Holiday parties abound this month and, just in time for the festivities, I have a fresh makeup look to share. From a genius base product that’s not quite foundation yet still masterfully perfects the canvas to a double decker palette that effortlessly refines eyes and cheeks, everything that I used can be found at Nordstrom.

Step by Step: A Holiday Makeup Tutorial

Step 1

I started with a clean face and my trusty T3 Volumizing Hot Rollers which I use multiple times a week to create full curls that last all day. If you’ve been contemplating them, I urge you to take the plunge; I love how quickly and adeptly they work while keeping my hands free to do other things.

Step 2

Next, I added a pump of the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, which hydrates on contact while imparting a glorious glow and a pea sized amount of the *Keyvn Aucoin Beauty Sensual Skin Primer, which blurs pores and helps extend the wear time of makeup.

Step 3

To even my skin tone while keeping things natural, I used two shades (2 and 3) of the Trish McEvoy Correct and Even Full-Face Perfector.  This intensely concentrated formula conceals imperfections and blends like a dream, allowing me to skip traditional foundation. I applied the darker shade (3, great for tan to deep skin tones) in the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face and the lighter shade (2, good for light and light-medium skin tones) in the center of my face, blending everything with a sponge for a custom shade match and finish.

Step 4

For cheeks I applied the bronzer and blush shades from the Trish McEvoy Carpe Diem Power of Beauty Collection Makeup Palette, then mixed a bit of the Chantecaille Cheek Gelee in Happy, *Monika Blunder Beauty Liquid Flush Cheek Tint Blush in Salzburg and *Sisley-Paris Phyto-Blush Twist in 7 Berry for a bespoke flush that makes cheeks look healthy and lit from within.

Step 5

For eyes, I curled my lashes with the *Keyvn Aucoin Lash Curler (the creme de la creme), added shimmery neutrals and a pop of glowing lavender from the Trish McEvoy Carpe Diem Power of Beauty Collection Makeup Palette, used the *Sisley-Paris Phyto-Kohl Star Sparkling Waterproof Eyeliner in 4 Sparkling Bronze (a lush khaki) on the waterline, *Clé de Peau Beaute Eyebrow Gel #102 on my brows and the *Revitalash Double-Ended Volume Mascara, which features a blue primer on one side and a jet black lengthening and volumizing mascara on the other.

Step 6

For lips, I defined my pout with the Trish McEvoy Barely Nude Liner (I use this creamy neutral so much, I’ll need to pick up a backup soon). Then, I added a touch of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand to my Cupid’s bow and a touch of the *Monika Blunder Beauty Kissen Lipstick Crayon in Romy on outside of my lower lip line and blended both with a sponge. This contour technique leaves lips looking volumized and plumped but still very natural. Finally, I finished with my favorite La Perla Matte Silk Lipstick in Nude Red 101…it’s a staple in my makeup bag and so incredibly versatile and flattering.

Finishing touches.

Step 7

Finishing touches include the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand in Spotlight on the high points of my face (see above for application points) and a spritz of the luxurious *Parfums de Marly Delina La Rosee which is sparkling and feminine with a sensual dry down. For natural nails, I suggest the highly rated Deborah Lippmann It’s a Miracle Cuticle Pen to impart a softening glow to finger tips and if you’re looking for a salon-fresh manicure at home, the Static Nails Square Pop-On Reusable Nails in Fetish (a milky pink beige) are instant gratification that can be easily removed when you’re ready.

Style notes.

// STYLE NOTES //

At the heart of this look is this lavish little number by Farm Rio (wearing a small). It features wrap dress styling, beaded details (at the belt) and one of the most gorgeous fabrics I’ve ever seen. Oh, and it’s on sale!

I paired it with some chic and modern ivory booties and sparkly rose gold hoops. The result is festive and sophisticated yet entirely comfortable.
