Hello, dear readers…this is a very special blog post! After nearly nine years on a free Blogger platform, I have moved my entire site to a self hosted platform for more independence and versatility. I can’t wait to continue implement adjustments in the coming days that optimize your experience on Beauty Professor. More organization and even easier navigation to come!
In the meanwhile, I am thrilled to be able to show you the resplendent SUQQU Holiday 2020 Collection as well as skincare on rotation, recent launches from Kosas, Kilian, Veronique Gabai and a full beauty and style look.
SUQQU Holiday 2020 and Late Fall Favorites
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line…
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the SUQQU Holiday 2020 Collection and am excited to show you the pieces that I received. The central focus of this festive and luxurious offering is the *SUQQU 2020 Holiday Eyeshadow Palette, which is replete with eight buttery and luminous shades that glide on like silk and resist creasing for hours on end. Inspired by the delicate texture of textiles, this palette possesses an array of wearable tones; six of the hues have a satin finish and the other two are a velvety matte for endless possibilities. If you like slightly warm neutrals and a sophisticated glow, then you will love this palette. So happy it’s still in stock at time of publishing this story.
The other pieces in the *SUQQU Holiday 2020 Collection include the Pure Color Blush in 122 Ayatsumugi (a tender mauve pink/pearl highlight combination) and 123 Kazariami (a golden beige/pearl highlight combination) and Vibrant Rich Lipstick in 110 Yunishiki (a full coverage pinky nude beige…worn in the images at the end of this post) and 111 Shuukou, a rich and classic red.
In terms of skincare, I have been testing the majestic *La Prairie Liquid Lift Serum.
It’s an investment that contributes to magnificent results. Including instant firming as well as improved skin quality on the long term. I use this on my most tired days (easily 4 out of 7 days of the week…ha!) And it provides an invigorating dose of lift that looks as good as it feels. I will continue to test and report again in a few more weeks. But my initial impressions are incredibly positive to say the least.
For moisture and brightening, the Saint Jane C Drops (reviewed HERE) have been a staple this month.
The lightweight, instantly absorbed oil has CBD and a high dose of Vitamin C to calm sensitive skin while producing a clear and enviable glow. I use it day and night as it plays well under makeup, too!
For hands, the *Augustinus Bader The Hand Treatment is he ultimate.
Just a touch of this hydrating formula delivers significant moisture and also a protective layer that buffers hands from environmental stressors like heat, hand washing, antibacterial hand gel and dry cool weather, or–in my case–an excess of typing!
The *Kate McLeod Grounding Stone is one of the most unique skincare finds I’ve encountered this year!
This solid moisturizer is best applied on dry, post-shower skin for a veil of hydration that soaks in for a velvety finish. The process of applying (rubbing it on one’s limbs) is a decadently relaxing form of self care and the clean formula has a earthy fragrance that lifts one’s spirts while calming one’s soul.
I recently resisted some key formulations in the Laura Mercier base lineup and fell in love all over again with this timeless trio. The Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating blurs pores while adding an ethereal glow that preps skin for foundation.
I followed with a pump and a half of the *Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation in 3W1 Dusk, which provides buildable medium coverage with a soft luminosity.
I finished my canvas with the incredibly unique *Laura Mercier Candleglow Powder #3; it is a finely milled formula for a gossamer veil of perfecting color that sets make up while yielding a multidimensional effect. If you haven’t yet tried it, I implore you to do so…it comes in a spectrum of shades for all skin tones and serves a myriad of purposes from setting and refining to touch ups and highlighting. All three are worn in the images at the end of this post.
The moment that I opened the new *Kosas The Ready in 5 Set, I knew that this special gift set would be a winner.
This trio features the creamy Color and Light Velvet Melon High Intensity cheek cream (lush peach and creamy rose gold), 10-Second Eye Shadow in Globe (bronze-meets-taupe goodness) and Wet Lip Oil in Dip (a genius, my lips but better nude); all three products are deliciously uncomplicated for sun kissed, juicy skin that looks polished yet natural.
I utilized the cheek and lip options in the images at the end of this post and truly feel that this particular edit features some of the absolute best of the brand (along with the deodorant which I have been using nonstop since April).
Three products I’ve been using almost daily this month include the*Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Glow, which adds the most molten illumination imaginable. It’s such an easy way to add radiance…a second skin incandescence that looks lit from within rather than shimmery. For eyes, I love the bronze elegance of the *BY TERRY Ombre Blackstar in Sunny Flash. In fact, it yields buildable color payoff and seemingly never-ending wear time. I imagine that this glimmering neutral will look good on every complexion and therefore, it belongs in every makeup bag!
I’ve been taking extra good care of my brows with the *GrandeBROW Brow Enhancing Serum, which nourishes and fortifies with every application.
Recently, I committed to using it exclusively for two months and you can watch my results HERE. I’ve had the best experience with this formula and recommend it to anyone seeking to fill in sparseness, add volume and depth and make the most of their brows without resorting to an excess of makeup or invasive procedures.
Two intriguing discoveries as of late include the *Bala Weights which I’ve had my eye on for awhile and the *Trophy Skin Brighten MD which is an ultra lightweight and portable red light device.
The *Bala Weights have been sold-out for months and so I jumped on the chance to order them when I noticed they were replenished on Amazon. They are 1lb each and wear comfortably on the wrists or ankles. I use them during walks with Joey Elle and also when I’m at home simply taking care of a full day’s business. As they build strength and tone muscles without interfering with normal tasks.
The *Trophy Skin Brighten MD has been an evening indulgence as this delicate wand delivers cell regenerating red light therapy along with a soft vibration and warming element. It helps to increase collagen production (love using it on my neck lines and lips for a pumping effect) and heighten the efficacy and absorption of any skincare applied beforehand, resulting in firmer and brighter skin. It’s a marvelous option for anyone looking to effortlessly add red light to their routine!
Also, I am loving the VITEYES supplement to protect eyes from an excess of blue light exposure.
Like so many of us, there are some days where I’m staring at a screen for 10+ hours a day. And this brilliant supplement works to provide a full digital eye shield the relieves fatigue. One capsule a day protects from high energy blue light emitted by electronic devices as well as the sun. When teaching 7 classes online and maintaining a comprehensive beauty website, I need all the help I can get.
I have been testing the brand new Kilian Angels Share for the past week or two and am entranced by its cognac, musk and vanilla gourmand sillage. It’s sweet without being cloying. And also has a dimension of cinnamon that makes it warm and intriguing. In a sentence, it’s as if Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 (two of my favorites) had a baby.
Finally, I am over the moon to show you the *Veronique Gabai St Tropez Pendant.
This opulent necklace embodies a new vertical–perfume jewelry–and also features a gilded pendant that houses a travel size fragrance within.
I have mine filled with the insanely alluring Sexy Garrigue, which features gorgeous notes of amber, musk, vanilla and earth. It’s every bit as stunning as it sounds. In fact, this is one of those pieces that will be a beautiful gift for yourself and others. Trust me on this one.
The following images reflect everything in action in afternoon sunlight…
// STYLE NOTES //
Black crop top:
This has a chic 1960s vibe that I love. Pair it with a relaxed pair of pants (if I wear tight on top, I prefer loose on bottom) and you’ve got a classic and comfortable outfit with very little effort.
Plaid Trousers:
High-waisted and slightly oversized? Yes, please! Plus the subtle plaid has a great energy for fall and winter.
Black sandals:
It’s still warm in Southern California and so I reach for sandals constantly. These strappy black numbers are so comfortable and match everything.

Congratulations on the new site! It loads super fact in comparison to the previous platform. Can’t wait to get the Suqqu eyeshadow palette. I know you are a devotee of Surratt brushes, but you should try the Suqqu brushes. They are the softest ever.
I picked up the beautiful Suqqu Holiday Collection and also the pre Holiday Collection and I am loving it all. You look beautiful. Stay safe.
I love your blogs! I’m not sure how you do it all! I just made my first Suqqu purchase in part based on your influence. I didn’t pick up any of the holiday. I went with basics of the foundation, concealer, face palette, a lip and a quad that I’ve been pining over for quite some time. I admire all that you do!
