Earlier this month, I
made mention of an impending release from Napoleon Perdis; I am thrilled to finally share its debut! Blending the classic sophistication of past with very
au courant shades of the present, the
Slim Aarons LE Collection is now available.
Inspired by famed American society photographer Slim Aaron’s image, “Poolside Gossip,” the collection features a finely-curated selection of products that bronze, highlight and enhance in a jet-setting, effortless and luxurious manner. The color palette gloriously brings to mind the energy and aesthetic of some of my favorite classic films of the 1950’s and 1960’s including
Pillow Talk,
High Society,
Bonjour Tristesse, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and
Valley of the Dolls, causing me to long for a more sophisticated, technicolor time in history.
Kindly scroll on for a wealth of details, swatches and images of the Slim Aarons Collection on the face as well as an exclusive coupon code for Beauty Professor readers and the Bottom Line…

- A Creme Lipstick in Entitled
|
Above: The Champagne Days highlighter is light and creamy, imparting a gorgeous light beige sheen that looks radiantly natural on the face. |
|
Above: The Matte Bronze bronzer has a light brown-meets-tan tone that is perfect for contouring and warming up the complexion. It is ultra finely-milled and glides on the cheeks with ease; I adore this formula and know I’ll be wearing it all summer! |
|
Above: The Creme Lipstick in Entitled is a dreamy nude peach with pink undertones; it’s subtle sophistication is to die for. After being on an eternal hunt to track down a duplicate, I feel like this very shade might be most similar in coloring to the lipstick Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s…eureka! |
|
Above: Swatches of all three products in direct sunlight…magnifique, no? |
|
Above: The Two-Faced Eyeliner Duos have thick and thin application options for maximum control and versatility. |
In addition to the LE Slim Aaron’s case, the collection also includes the Two-Faced Eyeliner Duo in three distinctly marvelous shades. This dual ended liner boasts an angled end for bold strokes and an uber-fine tip for precise cat eyes and winged edges. I love the bold pigmentation and celluloid transparency of these beauties…they glide on smoothly and, once set, stay in place for hours.

Although not a part of the Slim Aarons Collection, I also wanted to discuss the newly-released Stroke of Genius Liquid Cashmere Foundation, especially since I am wearing it in the subsequent images. Available at
Neiman Marcus,
Nordstrom and, of course,
NapoleonPerdis.com, this medium coverage formula looks and feels like velvet on the skin. I am particularly impressed by its soft-focus finish and significant lasting power (I’ve been touch-up free for the last eight hours…even as I type this!). It comes in five shades, swatched below; for my current summer NC 25-27 skin, I require equal parts 2B and 3 to create the ideal shade.
- #1: Very light neutral beige for fair skin in the N/NW/NC 10-15 range
- #2: Light yellow beige for light skin with warm undertones in the N/NC 20-23 range
- #2B: Light neutral beige for light skin with neutral to rosy undertones in the N/NW 20-25 range
- #3: Medium yellow beige for medium skin with neutral to warm undertones in the N/NC 27-30 range
- #4: Medium dark beige for medium dark skin with neutral undertones in the N/NW/NC 35+ range

Above: For the eyes, I blended Power along my lower lash line and swept High Society, followed by Privilege on my upper lash line for a dramatic, winged look. |
|
Above: I experimented with the double line by adding sweep of high society along my crease (which I subsequently smudged for a watercolor effect) and brought it to meet the winged tip of my lower two lines. |
|
Above: Entitled alone on the lips…this is creamy and opaque and wears beautifully for hours. |
|
Above: I think this image best reflects the luminescent properties of the Champagne Days highlighter…a subtle glow, indeed. I applied it to my lower brow bones, upper cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose and put a touch on my cupid’s bow. |

The green eyeliner is really quite unique. I do love your mod eye look with the product which will always be a favourite makeup style for me. Grooooovy
Thank you, Wendy…it was quite an adventure to apply but I loved creating an homage to one of my favorite style eras as well!

I'm confused. Why would he have something from Too-Faced in his collection? Did he collaborate with them and put his name on the liners? It all looks very pretty and summery.
Hi Marcia,
The liners are entitled "Two-Faced," which could easily be confused with the "Too-Faced" line but they are separate entities ; ) I agree, this collection screams summertime, no?!
Hope all is well, my lipstick twin…xx,

I think this is my favorite nude on you! Less pastel pink than usual, but still enough pink. I love it! Your skin looks amazing 🙂 the bronzer is perfect on you. I think this line was made for you!
Hello!
Wow…thank you so much, Miss Vargas Lady! Entitled is such a special nude and I think you describe it perfectly! I also appreciate your kind words about my skin…I've been working hard on taking care of it ; )

Hello Beauty Professor. This is my first time asking a question here but I have been coming to your website and watching your videos for a long time now. I too have been on a search for perfect foundation for years now. The past few days I have been thinking of ordering the Cle de peau you have been talking about but after seeing these beautiful pictures I am thinking about this foundation too. Last week I ordered the Lasting Silk by GA. The color was all wrong for me and i think it might not have been enough coverage for me. But I only tried it once since it was such a bad color. I didn't do enough research and ordered it too carelessly. I have almost identical colored skin as you. I have matched to many of the same colors you picked for yourself in the past. If I were to order this Napoleon foundation I too would have to mix. Did you try mixing the colors 2 and 3 as well? Was it too yellow and is that why you are mixing 2b with 3? And my next question would be out of the Cle de peau foundation you have been raving about and this Napolean foundation which one has longer staying power and more coverage? I live in Florida so I need staying power. I am also combo skin and prone to breakouts so I need to cover them up. I would love something that doesn't feel greasy. And if you get the chance to respond I would love to know if the Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging #2 is greasy at all. My nearest Neiman Marcus is over 1 hour away so any help would be so appreciated. Right now I keep going back to Chanel Perfection Lumier be I'm not feeling flawless thats for sure.
Hello Jaime,
Thanks for being a loyal reader and viewer! With regards to your question, I do indeed think that if you went with this formula, you would need both #2B (which would probably work alone for me in the winter months) and #3 (which I need for my light tan). The #2 is light and yellow (akin to a MAC NC 20) and I could probably only get away with it in the dead of winter. In terms of the Cle de Peau, O20 is about NC25 and I think I'll be able to wear it year round (and just add a bit more contour/bronzer and a darker finishing powder in the summer). It has a great matte finish that still looks natural (the Napoleon is dewier, which I love but you might not, especially in the Florida humidity). I think you'll find the most success with the Cle de Peau as it also has medium to full coverage!
I hope that helps…xx,

Hi there
I saw this last week at my Napoleon counter but never got time to have a proper look.
Love the look of the bronzer, highlighter and lipstick, the look great on you.
The mod style look you created was very cool, when I first saw it in the closed eye shot I wasn't sure, but when finished and as a look as a whole I really liked it.
Where the eyeliners long wearing?
I hope you have had a marvelous weekend, and look forward to seeing what else you have to share with us.
Take care
Xoxo Julie
Hello Julie,
Isn't this collection magnificent? So very chic! Thanks for your kind words about the final look on my face ; ) It was definitely a slight departure from my typical neutrals but fun to experiment with a new style!
Have a fantastic rest of the week and talk soon, lovely…xx,
