Nordstrom Sale 2025: What I Bought and What’s Worth It

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale just started and, for the 12th year in a row–this time after carefully going through every page of the preview–I’ve completed shopping the first day in person. I’m excited to share a comprehensive look at what I picked up as well as a mindfully curated list of recommendations to help you navigate this annual shopping event. In terms of access, here is a breakdown of the dates:

• July 9-11: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
• On July 10-11: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status.
• July 12: Anniversary Sale opens to the general public (and runs through August 3rd)

When deciding on what to purchase, I consistently choose to focus on classic pieces that I can wear frequently and especially on campus when I return (as a full time Professor of Communication and Department Chair) at the end of August. This time around, I styled eight specific looks, balanced by some glorious discoveries in the sunglasses and beauty departments.

Nordstrom Sale 2025: What I Bought and What’s Worth It

Look #1

Basics with a Twist…this cotton henley (wearing a medium) is a solid basic in the most intriguing green-meets-brown. I paired it with straight leg jeans (size 27), cream colored Vince sandals, a gold and pearl lariat necklace and rectangular Prada sunglasses.

Look #2

Eternal Silk…during the Nordstrom sale, I always seek out the L’Agence silk shirts as they rank amongst my most worn garments all year. They are high quality and timeless and this particular color way may be the best one yet. Green, blue, lavender and pink harmonize for a gorgeous result.

Look #3:

Denim and Tweed…preppy and traditional, this pleated skirt (size medium) feels so right for fall and, when coupled with a classic denim shirt (this one is an excellent wash), is an outfit to take you through the day.

Look #4:

Relaxed but Still Polished…I couldn’t resist these Rag & Bone jeans (which I also own in light blue) because they have a fluid vibe that makes them look so effortless. I also added another Frank & Eileen (one of my favorite brands for shirts…I have several) button-down to my collection. These, unequivocally, are the shirts that I reach of most.

Look #5:

Sueded Neutrals…I never thought I wanted a suede dress until I saw this one (wearing a size 6). With timeless lines and buttery feel, it’s the quintessential neutral with an elevated energy. I paired it with this equally versatile Ponte double breasted blazer (wearing a size 8) that I know I will reach for a ton as the temperatures cool down and some sandals by Prada.

Look #6:

LBD + a Pop of Pink…I found this sleeveless blazer-inspired dress (size medium) at the last minute and am so glad I picked it up. Joey’s adorable A-line dress is a favorite cut by Mini Boden.

Look #7:

Luxe and Cozy…this cashmere set (size medium) is ultra soft and flowy and can be dressed up or down depending on the shoes. I also plan to wear this on my next flight! Joey’s robe is like a warm cocoon in the prettiest peach and under $30.

Look #8:

Dressy Dresses…I am forever a fan of the 1960s and this mock neck shift (wearing a medium) feels like an homage to one of my favorite decades. With a flattering cut in neckline and two pockets, its slightly longer length makes it perfect both for a dinner out or a long day on campus alike. Joey’s dress is 100% cotton and the 3 tiered layers will feel so right in the fall.
