Happy December, lovelies! I’ve been wanting to film a new video tutorial for quite awhile and was so inspired by the recently launched Eyes of Tom Ford Collection–as well as some fresh beauty discoveries from Sappho, Girlactik and Oribe–that I promptly raced to my camera to create a holiday look.
With the end of my teaching semester near and winter break around the corner, I cannot wait to continue to create new content and truly hope you enjoy this video in the meanwhile.
Kindly scroll on for the video, additional details, swatches galore and stills of the products in action as well the Bottom Line…
The product breakdown.
THE PRODUCT BREAKDOWN: Everything in the video, including swatches and links to previous reviews.
Skincare.
// SKINCARE // Formulas that work perfectly to prepare the skin for the makeup to come.
// FOUNDATION + FACE ETC.// A natural foundation find combined with an ethereal bronzer, glowing highlighter and luminous foundation powder for a pristine canvas that still looks like real skin.
*Sappho New Paradigm Foundation #8: Ever since the Sappho line launched at Neiman Marcus, I’ve received a steady stream of reader questions about this medium to full coverage foundation with a green beauty distinction. Fragrance-free and remarkably lightweight, this foundation boasts a natural finish that wears flawlessly for the entire day. #8 is a perfect match for my NC 25-27 skin and, after testing regularly for nearly two weeks, I can confirm that this formula is utterly exceptional.
*Sappho New Paradigm Essentials Foundation in Jennifer (not used in the video but swatches below): With slightly less coverage than the formula described above, this foundation is equally weightless and natural looking on the skin.
*Sappho Natural Cheeks Bronzer: A beautiful medium bronze with a touch of radiance, this formula adeptly sculpts features while lending a diffused warmth that looks entirely natural on a spectrum of skin tones. So pretty.
*Girlactik Luminous Face Powder in Light: The latest from Girlactik, I am over the moon for these fascinating powders; finely milled with notable coverage (I can even wear it alone as foundation!), they impart a luminous finish without any obvious signs of shimmer. The mind reels! Despite having approximately 157, 384 base products in my collection (OK, I might be minimally exaggerating), I have nothing quite like this remarkable powder.
// TOM FORD EYES // Rife with intense color and formula innovation, the collection edges towards the editorial while remaining refreshingly wearable.
*Tom Ford Private Shadow (also available at Beautylish) in Videotape, Vertigo, Tempete Blue and Breathless. The four shades I tried–and subsequently used in the video–are the satin burgundy Videotape, matte grey-meets-taupe Vertigo, shockingly gorgeous duo-chrome metallic Tempete Blue and incandescent silver Breathless. With luxe packaging and excellent color payoff, the Private Shadow singles are the quintessential makeup bag companion. I am beyond impressed and eagerly anticipate trying more shades in the coming days!
*Tom Ford Eye Gloss (also available at Beautylish): Ultra-reflective and decidedly non-sticky, this clear formula instantly creates a durable dewy eye look.
*Tom Ford Mascara in Spike Lash, Full Screen Lash, Shutter Lash (Spike and Full Screen used in the video): These new mascaras feature three distinct brushes to achieve a variety of custom lash looks…you’re mascara wardrobe has never looked so good.
Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Snobby: A dazzling iridescent pink with a plush texture that wears beautifully over nude lip liner…I’ve had this consistently in my purse since August.
Bottom Line: I sincerely hope you took as much delight in watching this video as I did in making it! Working with these gems from Eyes of Tom Ford Collection,Sappho, Girlactik and Oribewas immense fun as they effortlessly resonate with the festivity of the month.
