Like a ray of sun following rain showers galore, the latest pieces from Violette’s capsule collection with Estee Lauder–appropriately named Oh Naturelle!–have arrived, delivering a decadent wash of warm and effortless color reminiscent of a summer vacation on the French Riviera in the 1960s.
Today I am excited to share an overview of the new releases as well as a full beauty look involving the best swimsuit I’ve found for the warmer months ahead!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the collection in action as well as the Bottom Line…
The press mailing came in a darling bucket bag reminiscent of simpler times while at the same time feeling very modern. Similar bags can be found HERE, HERE and HERE.
The Oh Naturelle! Collection is awash with soft blush tones in satin packaging that blends classic femininity with a very wearable neutral color palette that is sure to flatter a spectrum of skin tones.
Up first is the *Estee Lauder Violette Oh Naturelle! Eyeshadow Palette. The color story is unequivocally nude with plenty of pops of color–from peach to rust to rich matte black–to build impact and intensity. Smooth and buildable, the shades glide on and resist creasing for eyes that feel as effortless as they look. Fantastically slim and streamlined, this palette has endless potential and will work well for both day and night, making it an apropos choice for everyday and travel looks alike.
Brimming with a lush array of matte and shimmering powders, the multipurpose*Estee Lauder Violette Oh Naturelle! Face and Eye Paletteinstantly brightens the complexion. The formula of each shade is finely milled, buttery and blendable and the fact that they can be worn on face and eyes with equal efficacy further enhances this gorgeous palette’s value. The matte shades include a right peachy pink and rich mahogany tan (excellent as bronzer…worn at the end of this post) and the shimmering shades work well as neutral highlighters and eye colors to bring out a sun kissed tone that is subtle yet undeniably pretty.
// THE FULL FACE // An even canvas featuring products the perfect the face while still looking like real skin and nude lips in a spectrum of texture.
Base and Face.
// BASE and FACE // Stick foundation and magical powder for a fresh complexion that lasts all day.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter #4: I still use this daily as a lightly tinted glowing primer; it gives my special something that heightens dimension and radiance. That’s probably why I am on bottle #2!
Tom Ford Foundation Stick in Dune: This shade is the perfect match for my current spring to summer skin (@NC 25-27) and the formula is a classic…buildable coverage with a skin finish that stays put.
Marc Jacobs Accomplice in Medium 33(reviewed HERE): Just a swipe of this highly pigmented concealer banishes my under eye darkness without creasing. I love that this diminutive stick can be used to touch up my entire face throughout the day without taking up precious real estate in my handbag.
*Sisley Blur Expert Powder(also available at Neiman Marcus and reviewed HERE): I used my trusty Sisley Retractable Kabuki Brush to distribute a light layer of this powder all over my face; as its name implies, the translucent formula blurs pores and fine lines without the slightest hint of a powder finish. Simply genius!
BY TERRY Lash-Expert Twist BrushMascara: Two coats in the lengthening setting and two coats in the volumizing setting and I have a false lash effect that resist flaking or smudging.
// PEACHY NUDE LIPS on HEAVY ROTATION // Four different textures and opacities, all in the pinky nude family…I consider them cousins.
Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge in #11: I’ve written about this perfect shade countless times over the years; the formula is equal parts liquid lip color, lip gloss and stain and the tone is a gorgeous melange of peach and nude. So good.
Guerlain Matte Lipcolor 01: I purchased this new nude and it’s customizablecase in Rosy Nudeafter a single switch at the counter. The beige pink nude has plenty of opacity and a velvety finish that is surprisinglymoisturizing for a formula that has the word “matte” in its title. I love it so much, I picked it up for my mom for Mother’s Day as well!
Dior Lip Maximizer in Beige Sunrise: The least pigmented of the four but also the most plumping, this delicate gloss has massive volumizing properties and a fresh nude beige glaze of color of which I cannot get enough.
// STYLE NOTES // A utilitarian summertime outfit worth its weight in gold.
Topshop one piece: I was first attracted to this suit because it is the most sublime shade of green. Thankfully the substantial fabric and flattering fit make this the swimwear steal of the century (currently on sale for under $40!), especially because it can also double as a body suit with high waisted shorts or jeans (as shown in the images above and below). I am generally a size 4 but sized up to a 6 and it fits perfectly…get this (it also comes in other colors) before it’s gone!
Striped Buttondown: Easy and versatile, I have at least 5 of these men’s shirts in my rotation as they can be dressed up or down and never go out of style.
AGOLDE Dee Denim Shorts(also availableHERE): In a previous post, I mentioned that I love these shorts so much that I purchased 3 pairs in varying sizes (27, 28 and 29) and wear them constantly. The high waist is looks great while being very comfortable and the length (not too long, not too short) is excellent for a variety of activities.
Nike Air Max 720: My dear and stylish brother gave me these tennis shoes for Mother’s Day and I am over the moon for their futuristic aesthetic and extreme levels of comfort. It truly feels like you’re walking on air-filled pillows…I am generally a size 7-71/2 and a 7 was the right fit for me in this particular style.
Good things ahead, including a fresh video (do you prefer a tutorial or a beauty chat? Let me know in the comments!), an end of spring FOTD and a host of new product procurements…cannot wait to share!
