My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Guide: Classic Style You’ll Wear Forever

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has arrived and I just shopped it in person; consequently, this post will offer an in-depth look at what I picked up as well as a carefully curated list of recommendations to help you navigate this annual shopping event. In terms of access, here is a breakdown of the dates:

• July 6: Early Access for cardmembers with Icon status.
• July 7: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
• On July 9: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status.
• July 15: Anniversary Sale opens to the general public.

This year, I focused on wardrobe staples with the intention of finding options that I would want to wear frequently and hold onto for a long while. While I appreciate infusing an occasional trend into my style, I find that I generally gravitate towards timeless options that span the seasons (and the decades). My goal was to choose quality pieces that can stand alone or be styled with each other and I had fun creating the very wearable looks that follow.

Look #1: Tailored classics with a twist.

This lightweight Madewell buttondown boyfriend shirt (wearing a size medium) is crisp and clean and I balanced it with a pair of Spanx Stretch Twill Wide Leg Crop Pants in Darkened Olive (size small), which are a slimming take on a 1940s silhouette. Accessories for this look include the All Saints Odette East/West Leather Tote in Palisade Tan, a roomy and chic bag with two handle options and a removable interior pouch (SUCH a fabulous work bag), the Argento Vivo Labradorite Beaded Toggle Necklace (love the gold front clasp). which works wonderfully with my existing neck stack and endlessly comfortable Schutz Block Heels in the most beautiful gilded shade Platina (these will match everything and you’ll see them pop up a lot in this guide!).

Look #2: Warm weather, elevated yet grounded.

For hot days and sultry nights, I love this Topshop denim crop top (technically not a part of the sale, but a veritable steal at $40) with these Topshop faux leather shorts (wearing a size 6) and UGG Josefene Boots, which have a chic cowboy appeal but with a comfortable rounded toe (zero break-in necessary).

 

Look #3: Monochrome Cool.

At the heart of this look is the buttery AllSaints Balfern motorcycle jacket (wearing a size 8…I suggest sizing up 1-2 sizes for a snug yet comfortable fit), which has a gorgeous detailing and timeless appeal. I layered it over the True + Co Body V-Neck Bralette in Desert (seamless and wireless support) added some Zella leggings (this pair has a svelte high rise and pockets on the thighs…brilliant), these Pedro Garcia Peonia Sandals (ergonomic footbed and modern styling…yes, please!) and the lightweight Tom Ford Shelton Polarized Sunglasses which deliver super crisp views thanks to polarized lenses.

I picked up the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Duo, which thanks to the sale is half off. It includes a full sized lipstick in Sazan Nude and a full sized Crushed Lip Gloss in Free Spirit, both of which are gorgeous medium peachy pink neutrals…I’m wearing the mix throughout this entire story. I also bought the Slip Sunkissed Scrunchie Set and am quite smitten with the warm pastel color palette and versatile array of luxurious scrunchies. Both Joey and I use these and they are truly worth the price…nothing better for holding hair without harm in this specific category!

I’ve used pillow talk for years and this kit is celebrates the very best of the shade.

Mac Essential Lip Wear Set

Pink and neutral options for a full lip in seconds.

Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm Set

Clean, plush and shiny with an ultra-clean ingredient profile…this set comes with a pink nude and warm red shades.

Too Faced Lip Injection Set

I love this formula when my lips are ready for some extra volume on contact t.

Slip Silk Carmel Pillowcase Duo

This pillowcase gently protects skin and hair while sleeping and this color is so opulent.

Slip Discovery Set

A perfect way to try the best of the brand.

T3 Luxe Brush Set

I use the white detangling brush in this set daily and wholly recommend it along with the other options in this set.

Riki Loves Riki Skinny Mirror

This mirror is excellent for at-home makeup application, filming and travel. I use mine every single week.

GHD Black 1-Inch Styler

My straightener of choice for the past decade.

Parfums de Marly Delina EDP Set

Feminine, modern and sophisticated, this is one of my favorite PdM fragrances ever.

Look #4: Active Yet Relaxed

I found a terrific array of active separates that are apropos for working out and lounging alike. They include the IeTS Frans Monogram Baby Tee (worn in a medium), Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing a small, a tried and true classic…I’m on my second pair), a super soft Madewell Green Tee in the flattering green hue, Zella High Waist Studio Lite Pocket 7/8 Leggings (size small) and the fluffy and whimsical, wildly comfortable Ugg Scuffita Slipper in Echinacea.

Embracing the good life with a IeTS Frans Monogram Tank, the Spanx Get Moving Skort (worn in a size small…I also own this style in black!) and the streamlined and intriguing Pedro Garcia Peonia Sandals. If you’re looking for a shoe to travel in that will accommodate long days of walking, these sandals should be at the top of your list due to their comfort and beauty.

Look #7: Sundrenched Seventies

This look is an homage to the late 1960s (think: Julie Christie-meets-Jane Birkin) thanks to this buttery *L’Agence Harmony Shirt (wearing a medium), relaxed and flowing Rebecca Beard Taylor Jeans, the Schutz Block Heels: (again…now I’m thinking about getting them in some other shades!) and the tortoise semi-aviator inspired Tom Ford Shelton Polarized Sunglasses.

Look #8: Maximum Minimalism

Using the sleek and supportive True New Lift Full V Neck as a base, I cultivated a minimalist energy with the Vince Crop Blazer (worn in a size small…this has an oversized cut), the stretch-free Rag + Bone Alex Highwaist Jeans (wearing a 27…they run a touch small so I sized up as I am normally a 26), the Schutz Block Heels in Platina and the extremely versatile All Saints Odette East/West Leather Tote in Palisade Tan.
