Hello, dear readers. Although I create new content daily on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LTK, it has been a while since my last proper post here and it feels good to be back. I truly hope you’re doing well.
Between being a mom, two different full time jobs outside of the home, a plethora of travel and developing a haircare line, it’s been exceptionally wild but deeply wonderful. Here are some things that have going on in my life over the past few months…keep reading for my latest dream lip collaboration with Le Metier de Beaute:
- In addition to celebrating 13 years of Beauty Professor in January, I, of course, shared my best of beauty 2024 list (a really fun watch if you like long form content with plenty of detail), which is a video series I’ve been doing for almost 13 years straight!
- We returned to Hawaii and had the blessing of bringing my parents with us this time. We stayed at the Kahala (our favorite) and made memories for a lifetime.
- I started the spring semester on campus (here’s my makeup routine for the first day back); I am teaching 7 classes (public speaking, mediation and negotiation, mass communication and organizational communication) and also serving as co-department chair for our Communication Studies Department. It’s a joy as always, but definitely a lot of work (especially the grading!) and I am still filming office hours blending communication with beauty as much as possible.
- The first product launch for my Académie Hair brand went into stability testing. This entire process, which I’ve been working on for the past two years, probably needs its own separate update, but I can tell you that we are slated for official launch this year and it’s been an incredible journey thus far.
- I’ve traveled to QVC in Philadelphia two more times for on-air appearances with Manucurist Paris. I love the process of flying into the city for less than 40 hours (the Rittenhouse is my hotel of choice!) and sharing products from a brand I truly love. This combination is on my nails nonstop as of late.
- In March, I went to NYC for 40 hours to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 as a guest of beauty industry icon Kelly St. John. Kelly and I met early in my BP career when she approached me about writing beauty stories for Neiman Marcus (she was VP of Beauty) and the rest is history. It was so fun to explore the city and see dear friends (my first solo trip ever!) and a major honor to be included in this intimate celebration at the Baccarat Hotel…a night I will never forget.
- This month, I went to Palm Desert for spring break with my family; my husband had a board meeting so it was sunny days with Joey and my parents and business dinners with my husband in the evenings. I adore the desert and its vibe so it was a welcome respite (despite needing to film a couple campaigns) and am grateful for the time away.
- Finally, this weekend marks the official launch of my collaboration gloss with Le Metier de Beaute. A simple search of this site will show you how much I’ve loved this brand since the start of BP and it’s been a dream to create a shade now that–a after a few years of hiatus–the LMdB is back and better than ever. Read on for all the details…
Two years in development, this rosy nude pink is the shade I’ve always made by combining an array of lip products and textures. I want something that is hydrating, shiny, has strong color payoff and immense lasting power…is that too much to ask? Working with LMdB to create this shade has been incredibly hands on (here’s a link to a video of it in action) and I am beyond thrilled with the result.
