Never one to ignore a new luxury foundation release, I recently tracked down the Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Reveal Lift Foundation (available at Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora). I planned to simply swatch the shades since I had received many questions regarding this formula, but once I experienced it on my skin, I was compelled to pick up a bottle in my shade (which, for reference, is 110 Caramel). Boasting medium to full coverage, anti-aging skincare benefits and a natural, slightly glowy finish, this foundation is utterly marvelous!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches of every shade, images of the foundation in action as well as the Bottom Line…

What it is:
A high-performance foundation formula enriched with special skincare moisturizing properties to create the appearance of naturally younger-looking skin.
What it does: Perfect Reveal Lifting Foundation enhances your complexion’s natural youthfulness, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and achieves medium to full foundation coverage. Specially formulated with the exclusive Gold Flavo-Silk Tricomplex™, this foundation is infused with extracts of gold silk sericin, Italian olive oil, and vitamin B3. This unique blend of ingredients work together to restore the skin’s natural moisture, smooth the skin’s texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in four weeks.

My Thoughts:
This foundation is intriguing. The liquid texture could initially give off the impression that it yields sheer coverage; however, the formula is pigment rich and a little goes a long way in achieving a medium to full coverage effect. Applied with a dampened Beauty Blender, it glides on with ease and I do not need more than two or three small pumps to cover my entire face.
Texturally, this is smooth and hydrating, imparting a natural matte finish that makes my skin look healthy, even and slightly creamy. I don’t find that it settles into fine lines and, even after hours of wear, it remains intact, somehow avoiding all signs of oxidation. Although the coverage is magnificent, I feel like my skin can still breathe! I get 5-6 hours of comfortable wear (on a hot day) before needing to touch up with powder and can’t wait to test its longevity when the weather gets cooler and more fall-like around here…I suspect it will be quite good. A bit of dewiness and glow develops after about an hour of wear, but it is nominal, does not compromise the performance of the foundation and personally, I think it actually enhances the beauty of the finish.
There is no fragrance to potentially irritate my sensitive skin and I haven’t experienced any adverse effects with any of the ingredients in this formula. All in all, this is a lovely release and I find that I am reaching for it frequently, along with my beloved Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation.

Bottom Line: I am really glad that I took the time to pursue the Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Reveal Lift Foundation (available at Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora). Although it is not readily available at a spectrum of retailers, there is something about the thrill of the hunt that is inherently satisfying! This formula’s creamy, medium coverage finish, coupled with purported anti-aging benefits makes for a formidable release, expecially when one considers the very respectable lasting power. Although I haven’t used it regularly enough (this girl has been testing a massive amount of foundations lately!) to calibrate any long term skincare benefits, I am consistenly pleased with how smooth and soft my skin feels during and after wear. This will continue to be a part of my foundation rotation and I recommend it for those seeking slightly glowy, medium to full coverage and skincare benefits…it’s marvelous!

Have YOU tried this formula yet? Thoughts?
Much more soon, including some style posts, a current makeup routine video and some new eye shadow!
I have tried it and although I didn´t expect too much I was amazed when I looked in the mirrow after a couple of hours. For me, it can definitely compeed with the new tom ford foundation.
Thank you Rachel for posting this!
Since sephora is shipping to Germany, I want to try a D&G foundation. Because this foundation matching thing on Sephoras website drives me a little bit crazy, I can say your swatches are always THE best problem solving!
Greetings fro Germany

I am impressed by all your foundation reviews but now I am confused. I want them all! What should I get? I have a very crazy oily T-zone and ridiculously sensitive, red bumpy skin. What would you suggest? Tom Ford? Dolve Gabbana? or Laura Mercier?
Thanks!
I know…there have been so many marvelous foundations released lately that it is almost impossible to keep up! If you are oily, then I suggest the Tom Ford…it truly lasts the longest ; )
Reading this review reminds me of how personal foundation choice really is. I wandered into Saks wanting to explore some Armani cosmetics, but there was a D&G table set up near the entrance and when I paused a nano-second too long, the guest makeup artists started up a conversation with me. I told him I had read this review and was curious about this foundation. So he proceeded to do my makeup with it. Before he was half way done with the eyes, I smiled, squinted into the sunlight streaming into the store and noticed that this foundation was oily looking on my skin. It emphasized my pores and had also migrated out of my smile lines making me look older and more haggard than ever before. I was just not impressed. I did buy a cream eye shadow though.
THANK YOU FOR THE SWATCHES! I LOVE this foundation, I bought it in 170 thinking it would match me, but it's about 1.5 shades too dark for my skin, I was trying to see what the difference between 160 and 150 were, thanks to this info you posted I know which one to go with! This foundation is definitely worth the $$$$
Well shoot, this one sounds too good to miss! Thank you again for the swatches!! They are so helpful for online purchasing, I really can't thank you enough. 🙂 How does it compare to (my beloved) Fusion Ink? They sound similar, and I was surprised and delighted by how much coverage I get after how "thin" it feels. Happy Friday! xoxo.
I am so glad that you find my swatches helpful…that makes all of the tedious swatch labeling worthwhile to me ; )
This foudation offers similar coverage to the wonderful Fusion Ink, althought it is slightly more plush and creamy in texture; this could be due to the skincare benefits it also contains! I highly suggest procuring a sample at minimum…it's wonderful and great for the cooler months ahead!
I have dry patches right above/between my eyebrows and around my nose so I was just wondering which foundation you would recommend that doesn't accentuate dry patches/flakiness? I've been looking through your blog for a good recommendation but I can't seem to decide so I figured I should just ask. Your swatches are amazing as always thank you so much for posting them!

This is actually an excellent option for the skintype you describe, Vanessa…it is moisturizing with a lovely, natural satin finish!
