Above: My Marc Jacobs products, resplendent in my BP workspace. |
Despite the buzz surrounding the impending release of the Marc Jacobs Beauty line, I remained rather aloof to the collection’s arrival because I knew I would be nowhere near a Sephora on its debut date due to a cross country road trip to Wyoming (full recap soon!). However, much to my delight, our afternoon stopover in Las Vegas allowed me to peruse the line first hand at the lovely Sephora at the Venetian.
Exactly 30 minutes (and one 20% off VIP perk later), I left with 10 carefully curated items that I am excited to share in the video below. I have great plans to execute more specific reviews for each product but in the meanwhile, felt that sharing my thoughts and initial swatches in form of a video would be the most time effective option for those of you curious about the line and its offerings…
Products Mentioned in the Video Include:
1. Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Foundation in #32 Beige Light
2. Quasar MD Plus laser
3. Marc Jacobs Perfection Powder in #300 Beige
4. Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush in #204 Obsessed
5. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayons in (Ro)Cocoa and Blacquer
6. Marc Jacobs Love Marc Lip Gel in #106 Moody Margot and #104 Dizzy Spell
7. Lust for Lacquer Lipgloss in #306 Sweet Escape
8. Marc Jacobs Hi-Shine Lacquer in #142 Fluorescent Beige and #104 Funny Girl
Have YOU tried anything from the Marc Jacobs Beauty line yet? Thoughts?

I have tried and reviewed the eye palette in tease, it's not a stellar product so you're not missing out. I'd like to try the foundation & I just ordered the lipgloss y'day. Let's see how it turns out. Great first impressions vid!
Hi Kath!!
I saw your comprehensive review and enjoyed the details…it made me glad I didn't go after eyeshadow palette, even if they look beautiful. Thanks for your sweet words about my video!
I hope you love your lipgloss (which shade did you choose?) and suggest the foundation if you like a sheer finish…it is pretty, but there may be a few formulas I prefer over this one ; )

hi rachel! i took a glance at marc jacob's line the last time i was in sephora. there were 2 pictures of models and i especially liked the picture that appeared to have brown smoky eyes with pale lips, very pretty. i definitely will go back especially with your high reviews. i'm still using summer chanel stuff. my labor day will most probably consist of purchasing a big haul for fall makeup. i received a message from my local chanel counter that there is a new small collection of eye pencils, creme shadows, 2 quads and, several different shades of le volume de chanel. the only other things i've been interested in are new eyeshadow singles from sisley and tom ford's she wolf pallette. unfortunately, i can only order this without testing first. i did see swatches of chantecaille's wild horses pallette. i thought this would be a definite purchase but, the eyes are meant to be very pale and understated with a bold red lip. this will not work for me and i would have to order it anyway. i'm really excited about the marc jacobs line! thankyou for this wonderful review. happy wednesday night to you! xo wendy.
Hello Wendy,
I know the MJB pictures you mean…light lips and smokey eyes…totally my favorite look as well! A major makeup haul…what a fun way to spend your Labor Day Monday! Perfect for getting ready before your teaching schedule ramps up. Chanel collection you mention sounds lovely and the Tom Ford She Wolf palette is all sorts of gorgeous!
I hope your Thursday is going well…xoxo and talk soon,

your hair looks amazing here, so shiny and healthy…can you please tell me what you used?
thank you!
Thank you! I have a rotation of shampoos but believe I used L'Oreal Sulfate Free EverStrong shampoo and conditioner (in green tubes) the night before filming, let it air dry overnight and then touched up with a blowdryer in the morning to remove all moisture!
I hope that helps…xoxo,
