Butter London Lippy Glosses in Teddy Girl and Trout Pout. |
Over the last few years, Butter London has become synonymous with smooth and sophisticated nail polishes, however the brand’s recent foray into lipgloss should not go overlooked! The Butter London Lippy line features lip glosses that coordinate with Butter London’s most popular nail colors. Recently, I picked up
Teddy Girl and
Trout Pout at Nordstrom and am happy to report that they are color-rich, extremely moisturizing and
very long lasting.
|
Teddy Girl is a very 1960s cool pale pink that translates to a light lip or an excellent lightening agent over darker lip color. |
|
Teddy Girl alone on lips…it is opaque and has no shimmer which is rare for such a light pink shade. |
|
Trout Pout is a creamy pinky coral shade…definitely deeper and warmer in tone than Teddy Girl. It adds a fabulous pop of color to the lips without being over the top. |
|
Trout Pout alone on lips…this shade offers full coverage color and lacks any form of shimmer as well. |
Butter London Lippies retail for $17 and feature a watermelon scent that some may find off putting. I don’t mind it since it is fruity and seems to dissipate after a few minutes. They are extremely sticky…like MAC Lip Glass (remember the original in the squeeze tube?) times ten but I think that is what contributes to their remarkable wear. Once again, as long as it is not a windy day, I can handle this element since the colors and effects are so flattering and my lips feel relatively conditioned after a day of wearing this product.
|
Teddy Girl and Trout Pout in direct sunlight…opaque coverage and rich colors make these perfect for summer. |
|
Wearing Trout Pout alone on the lips…this shade just brightens up the whole face! |
Bottom Line: If you can put up with the intense stickiness of this gloss and don’t mind a watermelon scented product, then the beautiful coloring and moisturizing properties of the Lippies make this gloss an excellent investment. I envision wearing mine all summer!

I'm diggin' the trout pout. I don't mind the stickiness at all. The stickier, the longer the wear is. Aloha! xo
Trout Pout would look great on you, FabKath! You are right…the sticker glosses tend to have fantastic lasting power. Have a wonderful week!
