As a beauty writer, it brings me great joy to discuss new launches…the industry is rife with innovation and gorgeous fusions of style and substance, making my job a undeniably satisfying. That being said, sometimes it’s just as fulfilling to share products that I reach for frequently during the week to create a quick and reliable beauty look that lasts the day. Perennials, if you will.
Today’s post is dedicated to 15 product perennials that you will wear for the entire year, along with some fresh additions and a peek stunning at recent launches from Sisley-Paris. And, since we’re in the midst of a sale-laden holiday weekend, I also created a curated list of shopping suggestions for five of my most-frequented retailers.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as weekend shopping suggestions and the Bottom Line…
Base + Face.
// BASE + FACE //
*Sisley-Paris Instant Perfect Perfecting Skin Corrector: A newer addition to my routine, this clear multitasker gently blurs the appearance of pores and fine lines while looking like nothing on the skin. I like to apply to my t-zone to keep unwanted shine at bay and, much to its credit, it can be applied invisibly over makeup for a mid-day touch up.
*Suqqu Frame Fix Moisturizing Solid Foundation #203 Warm Bisque (reviewed HERE): I have used this foundation 1-2 times a week every week since getting it eight months ago. Creamy and moisturizing yet incredibly lightweight and long lasting, it is–in my experience–the gold standard for medium to full coverage solid foundation. A little goes a long way (I’ve hit pan on my first compact but still have a month or two left, as well as a compact on backup) and, when blended out with a dampened beauty blender, the effect is incredibly natural. I am an exact match in #203 Warm Bisque (equivalent to @N/NC 25-27) in all Suqqu foundations (the brand’s shade to formula continuity is commendable) and this particular version ranks as my very favorite as a near perfect base option.
*Sisley-Paris Concealer #2 (reviewed HERE) applied with the *Jenny Patinkin Domed Multi-Blender Brush: This apricot-toned concealer (which is also brimming with skincare benefits) always brightens my orbital area without the slightest hint of conspicuousness. Resistant to creasing yet somehow opaque, it’s simply marvelous and even works under the surface to lessen the cause of under eye darkness. Years after first trying her eponymous line, I still use the *Jenny Patinkin Domed Multi-Blender brush with every concealer I use as it blends products into beautiful oblivion, turning the most pigmented concealer into a second skin.
*Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate LE Runway Collection(also available at Nordstrom): A quick search on my blog will confirm that I have been talking about the cult-classic Shade & Illuminate since for well over five years. I have gone through two compacts and recently received the limited-edition version, which is housed in a reflective metallic case. I focus application of the creamy and blendable true brown in the hollows of my cheekbones and along the perimeters of my face to gently sculpt and add warmth. The luminous pearl tone imparts a fresh and dewy effect that excels on upper cheekbones, Cupid’s bow and down the bridge o the nose. Often imitated, in this case, the original is always the best.
Tom Ford Illuminating Duo in Reflects Gilt (reviewed HERE): I am on my second compact in this particular shade combination and continue adore the way it creates a beautiful rose gold sheen in a single pass. I use it on the high points of my face (to highlight) and also on my cheeks as a soft blush…when in a rush, it even performs well as a wash of color on the upper eye lids. So glad I have one more on backup as I have a dreaded hunch this won’t be around forever.
*Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek Brush (reviewed HERE): This brush touches my face every single day. The super soft, non-shedding bristles (I’ve used mine daily for over 3 years and it’s still in perfect shape) deposit and blend cheek color to a second-skin sheen better than anything I’ve ever tried and I’m grateful to have one in my bathroom and one in my makeup bag, guaranteeing that it will continue to be the only brush I use each day of the week. Worth it.
*Lancome Custom Glow Drops in Champagne Glow (also available at Neiman Marcus): I deeply appreciate the versatility of these creamy drops; they can be blended into foundation for punctuated luminosity or blended atop foundation for a radiant glow. Keep reading for a closeup on all four shades.
*Aerin Hibiscus Palm Body Cream: An immediate way to channel the warmer months ahead, this nourishing cream captures the senses as brilliantly as a sunny day while masterfully moisturizing one’s limbs.
Close Up: Slightly thicker and creamier than a traditional liquid highlighter, the *Lancome Custom Glow Drops(also available at Neiman Marcus) possess the capacity to bronze, highlight and strobe with the deftness of an alchemist. Because they are so pigmented, a drop or two is all that is necessary to add depth and dimension to the face and the blendable radiance looks extremely natural, rather than shimmery or glittery. I used the palest Champagne Glow on the high points of my face for a lit-from-within effect and look forward to playing with the deeper shades in the future.

Eyes + Lips.
// EYES + LIPS //
Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Shadow Duo in Golden Peach(reviewed HERE): I am on my third jar of this brilliant eyeshadow (with two more on backup in my stash); consistently in my makeup bag, this incandescent peach neutral instantly brightens the eyes and acts as a stand alone wash of color (allowing me to do a full eye in under a minute) that is neutral enough to complement many skin tones. With extremely long lasting, crease-free performance, I cannot recommend Golden Peach enough!
Sisley-Paris Phyto Ombre Glow in Gold(reviewed HERE): Luminous and pigmented, this radiant eyeshadow works well on its own for a classic golden eye and layers beautifully (in the images at the end of the post, over Golden Peach) to enhance other shades. It’s a true eyeshadow work horse.
*Hourglass Brow Gel in Soft Brunette (reviewed HERE): A perfect solution for full and feathery brows with excellent definition, all I need is two strokes of this new formula and my brows are good to go. Soft Brunette effortlessly matches my deeper ash brown brows.
*By Terry Lash Expert Twist Brush Mascara (reviewed HERE): I have been lauding this exceptional mascara since last month when I first tried it in Paris and still am indubitably smitten. Two coats are all that is necessary for a false lash effect that must be tried to be believed. In terms of application, I first use the brush set at volumizing and then twist it to lengthening and my lashes are unrecognizably lush. Get this…you won’t be sorry.
Sisley-Paris Phyto Lip Twist #10 Sugar(reviewed HERE): I am on tube #3 of this quintessential baby pink…hydrating and pigmented with immense lasting power, I hope to never be without this as it is (when topped with the below CdPB Lingerie) my default go-to lip when I need to create a pretty and glowing look in seconds.
Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge #11 Lingerie (reviewed HERE): Fabulous color payoff in a reflective nude peach, this shade is truly special. It’s neither too light nor too dark and the gloss/lipstick/stain effect is singular in the beauty world. Start with the lightest #11 Lingerie and I guarantee, you’ll want to try more.

Onto a preview of the Sisley-Paris S/S 2018 beauty launches:
New launches in the Sisley-Paris base family.
For Spring 2018, the *Sisley-Paris base family has expanded; it, of course, includes the radiant *Instant Eclat (also available at Neiman Marcus and reviewed HERE) as well as two new color correctors–*Instant Correct (also available at Neiman Marcus) in pink and lavender hues. Designed to perfect the canvas, invisibly and weightlessly, the pale pink 01 Just Rosy works to illuminate and brighten dull complexions while the 02 Just Lavenderoffsets excess yellow undertones, lending to a pristine porcelain canvas. I can’t wait to continue to experiment with all three in the coming days.
Next, the *Sisley-Paris Phyto Kohl Star Sparkling Waterproof Stylo Liner (also available at Neiman Marcus) offer the most indelible effect in a single swipe. Resplendent in five radiant shades and three velvet cream matte shades, this super smooth formula is housed in a retractable stylo that even has a tiny sharpener (should you desire a precise tip) on the top. Brilliant! In terms of performance, once set, these liners do. not. budge. With a wearable spectrum of colors and formidable lasting power, I predict these liners will be on my eyes frequently this spring and summer.
For lips, there are four new shades of the *Sisley-Paris Phyto Lip Twist Matte lip color (also available at Neiman Marcus), including a resplendent nude pink that has been on my lips nonstop for the past week. This ultra-pigmented formula is creamy, hydrating (especially for a matte) and long lasting, simultaneously performing like a luxe lipstick and lip treatment that’s well worth the pursuit.
Shades include:
19 Ballet: A tender peachy pink that will flatter a spectrum of skin tones…my logical favorite in the mix.
20 Drama: A bold purple-tinged oxblood…can’t wait to put this on my lips.
21 Ruby: A classic neutral cherry red. Bright and radiant.
22 Burgundy: A warm brick-infused red for a naturally flushed look.
From L-R: 19 Ballet, 20 Drama, 21 Ruby, 22 Burgundy.

Style notes.
// STYLE NOTES //
Ragdoll Vintage Mesh Tee: I am thrilled that this twist on a classic black tee is still available. With front mesh detailing and an easy fit, it’s wardrobe must have.
Ksubi Chlo Jeans: I still wear these high-waisted jeans at least once a week as they have a structured yet relaxed vibe. Refreshingly, there are no holes whatsoever…the edginess comes from the raw cut hems, instead.
Neiman Marcus Cashmere Leopard Cardigan: Draped over my purse (and worn earlier in the day), this super soft sweater works well with neutrals, delivering a dash of energy to any outfit.
Chloe Sandals: Although the ones that I am wearing are sold out (I bought them last spring), I am am linking to this season’s version…neutral with a comfortable block heel, they are the shoe of spring.
Burberry Giant Tote: I use this large and luxe (and reversible) tote as a work bag/purse combination…it’s sturdy yet lightweight and holds everything imaginable.
A strong dose of sunlight and weekend shopping suggestions.
Beautylish: No sales to speak of, but Beautylish has one of the best spectrums of product offerings in the beauty industry. A few hero launches that I strongly suggest include brand new Omorovicza Acid Fix (it smoothes, plumps and brightens overnight with no irritation…must be tried to be believed), the incredibly versatile Visert Tryst Palette (rosy neutrals with massive color payoff–coming up on BP) and the By Terry Game Lighter Palettes (entirely exquisite…reviewed HERE).
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this perennial product overview, Sisley-Paris preview and weekend sale mini shopping guide. It’s always my true pleasure to share what’s new and in heavy rotation at BP headquarters ; )
What is on your list? Do tell!
Good things ahead, including a LE fragrance from Le Metier de Beaute, elements from the soon-to-launch Tom Ford EXTREME Collection, a beauty story showing the new Sisley-Paris pieces in action, another beauty look tutorial and a host of new product procurements. In addition to a steady stream of unpacking, I’ve got a lot of beauty writing to do, no?
Have a magnificent holiday weekend and much more soon,
