Above: No time (or desire!) to wash hair? Three braids at bedtime = wavy hair reflective of more effort than was actually expended! |
Today’s look is appropriate for work while being ever so comfortable in warm weather…simple and restrained, it’s black on black without an ounce of austerity.

Bottom Line: The unseasonable springtime heatwave plaguing Southern CA this week is causing me to embrace airy and comfortable options a bit sooner than I anticipated. Hope that you are feeling cooler, wherever you may be!
What is working for YOU this week?

Hello dear B.P,
Thanks so much for this lovely look of the day! The black shift really suits you and I imagine is incredibly comfortable to be wearing on a hot day, when you don't want anything too clingy. Your skin looks absolutely amazing, with an almost blur-effect finish that just looks so sophisticated. Nothing seems to be particularly working for me this work (hello that time of the month acne & blotting), however I have just ordered the Anastasia Dip brow pomade which I am so excited to finally try:)
Wishing you a wonderful and fulfilling week, Karen xxoo
Hello Karen,
My pleasure…thank you for the sweet feedback. Yes, I love looser dress on warm days…much better for ventilation ; )
Thank you for your kind words about my skin…good skincare and foundation have been a great help and I have been experimenting with the newly released Skindinavia primer spray (as a last step before foundation); it helps to refine pores and keep oil at bay, especially in extreme heat like we've had in Southern CA lately.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Dip Brow…it is definitely a part of my daily routine and will be so good in the dead of summer as well!
I hope your week has been wonderful and that your weekend is full of blissful rest and relaxation…xoxo and talk soon!

I have pulled out all the summer stops here in Texas as it has been in the 90's. I am beginning to find that a couple of my foundations and CC creams that I trialed are actually going to be very effective for the heat this year. Love your blog and your candid assessment along with product help. Thank you!!
Hi Sherry!
Ahh…90s in Texas already?! I feel your pain! This week has reached over 100 each day and I live right by the beach…it's crazy and most of the houses in the area (including ours) don't have air conditioning because it NEVER gets this warm!
What foundations and CC creams are you finding success with?
Thanks for your support…I shall try to keep the reviews coming ; )

I love it! You look fantastic-I just found the sandals in stock at Bloomingdales and was lucky enough to order a pair in my size-thanks for sharing 😉
Thank you!
I am so glad were able to track down the sandals…I meant to link to them but somehow my link didn't go through (it's fixed now!)…super glad that Bloomie's still has them in stock.
Enjoy them…xoxo and have a lovely weekend,
