This past 3-day weekend was a blur! Between two days spent at IMATS LA and a day at home shooting an insane array of new beauty products, I, for one, could do with one more day before heading back to work. That being said, I am thrilled to offer extremely brief overviews of 3 new beauty releases from Dior, Becca and Hourglass Cosmetics!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action…
One of the most unique lip liners on the market.
(1) Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner: This fascinating incarnation of the cult-favorite Dior Lip Glow gently plumps the lip line while subtly enhancing the inherent tone of one’s lips. Applied along the perimeter of the lips, this liner offers a gorgeous infusion of color (it turns a mid-toned baby pink on me) that creates a “my lips but better” result that I am, dare I say, addicted to. I look forward to pairing this with nude lip color in the coming days…in the meanwhile, I am completely content to wear it alone for an ultra natural look.
The Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner has an angled tip for precise application.
A Dior lip liner that instantly delivers a long-wearing, custom filler effect and rosy tint for a pro makeup look.
What it does: Boost the contour of your lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner. Its ultrasoft, retractable beveled tip hugs the lip contour for easy, precise application. Formulated with Dior’s own “Color Reviver”, it boosts the natural shade of your lip line, while its “Volume Booster” technology smooths, defines, and fills in the lip contour.
What else you need to know: The universal shade of Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner can be layered with any lipstick or gloss for a long-lasting, defined lip contour. It’s perfect for pairing with Dior Addict Lip Glow Pomade and Dior Addict Lip Glow (sold separately) for smooth, rosy lips and a natural lip look.

The Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the formula.
Incredibly light and buildable, this fragrance-free foundation comes in 8 shades (equipped with adapting technology so most skin tones should be covered) and I found an absolutely befitting match in the Beige shade, which is @NC 25-27. In my experience, one full pump yields medium coverage with a satin-matte finish that looks nearly invisible on the skin (while impressively banishing uneven areas and the look of pores). I currently get 6-7 hours of touch up free wear time and am very pleased with this foundation thus far. A more comprehensive review to come!
A light, buildable foundation that imparts subtle luminosity with a weightless feel.
What it does: Smooth on foundation coverage that feels ultra-light and buildable, while it evens and perfects your complexion. Every weightless drop of fluid imparts subtle luminosity that blurs imperfections and leaves a soft-focused glow. The foundation features a curated array of eight flexible shades that flatter all skintones.
What it is formulated WITHOUT: – Parabens – Sulfates – Phthalates
The new Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder comes in 4 shades with warm (Brilliant and Euphoric) and cool (Incandescent and Iridescent) undertones.
(3) *Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder (also available at Nordstrom): I am over the moon for this new release from one of my favorite beauty brands. These four strobing powders, which are designed to impart an ethereal glow rather than an obvious metallic shimmer, take the act of highlighting to the next level.
Classic and restrained, this powder formula is nothing short than what I’ve come to expect from the chic and minimalist Hourglass line. I prefer to sweep them across the high points of my face and down the bridge of my nose for a luminous finish that is nearly invisible to the naked eye; skin merely looks bathed in a wash of flattering light…I can’t wait to continue to experiment with all four!
Shade Descriptions (per my experience):
Brilliant: A soft gold
Euphoric: A warm champagne bronze
Incandescent: A pale baby pink
Iridescent: A muted rose gold
As soon as the sun makes an appearance in full force (it’s been relatively gloomy here as of late), I will be doing a follow up post with additional swatches and action shots so that the full resplendence of these powders can be accurately conveyed!
A collection of illuminating strobing powders designed to sculpt the face with light, creating depth and dimension for a refined, natural-looking highlight.
What it does: Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powders are formulated in a sheer base that’s infused with concentrated, ultra-fine mico-pearl particles in a number of sizes and refraction levels for natural-looking luminescence—without leaving a heavy metallic finish. Developed with Photoluminescent Technology it captures, diffuses, and softens surrounding light to refine the appearance of the skin. Use it wet or dry for different levels of intensity, taking you from an everyday strobe highlight to a dramatic evening strobe highlight. These universally flattering shades are perfect for all skintones, and they’re designed to be used with the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor (sold separately) for the most effortless application.
What it is formulated WITHOUT: – Parabens
What else you need to know: Designed to emulate the way in which strobe lights capture and reflect light on the face, Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powders contain a more concentrated level of micro-pearl particles in varying sizes and refraction levels than the original Ambient Lighting Powders. Combined with a sheerer base, the powders impart a highlight to the face in its purest form without masking the skin beneath it.
“Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders give off the most amazing glow to your skin without being overpowering. I love using it with the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor when I want a more reflective highlight.” —Carisa Janes, Hourglass Founder
These powders are finely-milled and gossamer-light for a lit-from-within (rather than shimmery) glow.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this fleeing overview of these 3 releases! As aforementioned, I plan on offering more in-depth reviews of both the Becca foundation (replete with comparison swatches) and the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder but wanted to share initial impressions and swatches for those interested in ordering these gems right away.
Good things ahead, including a swatch-heavy Surratt Prismatique Eyes feature, a recap of my time at IMATS LA and a host of new product procurements! I am also working my way through responding to your lovely comments and emails ; )
Rachel, nice offerings. I love the whole idea of the Dior liner. I am surprised that no one thought of this idea sooner. I am a MAC lip liner follower but am going to explore other lines in 2016. This coming from a gal that wears a bit of makeup to the gym and always lips! I love the new Hourglass powders. I've been known to wear just these on my face when I'm in a rush. The new ones look fabulous as you do wearing a beautiful glowing face here. Thanks for all your hard work in bringing wonderful posts and videos to us. I for one, so love them!
What a lovely comment to read…thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! Hope you are loving the Becca foundation (if you have it at this point!)
Hello! love your blog, loving this review and simply stunning natural lumnious makeup, beautiful! I am very keen for your advice. I am at point of looking for new foundation. I am thinking of this new Becca?, or.. GA Designer lift, Tom ford Tracless or Tracless perfecting foundation, I am not sure where to turn. I have a tricky skintone ..pale neutral-yellow. By Terry sheer expect #3 is perfect colour and I think I sit in NC 15-20 range. I love Ellis Faas & Chantecaille future skin but not exact skin shade. I love natural dewy finish, skin but better look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! X Rose
Thank you so much, Rose! With regards to your question, I would recommend the Becca, perhaps in the first or second shade available or the TF Traceless Perfecting in Fawn (which has a satin matte finish and the best lasting power ever!).
