There are a few beauty products of which I cannot get enough, likely due to their effortless nature and ability to be worn daily. This trio consists of foundation, bronzer and nude lip color. Consequently, I am thrilled to share a round of fresh-faced beauty newness from favorite lines including Orlane, Kevyn Aucoin, Edward Bess and Le Metier de Beaute!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Edward Bess Lasting Kiss Lip Stain in Au Naturel…this creamy, color-saturated formula glides on the lips like velvet and, despite the immense lasting power, keeps lips hydrated and comfortable over the duration of wear. Au Naturel is a gorgeous medium nude pink that would flatter a spectrum of skin tones. Adore!
Above: Skincare + coverage in a single tube…brilliant!
The latest incarnation in extremely lightweight, buildable base, the *Orlane Teint Absolu is a skincare-meets-foundation wonder! I am impressed by the stunning natural finish of this formula…one layer yields light coverage but another, dabbed over areas requiring more attention creates a demi-matte medium coverage finish that perfects the look and texture of skin in a flash.
There are four highly-adaptable shades in total that will work best with skin tones that fall between the fair (@N/NC/NW 10) to medium-dark (@N/NC/NW 40) range and I determined that my best match (for my @NC 25-27 skin) was shade #12, which is a lovely light-medium, yellow-toned beige.
I get a breezy 6-7 hours of touch up free wear and find that this weightless formula works extremely well in humidity…this formula, which is also kind to sensitive skin, is a total gem from the Orlane line!
Above: The full ingredients list.
Official details (with my additional shade descriptions), courtesy of Neiman Marcus:
This moisturizing, protecting and regenerating foundation is a genuine beautifying treatment.
Concentrated in three levels of hyaluronic acids, it intensely moisturizes, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and redefines facial contours. Its lightweight “Second Skin” cream texture, enriched with a new generation of micronized pigments enhances skin radiance and lastingly evens out the complexion. Contains a color matching effect that perfectly blends the foundation into your skin. A combination of vitamins B5, A and E strengthens the protection of the cells. Ceramides-2-like antioxidants protect against harsh external factors and accentuate the skin’s barrier effect. Your face appears younger-looking, your complexion is enhanced.
A choice of 4 shades perfectly designed to satisfy all skin tones.
11 Beige Absolu: Naturalness and elegance for fair skin tones. **@N/NC/NW 10-20
The Kevyn Aucoin The Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Days and Desert Nights are two incredible matte cheek options for those who prefer the natural warmth of a bronzer without the shimmer generally associated with most formulas. This powder is finely-milled, immediately melds with the skin and creates a smooth and flawless look that adds depth, dimension and sun-kissed radiance without the slightest hint of a powdery finish. If you’ve been on the hunt for an ultra-natural looking matte bronzer, I implore you to take a peek at these two shades; although both hues are extremely versatile, Desert Days is a light rosy tan, apropos for warming up fair to light skin tones and Desert Nights is a true brown bronze, fantastic for enhancing medium to dark skin tones.
Above: The bronzers come in the sleek signature packaging we’ve come to expect from the venerable Kevyn Aucoin line.
Bottom Line: The Orlane Teint Absoluis an excellent lightweight foundation option for the warmer months and for those seeking a natural warmth without shimmer, the Kevyn Aucoin Matte Bronzing Veilis an unmitigated must! Finally, nude lip lovers should strongly consider the intensely pigmented Edward Bess Lasting Kiss in Au Naturel…its shade, coverage and staying power are simply breathtaking!
Have you tried any of these products? Thoughts? What are some of your current fresh-faced favorites in the foundation, bronzer and nude lips categories?
Good things ahead including a style-inspired post, a video or two, a “what’s in my (new!) purse” overview and a skincare update round II.
I am officially finished teaching for the summer later on this week (!!) and cannot wait to devote even more time to BP in the coming months ; )
Hope your week is lovely thus far…xx,

Hi you look stunning in this look! But I really love how you did your eyes using all those shadows you mentioned above. How did you work with each color. I'm thinking of getting it but wanted to know if it's tricky to work with. I like an easy eye thx jaclyn.
Thanks so much, Jaclyn! With regards to your question, I covered my eyelid with the bronzy shade and then blended in some of the light taupe with a bit of the peachy ivory to the brow bone and then swept a mixture of the bronze and taupe along my lower lashline. Super easy…it took me under 60 seconds! I highly recommend this kaleidoscope as it is incredibly simple to work with!
You nailed the Bronze Goddess look. Gorgeous. I, of course, love the foundation review! I know nothing of Orlane as a brand. Thank you for the introduction.
Thank you so much, dear Petunia…what a compliment! So happy I could introduce you to Orlane…the line is limited in scope (which is sometimes very nice) and the products offerings are all superb! I also love the Orlane lip balm…it's a staple in my purse ; )
