Last week, imagine my delight in stumbling upon the debut of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstars on the Gopalettes. The sales associate informed me that the Nordstrom at the Grove received them two weeks earlier than all the other locations in the country. Naturally, I engaged in a hasty, late night swatching session of all available options (missing: the brown and nude-pink pairing of All About Eve).
Designed to be tossed in a handbag for touch ups while en route, the metallic eyeshadows feature stalwart lasting power and the lush creams for lips and cheeks are forgivingly sheer for a mirror-free application. These genius duos are entirely apropos for those of us experiencing long days and limited time for primping!
Filmstars On the Go is an easy look in a palette for film-star glamour in a flash. It’s a two-minute, two-step pocket-palette for a full eye, cheek and lip look on-the-go.
Palette includes:
– Lip-to-Cheek Cream Polish: a polish that contains BerryFlux Vita, a magic ingredient that increases the dermal and epidermal hyaluronic acid that drenches the skin with moisture in addition to a special microfine pigment technology that makes sure your lip color stays gorgeous all day.
– Metallic Eyeshadow: a mesmerizing formula that glides on beautifully with its perfect balance of waxes and oils, including apricot seed oil.
How to use: Simply apply color to your eyes, lips and cheeks with your fingers and blend.
By Charlotte Tilbury; made in Italy.
Kindly scroll on for more images, swatches, pictures of Breakfast at Tiffany’s in action, as well as the Bottom Line…
Above: Breakfast at Tiffany’s has a multi-dimensional bronze eyeshadow and tender pale beigy peach cream for lips and cheeks.
Above: The Spy Who Loved Me has a shimmering rose gold eyeshadow and rich, dark nude rose shade for lips and cheeks.
Above: Rebel Without a Cause has an ultra light champagne gold eyeshadow and sheer fuchsia cream for lips and cheeks.
Above: Some Like it Hot has a green-tinged gold eyeshadow and mango-tinged cream for lips and cheeks.
In terms of formula, I am wildly impressed by the fortitude of the eyeshadow…it is deeply pigmented (even in a single layer) and easy to apply with a brush or fingers. The metallic sheen is sophisticated, creating a luminous gleam that is neither shimmery or glittery. The lasting power is immense…even without primer, I experienced 7-8 hours of creaseless, fadeproof wear! It’s thin, rather than cushiony, but it doesn’t feel dry whatsoever.
The cream for lips and cheeks is quite sheer, yet buildable. There is absolutely no shimmer or pearlescence in any of the shades…just a dewy, color-infused sheen for a healthy looking effect.

Above: Pure luxe…the slim compact features the Art Deco sunburst that has become an unmistakable hallmark of the Charlotte Tilbury line.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without procuring my own compact…due to the extremely wearable colors and my penchant for the film itself, I selected Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The bronze and peach combination is subtle, yet stunning and I am able to wear it with ease.
Above: I truly feel like the shades in this compact are similar to those worn in the classic film of the same title.

The images below reflect Charlotte Tilbury Filmstars on the Go in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in action (captured with my iPhone 6 in an authentically on-the-go moment)…
Above: I used a small eyeshadow brush to blend the bronze eyshadow shade up to my brown bone…the texture is thin but it yeilds plenty of pigment and does a fantastic job of warding of creasing.
Above: I love single shade eye looks!
Above: I also swept the eyeshadow along my lower lash line for greater depth and shade continuity.
Above: I dabbed the sheer cream blush on the apples of my cheeks (after a healthy dose of Filmstar Bronze and Glow–reviewed HERE) for a touch of subtle color and added a bit more to my lips as a second base over Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner (to be properly reviewed soon).
Above: A bit blurry…but such is the case when Jethro is in my arms ; )
–Shop the Post–
Bottom Line: I hope your week is off to a magnificent start…despite the harshness of waking up to my alarm this morning after a blissful two weeks off, I am happy to say that I returned to work feeling well-rested and excited to teach.
What do YOU think about the new Charlotte Tilbury Filmstars on the Go? Are there any duos that catch your eye? I truly hope these swatches were helpful!
Next up, an eyeshadow tutorial video and a quick birthday recap as well as an overview of a host of new products I’m testing.
Still working my way through comment and email replies…adjusting to the nuances of a new schedule is always a bit trepidatious ; )
Beautiful and genius. I'm patiently, or not, waiting for my Zelens foundation! Haha. Barneys is usually fast but b/c I ordered thru the California store along with Holiday delays, I have yet to receive it. Can't wait. You look great along with Jethro. I too am back to the grind after 6 days off. But my batteries definitely feel re-charged. 🙂
Love the swatches! I always enjoy your thorough posts and really appreciate the high end focus. I actually ordered all of these sight unseen and coincidentally, they just arrived today. I have several Nordstrom stores in my area but none have a CT counter. I especially liked color of the "rebel without a cause" duo, but plan to return them all without swatching. I was slightly disappointed in the packaging- it was clearly plastic, though perhaps this is to help with the "on the go" concept? It doesn't feel luxe to me and at $55 for 2 grams it should. that is a very high pricepoint and I normally don't care.
Thank you! Ahh…the packaging…I think they went with a lighter material since the product is intended to be tossed in one's handbag. It looks similar to a smaller version the Bronze and Glow but I never carry Bronze and Glow in my purse because the metal casing is heavier than I prefer. I suppose everything is a tradeoff!
Beautiful and handy palette! I think Rebel without a Cause would be very nice too….hoping that I will be able to buy it somewhere online soo too! Nice to take with me in my handbag ;-).
I love the look of Breakfast at Tiffany's and if the lipstick is light enough for you then I could wear it too. I just wish CT would come to my Nordies.
Did you see the Beach Sticks yet? I was at Bergdorf's this weekend here in NYC (been so often to CT they all know me now 🙂 ) and tried the Filmstars on the Go and Beach Sticks. I loved the colors on both but went with Beach Sticks because I felt the texture of the Filmstars cheek tint was more oily than the Beach Stick. The Filmstars colors are beautiful though and I got The Spy Who Loved Me for my sister in law. Did you see the Beach Stick too? If so, how would you compare the two?
I have indeed…I need to post swatches soon. I am glad you found the Beach Sticks to be texturally excellent…I love the portability and think they are a great option for those looking for a single wash of color.
