Above: NARS Audacious Lipstick in Dominique, Kelly, Julie, Marisa and Vanessa; they are all exclusive shades to Barney’s NY.
Here is my video review of the recently-released (and entirely incredible) NARS Audacious Lipstick (initially featured and swatched HERE) in five shades exclusive to Barney’s NY: Julie, Vanessa, Marisa, Dominique and Kelly (currently available at Barney’s NY, Nordstrom, Sephora and NARS.com).
I also included my first impressions of the hotly-anticipated YSL Fusion Ink Foundation in B40 Sand (currently available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Sephora and Saks). I will be preparing detailed review soon…so far, I love it!
Kindly scroll on for the video and images of all five shades on a human face as well as the Bottom Line…
NARS Audacious Lipstick Close Ups:
(1) Julie: A peachy-pink nude with incredible depth
Above: A single coat of Julie alone on the lips.
Above: Julie is the easiest, most relaxed shade of the five I own.
Above: Julie is pigmented but soft…a great variation on a nude lip.
Above: I adore Julie!
(2) Vanessa: A mauve-tinged nude
Above: A single coat of Vanessa alone on the lips.
Above: Vanessa has a rich mauve undertone.
Above: Vanessa is neutral but transforms into a lovely, almost stain-like nude.
Above: The mauve tone allows this nude to work for a spectrum of skintones.
(3) Marisa: A bright medium pink with fuchsia leanings
Above: A single coat of Marisa alone on the lips.
Above: Marisa is bright but wearable.
Above: Perhaps the most vibrant pink I own, Marisa has a fun personality.
Above: Marisa is a must for pink lovers.
(4) Dominique: A creamy, mid-toned lavender
Above: A single coat of Dominique alone on the lips.
Above: Dominique reminds me of a lighter, creamier MAC Epic, a favorite from years past.
Above: Dominique is edgy but still appropriate for the workplace.
Above: Dominique is truly unique.
(5) Kelly: A bold, yet soft, flamingo-inspired coral
Above: A single coat of Kelly alone on the lips.
Above: For being so bold, Kelly is simultaneously soft on the eyes.
Above: Kelly is a radiant fusion of red, pink and coral.
Above: I am surprised how much I like wearing Kelly!

Bottom Line: The NARS Audacious Lipstick (currently available at Barney’s NY, Nordstrom, Sephoraand NARS.com) is utter magnificence and I am so glad that I have distinct shades in my possession! With regards to the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation, I will continue to experiment with it over the next week and will weigh in with an official review (with swatches, of course) in the near future.
Have YOU tried either? Thoughts?
I hope your week is off to a marvelous start…xx and much more soon!
These look amazing, Dominique is so my colour. <3 I have no idea how am I gonna get one since I'm from EU, and neither Barney's nor Nars ship to my country. I'll have to get creative about it. 😀 I'm totally stunned how awesome you look in Dominique and Marissa, I didn't see that coming cause I'm used seeing you in warmer colours like Vanessa and Kelly. You're absolute chameleon, looking great in cool and warm shades. You should wear cool colours more often, they make you look a little bit more edgy than warm/nude shades, and even more gorgeous, imho. Thanks for great review, you're always most helpful! Hugs from Croatia,
Thanks so much, Petra, for your comment! I hope you are able to get your hands on these lipsticks…truly, they are incredible. Thank you, also, for your kind words about the bolder shades ; )
Kelly is a wonderful pop of color and adds a nice touch to your coloring.
What is brand of eyeliner you use in waterline and would you recommend it to very sensitive, dry eyes?
Thank you, Rhonda! With regards to your question, I use the Hourglass 1.5MM gel eyeliner (reviewed on my blog) and it is great for the waterline and sensitive eyes. I also like the Marc Jacobs Hi-Liner in Blacquer for the waterline…equally long lasting and gentle!

I love Dominique and Kelly on you~ I think I am used to seeing shades similar to Vanessa and Julie on you so these two definitely stand out as unique.
Thank you, Wendy!
I agree…after being a stickler for nudes and pinks, shades like Dominique and Kelly definitely feel like a departure from the norm ; )
xoxo and hope your week is going well,
