Earlier this month, the glorious Jouer Cosmetics line debuted their latest product:
The Anti-Aging Moisture Primer! This silky gel is designed to combat aging while simultaneously giving the skin the moisture it needs
and being the ultimate base for the beauty products to come.

This smooth formula is unscented and impressively silicone-free; I feel it necessary to note that this is no small feat for a primer! As aforementioned, it has a silky texture but thankfully doesn’t have the overly-slippery, almost greasy feel that can often accompany primers with silicones. I am happy to report that my sensitive skin has not experienced a single reaction with this formula!

As a primer, I like to apply a pearl-sized amount on my face, directly following my morning moisturizer and a single pump of Peau Vierge. The primer blends into my face seamlessly, leaving a balanced canvas that is neither too matte, nor too dewy. I find that the formula allows my makeup to have significant longevity and my fine lines are softened by the nourishing ingredients. I don’t get any oil breakthrough as the day wears on (only lightly “dewy”) and my skin feels soft and comfortable.

The other new Jouer Spring 2014 release is that of the otherworldly
Pink Glace lip gloss. This pinky beige-meets-rose gold is simply gorgeous! The guilded micro-shimmer adds lush depth to my lips and the ultra-moisturizing Jouer gloss formula ensures that they remain comfortable and hydrated over the course of wear.

I love wearing
Pink Glace both on its own for a pared-down, casual look or over a deeper, more full coverage shade (in this case,
NARS Damage) as I am doing in the images below. It adds just the right amount of sophisticated shine to transform a favorite existing lip color, making it
just that much better. Thanks to Pink Glace, my two favorite Jouer lip glosses,
Nude and
Peony (reviewed
HERE) are about to have some serious competition!

Bottom Line: The Jouer line does not disappoint. Intelligently designed to be reflective of both serious quality and impressive performance, the
Jouer Anti-Aging Moisture Primer lives up to its name. My skin feels hydrated and balanced during use and my fine lines are kindly filled in by this wonder gel. Additionally, like every good primer, this formula creates the perfect canvas to which my makeup can (and does!) adhere. Highly recommended!

Great review. Am so excited to try this primer. I have heard great things about matrixyl! Are you planning to review the mattifying primer too? I love the lip gloss on you. It gives loads of colour. Thanks for this review x
Thanks, Michelle!
I just opted to try the Anti-aging version as I have super sensitive skin and sometimes mattifying products (outside of powder, of course) can throw off my skin's balance. The gloss is such a glowing shade for spring…many thanks! If you haven't tried the Jouer glosses yet, this is definitely the place to start ; )

Hi there lovely,
What a fantastic sounding primer. I was going to purchase the Rouge Bunny Rouge original that you mentioned in one if your posts but this one sounds even better especially for dry skin. You makeup looks flawless in your photos so it obviously helps keep you looking fresh.
The only downside is postage from the Jouer site is around $50 to Australia and the other site was about the same.
I will keep looking because this sounds perfect.
The lip colour is also gorgeous.
I hope your week has started off well
As always take care and talk soon

Hi Julie!
Thanks…it truly is a marvelous product. The Rouge Bunny Rouge is excellent as well but if you are dealing with dry skin, the extreme hydration of the Jouer primer may just be the ticket ; ) That shipping fee is a challenge…yikes!
I appreciate your kind words about my pictures…always such a joy to hear from you!
I hope your week is moving along nicely…xoxo and talk soon,

Great review on that serum but I am more interested in that lip gloss. I super like the color. It looks great on you. It seems so natural.
Thanks so much, Sue…the lipgloss is definitely a winning shade. So glistening on its own or over deeper lip color. I highly recommend it : )
