I hope you had a glorious Christmas, dear readers. After an unprecedented weeklong break from writing, it feels marvelous to return to Beauty Professor with brand new launches from MAC as well as a relaxed winter beauty and style look that works well with the post-holidays, end-of-the-year downtime that fortuitously makes an appearance in late December.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the collection in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Rife with warm neutrals and extremely flattering lip colors, the *LE MAC x Patrick Starrr Collectionis a delightfully wearable range of pigment-rich formulas that blend together in beautiful harmony.
Each possessing a quartet of hues in lush and buttery neutrals, the *MAC x Patrick Starrr Eyeshadow Palettescome in two shade options: the daytime-esque Glam AF and slightly rosier Goalgetter (my favorite…worn in the images at the end of this post).
The adept mix of velvety matte satin and shimmer finish colors can be used wet or dry and their notable texture glides onto the lid, effortlessly building to full opacity.
Specific shades and additional details courtesy of Nordstrom:
Glam AF Palette includes: – Brule (soft creamy beige with a satin finish) – OMIGAUD (soft pink peach with a frost finish) – Saddle (golden orange brown with a matte finish) – Embark (intense reddish brown with a matte finish)
Goalgetter Palette includes: – Amber Lights (peachy brown with shimmer and a frost finish) – Soft Brown (soft golden peachy brown with a matte finish) – Swiss Chocolate (muted reddish brown with a matte finish)
– I’m Into It (dark red brown with a matte finish)
If you are lip color lover, it is safe to predict that you will adore the offerings in this collection! The *MAC x Patrick Starrr Lipstickcomes in a quintessential spectrum of pinky nude, rosy brown and vivid red shades with coordinating *MAC x Patrick Starrr Lipglass for extra impact:
She Betta Werrrk: A plush neutral pinky nude
Mamastarrr: A warm rosy brown
Patrick Woo: A classic red cream
Additionally, there are three *MAC x Patrick Starr Lip Pencils that deliver versatility and punctuation to the pink, brown and red color palette:
Edge to Edge: A rosy mid-toned pinnk
Mahogany: A rich russet brown
Brick: A molten red
I am particularly smitten with the She Betta Werrrk lip mix as it creates a gorgeous pinky nude lip that masterfully performs on a range of skin tones and if you are drawn towards a crimson lip, Patrick Woo is insanely delectable. It’s also worth noting that all nine hues possess formidable color payoff and comfortable, long-lasting wear!
THE COMPLETE LOOK: Lush and hydrated skin makes the perfect base for soft neutrals and two drastically different lip colors.

// SKINCARE ETC. //
*Biologique Recherche P50 1970(reviewed HERE): I have nearly finished my PIGM 400 version of this cult classic and am excited to now work my way through the original version; each time I sweep this over freshly-cleansed skin, my face feels smoother and tighter (in a good way) and my visage looks brighter. Believe the hype.
*Clé de Peau Beauté Le Serum(also available at CdPB and reviewed HERE): A single pump drenches my skin in anti-aging hydration while lifting and refining with daily use. Truly exquisite.
*Tom Ford Radiant Moisture Souffle(reviewed HERE): This winter, I cannot seem to get enough of this moisture-rich formula which is a second line of hydration for me during extra dry days. It feels incredible and gently illuminates, leaving skin dewy and fresh.
Byredo Mojave Ghost(reviewed HERE): Equal parts musky, floral and creamy skin scent, I have almost finished my bottle of Mojave Ghost…it’s divine.
*Playa Endless Summer Spray: A couple of sprays on my hair instantly adds touchable texture and fullness…oh, and it smells marvelous.
*SK-II Mid-Day Essence(reviewed HERE): True to its moniker, I love a spritz of this to set my makeup and also to refresh my face halfway through through the day.
Base, face and eyes.
// BASE, FACE + EYES //
*La Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation in Satin Nude(reviewed HERE): Still ranking in my top three foundation formulas, Satin Nude is my perfect match for creamy, even coverage that lasts the entire day without touch ups.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze + Blush(reviewed HERE): I am over the moon that this summer release is now available on the Charlotte Tilbury site. The brown-tan bronzer works well to sculpt light and medium skin tones and the rosy blush delivers a slightly glowy flush that is extremely buildable and flattering.
*Wayne Goss The Holiday Brush: This whisper soft brush is the perfect antidote to those of us who may be heavy handed with blush application. Ever heavy handed with blush, this whisper soft brush is the perfect
*Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand(reviewed HERE): I recently rediscovered this incandescent highlighter and simply adore it; I sweep it along my upper cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose for a truly natural-looking, lit-from-within glow.
// STYLE NOTES // Extreme comfort with a luxe overcoat touch.
White graphic tee: A fresh graphic tee adds a bit of color to an otherwise neutral color palette…some other excellent tee options HERE.
Ragdoll LA Velour Sweatshirt: I have this super soft number in three different colors…size up (I wear a M or L in this particular cut) for a drapey look that layers beautifully.
Cutout leggings: I wear black leggings a few times a week in the winter and this sleek pair with cutout embellishments is a fun twist on a classic. Similar options can be found HERE, HERE and HERE (btw, these Spanx leather look leggings are as incredible as the plethora of reviews say they are! True to size, I own the black version in a size S.
Nike Air Huarache Print (reviewed HERE): One of the most comfortable pairs of sneakers I own, I am thrilled that they are still in stock.
Vince High Collar Long Wool Blend Coat: I have been wearing this nonstop since picking it up on sale a couple of weeks ago…this timeless piece runs large (I have it in a small), and is surprising lightweight for being so warm. I have a feeling I’ll be relying upon it a great deal when in Paris next month!
The red Patrick Starrr lipstick looks great on you. Also, I totally agree with all your raves about the la prairie foundation! It's expensive but so worth it- I'm so happy with the way my skin looks when I wear it. I try to go back to other foundations but nothing compares.
