As most beauty lovers know, one must use a product for awhile before being able to officially weigh in on its overall efficacy and value. That being said, there are four products that are currently rising to the top in my daily routine and I wanted to share them before any more time passed!
Kindly scroll on for images, details and the Bottom Line…

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Eye and Lip Cream: Retailing for $200, this skincare hybrid is an undeniable investment; however, the fact that it serves as both an eye AND lip product does a bit to offset the cost. Pleasantly unscented and designed to tighten, brighten and smooth, this rich cream absorbs instantly and clinical trials support the fact that a month of regular use (twice daily) can result in the eye and lip region looking
five years younger! I have been using it for the past three weeks and am loving the firmer, brighter effect. I have also noticed that the fine lines around my eye area are much less visible…definitely impressed thus far! I will make sure to do a followup post after a full month trial…

B The Product Haircare: Offering formulas like
Shampoo for Volume,
Conditioner for Volume,
Revitalized Shampoo,
Revitalized Conditioner and
Clarifying Shampoo, this Paraben and Sulfate free line has taken over my shower. As someone who likes to change shampoos every couple of days, I am loving alternating the Shampoo and Conditioner for Volume with the Revitalized formula; I also integrate one day of Clarifying Shampoo (utterly awesome for the cleanest hair in town!) per week for good measure. My hair is balanced, bouncy and clean, all without an iota of exposure to harmful ingredients. Oh, and fresh, slightly fruity scent is divine!

3.
Tweezerman Studio Collection LED 15x Lighted Mirror: This mirror’s ultra strong suction cups make mounting it on an existing mirror extremely easy and that’s just the beginning! With the press of a button, it lights up around the perimeter, creating a distortion-free reflection perfect for close-up procedures. Tweezing my brows, inserting my contact lenses, applying eye makeup and seeing every single pore is so effortless with this little gem. Since receiving it, I have found myself using it daily, causing me to wonder what I ever did without it. At $30, this brilliant, luxe multi-tasker is a veritable steal!

4.
NEST Birchwood Pine Room Spray: Earlier this month, we took down our beloved Christmas tree. Although the shedding dry pine needles were beginning to make our dining room look like the floor of an authentic forest (!), I instantly missed one element as we hauled our tree to our green recycling bin: the gorgeous scent of fresh pine trees. Enter the Nest Birchwood Pine Room Spray…one press of the atomizer and I am transported to a cool, lush pine forest, resplendent with its fresh signature scent. This is the quintessential post-Christmas, still-in-the-midst-of-winter home fragrance; it freshens the whole house and lifts my spirits, all without a single pine needle in sight!

Above: These drinks got my brother and me through finals week with our sanity barely intact ; ) |
Admittedly, I concede that a grande Starbucks Caramel Macchiatto is neither a beauty product nor does it need appropriate testing, however, it HAS been rising to the top in my life as of late. I get mine with whole milk and extra whipped cream…my philosophy is, if I am going to drink it, best make it tasty!
Bottom Line: Each of these four products have seamlessly integrated themselves into my daily routine and consequently, I am enjoying the benefits of younger looking eyes and lips, full and healthy hair, groomed brows (and uber-clean pores!) and house that’s reminiscent of a winter chalet, nestled somewhere deep in a Swiss forest. I hope you enjoyed this product close-up and would love to hear about what is currently rising to the top in YOUR routine…do please share!
Good things ahead on the blog including lipgloss from Armour Beauty, products from Daniel Sandler, a beauty look video tutorial, more Surratt Beauty, a “green beauty” post and an overview of my favorite fragrances as of late…oh, and perhaps some sort of homage to Valentine’s Day for good measure ; )
Have a lovely weekend…xx,

Hi Rachel. I wanted to discuss the little lighted mirror. I have a lighted, magnifying makeup mirror that I bought from Brookstone years and years ago and it's awesome. And still going strong! It was, if I remember, over $200 and worth every penny. I can't do my makeup without it. But alas, my eyes are aging and the magnification is no longer sufficient for detail work. So I bought a cheapie little stick on magnifying mirror at Ulta and it's been perfect for more detail work. However, after seeing this post I'm really intrigued by the fact that this little mirror lights up. So my question for you is: how would you describe the light on this? Clear? White? Yellow? The main reason I'm interested is I've bought some smaller lighted mirrors before and found that some have a yellow type light that just isn't bright enough and really doesn't help in makeup application at all. This little baby sounds just like what I've been looking for lately so I'm really interested in your take on the color/clarity of the light. Thanks!
Hello Deb!
Thanks for the question : ) At 15x magnification, this is the most powerful magnifying mirror I have encountered and I find that when the light button is depressed, the ring of light that circles the mirror is a bright white. I see absolutely EVERYTHING with this gadget! Truly, for $30, this mirror is an utter deal! One thing…because the magnification is so intense, I have to get very close to it to see my face clearly (I think that is the case for most high magnification mirrors) but once I am in the "sweet spot," the payoff is undeniably clear ; )
I hope that helps…keep me posted on what you decide…xoxo,

Fantastic, Deb!
Hope you love it as I do ; )
