Above: It may still be August, but I am ready for Fall 2013 at Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills. |
Last week, I attended the Neiman Marcus Fall 2013 Trend Event at Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills. From delightful edibles to a gorgeous fashion show featuring the finest in fall attire, this evening was a marvelous mix of perusing and mingling as well as a catalyst for inspiration for the cooler months to come!
Scroll on for images from the evening and a special beauty announcement at the end of this post…

The end of summer also means that the Neiman Marcus Beauty Event is just around the corner…with that in mind, I am excited to announce that Neiman Marcus has recently launched its online
Beauty Product Specialist Program, which offers online customers the personalized experience they would receive in a Neiman Marcus store!
“Through this program, our customers can expect to receive guidance on skincare regimes, makeup application, and choosing a personal scent,” said Kelly St. John, Neiman Marcus Direct Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Beauty. “The Neiman Marcus Online Product Specialist is here to take the mystery and question out of the equation for the customer when it comes to her Cosmetic and Fragrance needs.”
This is a wonderful option for beauty lovers who want to order a product from home…like my blog aims to do through swatches and reviews, this program aims to simplify the online experience, ultimately helping you to find your way to the best products on the market!
Customers have the ability to contact their Product Specialist of choice via email directly from the Neiman Marcus website.
Currently the program has specialists representing the following brands:
Armani Beauty
Beauty by Clinica Ivo Pitanguy
Cle de Peau Beaute
Creed
Dior Beauty
Guerlain
Hanae Mori
La Prairie
Laura Mercier
Revive
Shiseido
Yves Saint Laurent
Bottom Line: Neiman Marcus embraces seasonal change in the most exciting of ways…from vibrant events to spectacular beauty bags, this iconic shopping destination has single-handedly made me excited for the fall, even if the coming months guarantee a spike in my insane work schedule. Additionally, the integration of the NM Beauty Product Specialist Program is a stroke of genius, making it much easier for those without a NM nearby to procure products that perfectly fit their interests and needs!
Early next week, I’ll be previewing the gorgeous bag for the Beauty Event, along with sharing all the details of my very first Beauty Professor/Neiman Marcus collaboration (also hosted by InStyle magazine)…in the meanwhile, Southern California locals: kindly put 9/18/13 from 11-1PM on the calendar!

Dearest B.P,
Two words: Utterly beautiful! Thanks for providing us with a glimpse of the upcoming trends which I am sure will somehow be reflected in the spring season here in Australia. I loved the bright colors and textured fabrics, and am sure that you will have fun planning for the season ahead!
B.P the talented Charlotte Tillbury will be releasing a makeup line and her signature 'magic cream' very soon (I think sometime in September), and I was wondering whether you will be reviewing her range at all as that would be great.
Wishing you a beautiful day whatever you're doing xo
Hello Karen,
Thank you so very much! The event was lovely and I am always happy to share. That's right…I always forget that our seasons are vastly different…enjoy the coming Spring–how lovely!!
I just read a press release on the Charlotte Tillbury line…thanks for mentioning it! I am extremely interested in trying everything (including the magic cream…does it get any better than that?!) but will have to see how/where I can track down the products.
I hope your day is going well, too…mine is blissfully full of emails, blog posts and a ton of sunshine!
xoxo and talk soon,

Thank-you B.P for including us in the NM Fall trend event. Even though my schedule gets crazy with my kids going back to school, I too am excited for the colors/textures of fall. I'm ready to pack my flip-flops away & pull out my boots! Just not looking forward to the extreme cold weather we face here on the East coast. I really wish I could attend your event & am bummed that I live so far away. But I know you will highlight the best moments & post them for us to see. Brilliant idea for NM online beauty specialist. You will still be my first stop for swatches & reviews but that will certainly help with the ordering process if I'm undecided between colors. Have a wonderful day & great weekend. xoxo
My pleasure, Lynn! There is just something so invigorating about fall that makes all the hectic days a little more bearable, no? I, too, am ready for a daily dose of boots ; ) I wish you could come to my event as well…what fun we'd have. I am in the midst of planning the final details right now and will definitely devote a post to its recap! Also, I love that you have a "1-2 approach" to tracking down beauty products and am honored to be your first line of defense ; )
Enjoy the holiday weekend…may it be filled with rest and fun!

Hello again, I totally forgot about the holiday & hope you have fun whatever you decide to do. I tracked my package & my bbb from Napolean will arrive tomorrow! Tonite I picked up a couple things at Sephora: The coconut water cheek gelee from Josie Maran is brilliant. Got it in Poppy paradise & will test it at work tomorrow. Also they now carry bite beauty lipstick/glosses. I bought the high pigment pencil in Syrah. You would approve of it's nude pink awesomeness! haha Pretty sure that's not a word but I thought it fit. I haven't tried anything in texture like bite before. This pencil is like a matte lipliner but with shine but not too much shine and chunky. I can wear with or without gloss. perfect balance of opaque & moisture. Ok, now for my chanel purchase. I promise I will try not to talk about the Les Beiges again but I actually bought #30 as well! I love this powder so much. So I felt that when my tiny bit of self-tan faded, I would want #30 to warm me up. Believe it or not, we tried both the 30 & 40. Both were great but I figured the 40, when I fade might look too much. The #30 is wonderful. I also got the chanel Le Crayon yeux in 66 brun-cuivre'. A bronze brown that almost looks plum. Btw, the Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner you got, rococ, is beautiful as well. So I thought I was goin for 2 products & got 4. Oh well, that's what happens to us beauty addicts. lol xoxo
Hi Lynn,
Today is the day your Napoleon should arrive…fantastic! Thanks for sharing your latest Sephora purchases…I will definitely be there this weekend and will have to try the cheek gelee and lip pencil…duly noted! Glad to hear that Les Beiges #30 is perfect for you; the whole point is to create a subtle bronzing effect and it sounds like #30 is totally doing that for you. I haven't yet seen the Le Crayon you speak of but must take a peek. Yes, the MJ pencil in Rococoa is crazy good…I have been wearing it nonstop since getting it and still marvel at its longevity in this humid summer weather!
I hope your Friday is going well…xoxo and talk soon!

Thank you, BP for that tantalizing preview, I so look forward to your notes on the season's most worthy. In viewing the lovely pics you've posted in this entry as in your entire blog, I am always left with how fabulous your look is – your outfits are fashion-forward while leaving behind the "fashion victimhood" that afflicts so many fashion trend blogs. In other words, you look smashing without trying; at least that's my impression. Now comes the "ask" (lol) I know I'm being a greedy beautyprofessor.net reader, for I know maintaining a blog of this caliber is like having another full-time job. Yet I wonder if you would consider having a "style" section, perhaps, featuring looks or pieces curated by you? I think that there is very definitely a dearth of style features in the blogosphere that has that sense of cool, yet sophisticated, "fashion" without "victim" attached to it. I don't mean to impose on your time, my selfish
request stems from admiration, dear BP. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Hello Elle…how lovely to hear from you!
I am so happy you enjoyed this post and am completely flattered by your assessment of my style sense! Thank you. I tend to embrace basics and classics over trends…I feel the most comfortable in them and find that they rarely, if ever, let me down! I love your idea of a style section and think I might be able to incorporate a post of this nature every once in a while. Thanks for your interest and keep your eyes peeled ; )
I hope you have a brilliant Labor Day weekend as well…xoxo and talk soon,
–The Beauty Professor
I agree 100% with Elle. I tend to forget to mention how great & effortless your style is. I go on & on about beauty & just want you to know that I notice & appreciate the way you put together classics with maybe 1 trendy but chic item like your fabulous booties. 🙂 Elle said it perfectly: you never look like your trying to hard. Stylish, elegant & fashion forward.
Wow, Lynn…thank you so much. You and Elle flatter me! Much appreciation for your encouragement and support. I love clothes, but generally during the summer, I give little consideration to what I put on…glad to know it is still working to some capacity ; )
Have a beautiful weekend, dear friend! xoxo,

…and i just discovered your fabulous blog and have bookmarked it. I shall be buying some of your recommended products but first…I totally agree with the other posters who love your fashion sense..and since I am on the hunt for boots..I must know..whose boots are you wearing in the pic entitled "Above: Directly after the show…enjoying my Andy Warhol Perrier"? I LOVE them! 🙂
Hello Anon!
So happy you found your way here and thanks for your generous comment! With regards to your question, my boots are called the Olivia Booties and I bought them from Madison Harding, which is located in NYC (they also have a website…www.madisonharding.com). Besides being unusual, they are super comfortable!!
