Kjaer Weis Newness + the Solution for Second Day Hair

Above: Kjaer Weis gems, resplendent in the sunlight.
The Kjaer Weis line (available at BeautylishNet-A-PorterSpirit Beauty Lounge and Beauty Bar) possesses a gorgeous duality of form and function; from the weighty, streamlined metal cases to the stunning, all-natural, skin-friendly, pigmented creams and powders they house, each product feels like a precious gem, just waiting to be unearthed (KW cream foundation review HERE). Designed by Danish-born, NY-based makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis, this line takes sustainable beauty (most products are refillable, thereby drastically reducing waste) to an unprecedented level of organic high performance!  I recently had the pleasure of trying some new releases from the spring collection alongside a couple of staples in classic shades.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches, images of the Kjaer Weis line in action AND the latest solution for second day hair, courtesy of Sally Hershberger as well as the Bottom Line…

Above: Kjaer Weis Lip Tints in Amazed, Rapture and Beloved.
The *Kjaer Weis Lip Tints, which come in 10 shades, feature a creamy, moisturizing, buildable texture that imparts a lovely, pigmented-saturated sheen on the lips.  One layer creates a sheer, gossamer veil, while an additional coat or two yields nearly full opacity.  My lips feel nourished, balanced and the glowing finish impressively lasts for hours!
  • Amazed is a silky lilac that pale pink and nude lovers will adore.
  • Rapture is a fuchsia-meets-red for a bright pop of color.
  • Beloved is a sheer grape for a dark neutral effect.

Above: The Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in Wisdom.
I must admit,  I was beyond shocked by the uber-pigmented blissfully taupe wonder, otherwise known as the *Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in Wisdom. This finely-milled, velvety smooth formula glides over lids with radiant richness, leaving a neutral taupe wash in its wake.  No creasing, no fallout, just ultra-flattering depth that would compliment a spectrum of eye colors.  Wisdom is truly a standout and definitely an excellent foray into the Kjaer Weis line!

Ingredients: talc, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) stem powder, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, non-gmo tocopheryl acetate (nature-identical),gardenia florida (gardenia) fruit extract, lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower extract, lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, zinc stearate.

Above: The Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Joyful.
Finally, the *Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Joyful is just that…unadulterated, unmitigated joy!  This cheery peach-meets-coral shade is just right for the apples of the cheeks…a touch of luminosity and a pinch of color instantly brighten the face without overpowering one’s features.  The formula leaves skin dewy but also remarkably stays in place for hours without pooling or creasing…Kirsten Kjaer Weis most certainly knew what she was doing when she created her eponymous line.

Ingredients: caprylic/capric triglyceride, mica, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond oil), ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, zea may (corn) starch, cera alba (beeswax), copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, rosa rubiginosa (rosehip) seed oil, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, ammonium glycyrrhizate, (non-gmo) tocopheryl acetate,

Above: The 24K Sally Hershberger Supreme Stylist Voluminous Dry Shampoo
Onto the second day hair solution…the *24K Sally Hershberger Supreme Stylist Voluminous Dry Shampoo is all sorts of incredible.  Although I concede that dry shampoo allows me to extend the length of a hairwash, one of my least favorite things about dry shampoo in general is the powdery finish and lemony scent.  Enter 24K…this aerosol is nearly invisible and, when sprayed at the roots, creates the most magnificent volume, ultimately making my second-day hair look and feel fluffy, bouncy and fresh. In some ways, the decidedly non-lemony scent reminds me of my beloved Oribe Gold Lust haircare…it’s intoxicatingly sophisticated.  Talk about a brilliant time saver!

Bottom Line: Kjaer Weis (available at Beautylish, Net-A-Porter, Spirit Beauty Lounge and Beauty Bar) is pure organic luxury; if you have been in the market for highly effective, “do no harm” beauty, then I implore you to give this gem of a line a try!  Additionally, the new Sally Hershberger 24K dry shampoo is divine…the scent is fresh and the lack of powdery finish allows me to embrace this formula on a regular basis.  Second day hair never looked so good!
Good things ahead, including a skincare routine update, new lip color, a FOTD and, dare I say it, a May Favorites video (where did the month go?)!

I adore the KW cream blushes. I also recently picked up Beloved and am in love! I have not tried the eyeshadows but this one is stunning. What a gorgeous neutral shade, would be perfect for daytime xx

Not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that Creed Fragrances was consulted in creating the scent(s) for the Oribe hair care line. They've been around at least as long as Guerlain, so it makes sense anything from or inspired by a Creed-based fragrance is awesome.

Also, the founder's Scandinavian-ness is showing through the utilitarian yet sophisticated design of the makeup packaging.

Ahh…love that tidbit, TM! I wouldn't doubt the Oribe-Creed connection!

Yes, the aesthetics of this line are so Scandinavian…clean, streamlined, stunning, yet, entirely pragmatic!

Hope your week is going well…xx,
