The Internet has been positively agog with the arrival of the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection. The highlighter compact and eyeshadow palette have been splashed across every imaginable medium of social media (Instagram! Twitter! Snapchat!), accompanied by the glow-centric looks we’ve come accustomed to expecting from BECCA (Opal, reviewed HERE and HERE is a perennial favorite for me).
I was thankful to have had an early preview of the products but wanted to adequately swatch and test them before sharing everything on Beauty Professor. While this Champagne Collection story may not be the first you’ve read, it’s my goal that it will be the last one you need to make informed decisions regarding which items from the line you plan to procure! Consequently, the deluge of images that follow reflect my experience with the collection coupled with a dash of style for good measure.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…
The *Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palettefeatures five finely milled shades for the face; designed to add warmth, flush and glow, the powders apply sheerly but are pigmented and buildable enough for a stunning effect:
Rose Spritz is a golden peachy pink blush
Amaretto is a warm tan bronzer-meets-blush
Pamplemousse is a fuchsia pink with little to no shimmer
Champagne Pop is a white gold with pinky peach undertones
Prosecco Pop is a yellow gold champagne beige shade with more pigmentation, overall, than Champagne Pop
Although the entire palette is wearable, I find myself using Amaretto as a bronzer, Rose Spritz on the Apples of the cheeks and a mixture of Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop on the high points of my face (upper cheekbones, bridge of nose and Cupid’s bow) as demonstrated in the images at the end of this post. Pamplemousse is lovely, but it is currently too strong for my cheeks…perhaps I’ll give it another try when I get a bit more sun this summer. All in all, the palette is gorgeous and the shades layer nicely…definitely worth obtaining (if you haven’t already) when stock is replenished!
Smooth and buttery with significant color payoff (swatches below reflect a single pass on the skin), I was quite impressed with the quality of the shadows and believe this is an excellent option for those seeking a capsule collection of warm naturals in various finishes. I prefer shimmering/satin finish over matte (more forgiving in hasty application moments) and find myself applying the bronze all over the eye with a touch of the mauve in the crease and a bit of the shimmering pale gold blended up to my brow bone (as demonstrated in the images at the end of this post). While the matte shades are lovely, they are just not as natural for me but I will continue to experiment with different looks in the coming weeks.

The collection also features Champagne Pop in two compact formulas:
*Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop: This gossamer-light powder glides on skin, imparting immense radiance–a warm golden light, if you will–that is easy to apply and lasts all day. Although this shade was previously released, I didn’t actually try it until the debut of this collection and now I understand the hype! Even when the most minute amount is used, the shade instantly illuminates the face and the glow looks almost “wet” in all the best possible ways. It is a different glow than the softer radiance that my beloved Opal creates and the warmer tone of this powder is completely apropos for the warmer months ahead. I adore it!
*Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Champagne Pop: A cream version of the above, this more subdued formula translates as a touch more matte than then powder and is marvelous for getting the glow without the gleam.
Finally, the *Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Popis a liquid version of the ubiquitous warm gold hue which can be mixed into foundation, applied atop base and blended into the décolleté and on arms and legs to deliver immediate light to the surface of the skin. As the image below demonstrates, the liquid is highly blendable for the most natural radiance possible!

// FACE // In the images below, I also used the following products:
*Le Metier de Beaute Hydra Plump Lip Serum: This incredible formula is slated for release in early June and I was over the moon to preview it a bit early. Designed to drench lips in nonshiny, nonsticky moisture while gently plumping lips (without the slightest bit of irritation), this is the lip indulgence we’ve all been waiting for. More on this gem soon!
*Smith & Cult The Tainted Lip Stain in Sweet Suite (also available at Neiman Marcus): This gorgeous pink stain has a plush feel that hydrates lips while imparting an indelible, color-saturated, slightly glossy finish that lasts for hours. I have never met a more comfortable lip stain.
TEMPTU Color True Lipstick in Buffed Nectar: I picked this creamy pinky peach nude up earlier this year and recently rediscovered it (I adore when that happens). It is a perfectly pale, velvety matte nude lip on its own and looks incredible atop S&C Sweet Suite.
Tom Ford Extreme Mascara (reviewed HERE): Two coats add a jet-black flutter of fullness that have inspired me to gift this mascara to others time and again.

// A Dash of Style// I am wearing:
Eileen Fisher Scrunch Neck Turtleneck: I cannot get enough simple black turtlenecks, even when the weather gets warmer, I’ll still be wearing them…I’ll simply replace my jeans with cutoff shorts. The timeless classic appeal knows no end for me and Eileen Fisher makes one of the best ones on the market…a plethora of good reviews!
Levi’s 501 Jeans(also at REVOLVE): These relaxed jeans have a near perfect fit (medium rise, boyfriend cut and slim ankles) and can be dressed up or down, depending on footwear.
Miz Mooz Cali Ankle Cuff Sandals (also worn HERE): I have worn these interesting little sandals countless times since picking them up earlier this past spring. They are extremely comfortable and have adjustable ankle detailing that will work for a variety of foot types. Finally, I have an unapologetic penchant for buying shoes that combine black and brown(isn) and this darling pair most definitely fit the bill!
Bottom Line: I hope you found this overview of the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collectionhelpful and inspiring. The products in the collection are truly sublime and well worth the pursuit.
Good things ahead, including a fragrance profile, a glimpse into my vitamin routine and a host of new product procurements…can’t wait to share!
