A little stopover at Walmart when on vacation two weeks ago (I forgot my exfoliating gloves!) yielded a triplet addition to my lip color collection…I just couldn’t resist the pastel colors and creamy shine of this formula!
From L-R: Cotton Pink, Sheer Linen and Merino Mauve.
Retailing for $9.99, the Colour Caresse lipstick line is ultra-light, smooth and glossy. The texture feels moisturizing (and not the lightest bit sticky) when applied, but I don’t get the same hydration effect as if I was wearing a lip balm or moisturizing plumper like RBR Devlish Nectar (which I sometime use as a base for this lip color).
Cotton Pink is a light cool bubblegum pink with some shimmer…excellent color payoff with just one swipe.
Sheer Linen is a medium nude with no shimmer…definitely the darkest of the three (similar to By Terry Terrybly Nude) but also the sheerest.
Merino Mauve is a milky pale pink with subtle shimmer…can be applied easily without a mirror to add an instantly lovely glow.
These lipsticks are sheer but quite pigmented.
The lasting power is medium…I found it needed to be reapplied every few hours which is no problem for me since I enjoy the act of adding more lipstick throughout the day. The shine is pronounced but not overly-glossy and the color seems to wear evenly. Overall, a beautiful drugstore option.

Bottom Line: At $7.49 each (I got mine on sale), these little gems are a steal…I don’t find them to be the most moisturizing lipsticks in the world, but the color payoff, smoothness and sheen are brilliant. Definitely worth a try!
