For cheeks, I’m very impressed with the true tan Christian Dior Natural Bronze Powder (a new purchase for me!) which sculpts and warms the complexion without turning orange. The quilted packaging is gorgeous and the powder itself is just stunning and very easy to blend. I am also smitten with the Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush in Bright Coral, which, on the apples of the cheeks is so resplendent. It really is a mix of matte and luminosity for multidimensional skin.
To finish the complexion, the new Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Brightening Flawless Finish Powder is invaluable. It has a translucent finish that blurs the looks of pores and fine lines while brightening and setting without the slightest powdery finish. You will want this in your makeup arsenal…trust me. I recently rediscovered the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Light Wand Medium/Deep, which adds a blush of rosy bronze with a glowing, second skin finish.
Eyes
For eyes, I used the peachy pink, extra sparkly MAC Le Disko Dazzleshadow in Last Dance (very 1960s’s) with a slick of the *BY TERRY Ombre Blackstar Liner in Black Print on upper and lower lash lines (does. not. budge.) and two coats of the magnificent BY TERRY Lash Expert Mascara (on my 6th tube, which speaks to how much I adore it).
Finally, for lips, I applied the Christian Louboutin lipstick in Rosy Vibe, which is a creamy peachy pink that instantly delivers light the face without overpowering. I topped it with the *BYREDO Liquid Lipstick Vinyl in Liquid Pride (a lush coral) and also recommend the rosy nude Reasonable Doubt; both offer major color payoff, hydration and a luxe reflective finish that lasts. Can’t wait to try more shades in this formula!

// STYLE NOTES //
I’ve had this little black dress (wearing a small) since summer and am thrilled that it is still in stock. It’s made of structured yet stretchy cotton and features a sweetheart neckline. The dress has thigh grazing cut, pair it with tights if it’s cold! It has off the shoulder sleeves for a fresh and feminine look. I added a pop of color with these sleek teal booties (on sale for under $70 right now and extremely comfortable) and a timeless leather jacket that I wear year round.
Joey Elle’s dress is classic on every level…from the embroidery to the pockets, it’s a piece that aligns with the season perfectly and would be a beautiful gift for the little girl in your life.
