The sun is out in full force in Southern California. It serves as a reminder that spring–a season traditionally brimming with new beauty launches–is rapidly approaching.
I have some of said launches, all available at Nordstrom, radiating in sunlight and ready to show you today.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Here Comes the Sun…Newness from Sisley, Clé de Peau, Viktor & Rolf and More
// SKIN + HAIR //
As we emerge from a veritable winter cocoon, prepare yourself for some of the most luxurious skin restoring formulations!
For skin that positively glows, the *Clé de Peau Beauté Brightening Serum Supreme is, in a word, brilliant. Boasting the highest concentration of the brand’s 4MSK brightening complex. This silky formula masterfully combats hyperpigmentation while adding moisture and an inimitable glow.
Sisley Paris
In the evening, embrace restorative opulence with an effective trio from Sisley-Paris. I begin with a facial massage that incorporates the brand new lightweight *Sisley Paris Sisley Supremya at Night Supreme Anti-Aging Skin Care Lotion, which prepares the surface of the skin and heightens the efficacy of all subsequent skincare steps. I follow with the magnificent *Sisley Paris Sisley Supremya at Night Supreme Anti-Aging Skin Care Cream.
Rife with Sisley’s Phyto-Complex LC12, this very special cream-meets-serum assists in cell repair, taking advantage of the regeneration that occurs when we sleep. Every time I use this (have been testing for almost a month). I am stunned by how translucent and fresh my skin appears upon waking. I finish by tapping a bit of the *Sisley Paris Sisley Supremya at Night Supreme Anti-Aging Eye Serum in my orbital area. The formula, which absorbs instantly, is designed to help reduce dark circles and puffiness while tightening slack skin around the eyes.
Oribe Hair Alchemy Collection
For hair, I wholly recommend the *Oribe Hair Alchemy Collection. The Resilience Shampoo, Resilience Conditioner and Fortifying Treatment Serum work in triune. So,thanks to a curative blend of chia seed, hyaluronic acid and plant based proteins, to strengthen hair from the inside out while repairing split ends and reducing hair fall. I have been working with this range for the past month and a half and deeply appreciate how strong, soft, voluminous and protected my hair feels. Consider it skincare for the hair!
When it comes to an intense cleanse, once or twice a month I use the OUAI Detox Shampoo to give my mane a reset. This potent formula cleans with out stripping, leaving my hair extra bouncy and silky. This shampoo is an invaluable part of my monthly routine (as with all clarifying shampoos, one must resist the urge use it more than what’s recommended) and the best clarifying formula I’ve found (I’m on bottle number 3) thus far.
// FRAGRANCE //
For the past few weeks, the new *Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid EDP has been on extremely heavy rotation over here. Magnetic and sensual, this fruity floral is alluringly mood lifting. The red flacon is just as stunning as the juice within. Simply beyond!
Notes include:
– Top: vine peach accord.
– Middle: ruby orchid accord.
– Base: red vanilla bean accord.
// MAKEUP //
For the makeup look that follows, I embraced the Chanel Sublimage Le Teint Foundation (reviewed HERE), which is a plush and nourishing cream formula that creates even skin with a natural finish that lasts. I brightens up my under eyes with the iconic *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer in Buff (all shades swatched and reviewed HERE) and warmed up my complexion with the tan side of the radiant Tom Ford Moodlight palette. I focused application of the dusty rose nude Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush on the apples of my cheeks and used my ring finger to apply the Westman Atelier Superloaded Tinted Highlighter in Peau de Peche along the high points of my face.
For eyes, a melange of luminous neutral pastel tones via the Charlotte Tilbury Celestial Pearl Palette immediately take care of business. True story, I’m pretty sure I misplaced this palette a week or two ago and have been tearing the house apart to look for it (so far, to no avail). I use it so often that I ordered a new one last week (that’s why this palette looks so pristine) and I figure, if I end up finding my original, I’ll enjoy the convenience of having two of these stellar palettes in my house. Also, I love it that much! I made my brows extra feathery and fluffy with a healthy dose of the Kosas Air Brow in Medium Brown: (to add color and definition) and used the special spoolie tool to sweep a touch of the brilliant Anastasia Brow Freeze through for a laminated effect that lasts for hours on end.
// LIPS //
In the images throughout this post, I am wearing the Chantecaille Lip Definer in Tone (this perfect neutral is always in my purse) topped with the new Indie Lee Nourishing Lip Tint in Play, which is a clean and cushiony pinky mauve balm with surprising color payoff. I picked it up on a whim and am truly glad that I did.
I also needed to show you the resplendence that is the brand new *Sisley-Paris Phyto-Rouge Shine Refillable Lipstick. Insanely hydrating and wildly reflective, this sheer but buildable lipstick feels so right for the warmer months and the metallic gold and white zebra packaging is tres magnifique. I have been wearing the pinky peach (what else?) Sheer Petal nonstop and cannot wait to experiment with the bolder shades (Cherry! Raspberry! and Flamingo is on my radar now, too) in the coming days.
The following images reflect all product in action in afternoon sunlight…
// STYLE NOTES //
Free People Tunic
A touch 1960s-meets-bohemia, this tunic features a high neck, delicate pleats and fluid lines for a swingy result that can be worn with jeans or shorts alike. The pattern is exceptionally neutral and sure to flatter a spectrum of skin tones and the cut is extremely generous. I’m wearing a size small.
Bike Shorts
One can never have enough black bike shorts and this particular pair is SO highly rated; I hope this style comes in other colors this year.
Camel Coat
There is just something so effortless about a camel coat…that explains why I have at least four on heavy rotation over here!
Boots
A good sock bootie is hard to find and while the ones I’m wearing in the image above are from years ago, I found a similar pair to link to…Eileen Fisher knows what’s up.
Vince Cottin Sandal
These sandals were love at first sight…the flared kitten heel and super soft leather straps make these so sophisticated but still casual enough to be worn with shorts. I found them to be TTS (I’m wearing a 7 here). I’ve already worn them multiple times…no break in necessary.
Agolde Parker Shorts
Now that it’s so warm here, I recently picked up some new cutoffs in a different size (last year at this time, I was a 27/28 and currently, I am a 25/26) and scored, yet again, with Agolde. The Parker Shorts are a modern classic for a reason. It’s a mid-to-high waist and a wider cut around the thighs make these flattering a comfortable. They’re short while still covering everything you want to cover and only get better with every wear. I love them so much that I got them 2 washes this season!
18K Choker Necklace
This vermeil gem from Monica Vinader has a delicate heart design on one side and a shiny snake link on the other. I love wearing it as a choker when fastened at its smallest setting (14 inches). It’s my new favorite piece of jewelry at a shockingly reasonable price point.

Bottom Line:
I hope you enjoyed this look at these early spring beauty launches from Nordstrom and would love to know what caught your eye…do tell.
Good things ahead including a peek at my makeup storage, a foundation intensive and a host of new product procurements. Cannot wait to share!
Stay strong, seek wisdom, much love and more soon,
xx

Hi Rachel! I also have the Charlotte Tilbury Celestial Pearl eye palette. It looks gorgeous on you! I have several CT eye palettes, and they apply effortlessly, but I am struggling with this one. When I apply as I would the others, it is too sheer. If I use a heavier hand, I get a ton of fall out, and have difficulty layering and blending. Can you share some application techniques? Thanks!
Rachel, Your reviews always get me, I end up with a long list of items I’m wanting. I’ve been eyeing that Tom Ford Moodlightface duo for awhile now and now that you say you use it for a beautiful glowing bronzer I’m moving it up on my list.

Oops! Sorry for posting twice!
Yesterday, for the first time, I washed my hair and used all 3 Oribe Hair Alchemy products (I ordered from Neiman’s and each shipped separately) and my hair looks and feels great! Also got the Sisley Sheer Raspberry balm…very pretty!
