It’s no secret that I love beauty products. Up until recently, however, I wasn’t completely “in love” with organic and eco-friendly beauty products. Having been blessed to be raised on extremely natural foods (e.g., no refined sugar, no white flour, no pork and no artificial sweeteners etc.), the health food store was a normal way of life. While finding the sprouted grain bread, carob chips and every type of honey known to man was a breeze at said retailers, the beauty aisle didn’t always deliver with such efficiency. I am happy to report, however, that things have changed…lately, I have had the chance to try some exceptional natural products that boast both impressive ingredients lists and marvelous results!
Kindly scroll on for a collection of my current favorite organic and eco-friendly beauty products as well as images of the products on my hair + face and the Bottom Line…

The
Thomson DiPalma haircare line is the culmination of celebrity hairstylist Bryan Thomson-DiPalma’s quest for organically-derived, detergent free formulas that successfully address common haircare concerns including dryness and fine texture. Trained as both a chemical expert and an herbalist, his unique background yielded his eponymous collection of cruelty-free shampoos and conditioners that effectively clean and nourish the hair without the addition of artificial fragrances, parabens, sulfates or phthlates.

I love using the Tangerine Shampoo as a daily cleanser…it is fragrant (but not overpowering!) and, when combined with warm water, it creates the most delightful lather (which is quite rare for most natural, sulfate-free formulas). Keeping with the citrus theme, the Grapefruit Conditioner adds immense body and bounce to my hair (see images at the end of this post), leaving it soft, silky and entirely manageable. Affordable, accessible and brimming with certified organic ingredients, the Thomson-DiPalma line is a must for those who seek a natural yet effective haircare experience!

Above: Two more natural beauty favorites…the Sara Happ Nude Slip gloss and RMS Buriti Bronzer. |
I picked up the
RMS Buriti Bronzer (also mentioned
HERE) and
Sara Happ Nude Slip gloss right before Christmas and have been loving the lusciously natural benefits these little gems deliver! Known for its clean aesthetic and heavy reliance on coconut oil, the organic line
RMS strikes a beautiful balance between minimalist ingredients and quality color cosmetics.
|

|
Above: The RMS Buriti Bronzer is a true tan brown that never runs the risk of looking orange…I suspect this would compliment a spectrum of skin tones! |
The
Buriti Bronzer has a creamy texture that effortlessly melds into the skin to create the most natural bronze tone…neither gold nor orange, this satin-finish shade feels almost balm-like in nature, creating a hydrating wash of color that simultaneously adds depth, warmth and contour to the face. I love using an angled face brush to sweep this along the hollows of my cheeks, down the bridge of my nose and along my jawline. It leaves the skin looking natural (no shimmer!) and radiant while also lasting the entire day without the need for touchups. While the thought of spreading a coconut oil-based product on one’s face could seem daunting (especially for those of us with sensitive, combination skin), I am thrilled to report that this does not exacerbate oiliness nor does it lend to clogged pores. This bronzer is a perfect foray into the entire RMS line and I love it so much, I even bought my mom her own jar ; )
For the lips, the
Sara Happ The Nude Slip One Luxe Gloss is an opulent option. This plush, ultra hydrating formula envelopes the lips in a semi-opaque wash of pale nude shine (I originally caught a glimpse of it on fellow pinky nude lip lover LisaLisaD1’s Instagram page!) and the oversized doefoot applicator makes applying this gloss a tactile dream. The Nude Slip is slightly sweet (almost cocoa-scented in nature) and marvelously not sticky, though I get at least three hours of wear time before feeling like I need to reapply it. And, while not purporting to be organic, the Sara Happ line is
recognized as an eco-friendly company (e.g., high concentration of organic and natural ingredients, recyclable packaging and a small carbon footprint etc.) As a beauty product and lip treatment, this multi-facted tube of loveliness (which
feels absolutely divine) is a must for nude lip lovers!

Above: The natural glow of the RMS Living Luminizer. |
Finally, I’ve owned the
RMS Living Luminizer for over a year now and am still as smitten with its ethereal glow as the day I first procured it. Its gossamer texture is simply lovely…silky, smooth and endlessly radiant, the Living Luminizer is an illuminator for grown ups! The sheen is refreshingly understated and sophisticated, imparting a natural luminosity that brightens up the face in all the right places. I love to sweep this along my brown bones, along my upper cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose…I also touch a bit in the inner corners of my eyes and on my Cupid’s bow for good measure. The formula is unscented, moisturizing and not sticky or oily in texture…when applied strategically, it merely gives the appearance of an
extremely good skin day. Highly recommended for highlighting beginners and enthusiasts alike!

Bottom Line: Organic, Eco-friendly beauty products can be incredibly easy to embrace…the days of chalky mineral powders and sulfate-free shampoos that refuse to lather are over! Voluminous, bouncy locks and bronzed, glowing skin (that lasts all day, I might add) can be achieved without the inclusion of harmful additives and chemicals; the
Thomson DiPalma line,
RMS Buriti Bronzer and
Living Luminizer and
Sara Happ Nude Slip prove that one does not need to compromise beautiful results to enjoy the peace of mind that comes with using natural beauty products.

Such an interesting array of products! Would you compare the glow on the RMS luminizer more to the "Illuminate" part of the Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate? That's actually my all time favourite highlighter. I love the way it imparts zero glitter and just a glossy glow. However, I can't seem to find something similar anywhere. I go through the "illuminate" part so much quicker than the "shade" part that I can't bring myself to buy a new one until I use up the whole thing. With that being said, I'm always on the hunt for similar highlighters. If the RMS one isn't quite it, do you have suggestions on alternatives??
Hello MG!
Thank you so much! Yes, I would indeed compare the RMS LL to the Tom Ford S + I "Illuminate" section, though I find it is even more natural looking and has better longevity. That is so funny…I always go through the "shade" side more quickly since my illuminators are portable and always with me ; ) Too bad I can't just send you my barely touched "illuminate" section ; ) I think you will like the similarity of the RMS, plus, since it is so portable, it is nice to just toss in the purse for long days (as we both have!).
I hope that helps…xoxo and have a marvelous weekend,
–The Beauty Professor
You have me convinced! I JUST ordered it online from beautybay…along with some LMdB Hydracreme lipsticks (oh you enabler!). Oh how I wish we could swap our TF S+I. I actually have very pale skin (NC10-15 depending on time of year), so it takes just a touch of the shade part for me to get a nice contour. That's why it takes me so much longer to go through it. But I can't complain about a luxury product lastin a long time, now can I:). Have a lovely weekend too!
Happy to help ; ) I hope you end up loving it as much as I do!! Ahh…the LMdB Hydracremes…so delectable. Congrats and enjoy!
xoxo and talk soon,

I have fine, shoulder length, color treated hair and I adore Evolvh Ultra Shine Moisture shampoo and conditioner. I love the smell and the results. A must try! The conditioner is deceiving. When you apply it in the shower, it feels like it disappears, but is doesn't. Here's their website address – http://www.evolvh.com or you can buy some of their products from Dermstore http://www.dermstore.com or Birchbox http://www.birchbox.com.
Thanks for sharing your discovery, Karin…I haven't heard of the Evolvh line but it sounds like it is effective and lovely!
Have a beautiful weekend…xx,

what foundation/blush and lip color do you have on?
Hello…I am wearing the Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Cream Foundation in #22 Natural Beige, the RMS Buruti Bronzer (as mentioned in the post) and the Sara Happ Nude Slip gloss alone on the lips.
Take care,
–The Beauty Professor
What foundation are you wearing here?
Hello Jen,
Thanks for the question…I am wearing one of my favorites…the Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Cream Foundation in #22.
Hope that helps…xx,

Do you use the bronzer as almost like a contour? I keep re-reading your post and I'm so confused!! 🙂
Hello Anon,
Yes, I use it as a contour…it adds just the right amount of shadow and depth to the face, all the while warming it up a bit like a bronzer ; )
xx,
–The Beauty Professor
