Above: Tom Ford Matte Lip Color in First Time…available again…this time, at Nordstrom!
Today, I received marvelous news; one of my Instagram followers, @missnklove, informed me that Tom Ford Matte Lip Color in First Time (previously reviewed HERE) is now back in stock at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom! Allow me to explain my elation…this incredibly pigmented peachy pink gem debuted back in October and stole the hearts of nude lovers everywhere. Not quite as warm as Spanish Pink and much more velvety than any other formula in the Tom Ford line, this shade sold out within a week, leaving those who hadn’t placed an order (their in-store presence was quite limited) tragically empty-handed. Fast forward nearly six months and now this magical unicorn shade makes an unexpected appearance at Neiman’s and Nordstrom…utterly marvelous!
Kindly scroll on for more details, comparison swatches and images of First Time in action as well as the Bottom Line…

Tom Ford First Time is a warm peachy pink with a rich, creamy finish and absolutely no shimmer. It possesses the ability to create a versatile nude look, apropos for a spectrum of skin tones, that doesn’t wash out the face. The smooth, matte finish covers the lips with opaque color in a single pass and the formula, while not overly moisturizing, is decidedly non-drying, especially for a matte lipstick. I sincerely hope that First Time’s currently availability is an indication that it is now a permanent member of the Tom Ford collection…it’s positively perfection.

When I initially wrote about First Time, I had many readers and subscribers ask me if it was similar to Tom Ford Spanish Pink (reviewed HERE and HERE). I concede that the shades look similar in the tube but, in my experience, First Time is much more wearable as Spanish Pink gets very dark (nearly hot coral) on my lips after about an hour of wear. Conversely, First Time stays color fast…for me, this is essential.

Above: Swatches in direct sunlight…TF First Time is more matte and color fast than TF Spanish Pink and is slightly lighter and less pink than NARS Audacious in Julie.
Above: Peachy pink nudes from Tom Ford and NARS…all of them get a lot of consistent wear.
I was inspired to swatch Tom Ford First Time alongside some other favorite peachy pink nudes:
Tom Ford Spanish Pink (reviewed HERE): Similar in tone but has more shine and can oxidize to a more “electric” coral pink, depending on one’s chemistry.

In the images that follow, I decided to combine the lush, color-saturated First Time with neutral products that work in harmony to create a casual, sun-drenched look:
Bottom Line: In sum, Tom Ford First Time is magnificent and I am so glad that it is finally available again! If you missed it the first time (no pun intended, I assure you) around, I beseech you to consider pursuing it whilst it is in stock at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. It is a must for peachy pink nude lovers, indeed!
Have YOU tried First Time? Do you hope to do so?
Good things ahead, including new product procurements, a video tutorial, my Burberry Kisses review and a host of other musings. I’ll also be giving you the rundown on The Makeup Show LA, which takes place next weekend (3/28-3/29). If you are a Southern CA local, I hope you can attend!
