Quick Beauty FOTD: An Effortless Look with Tom and Charlotte

New shades from Tom Ford.
Ever since Tom Ford quietly launched new lipstick shades in both the classic and matte lip color formulas last month, I have been slowly and deliberately adding fresh hues to my collection. Today’s post is focused on three of the new shades in the pinky-neutral family as well as key products–including the brilliant *Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Smoky Eye Beauty–to collectively create a quick and effortless look that lasts the day.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…
From L-R: Heavenly Creature, Paper Doll and Bad Lieutenant.
The instant that they surfaced on the Nordstrom site, I ordered Tom Ford Heavenly Creature Bad Lieutenant and Paper Doll sight unseen. Although they may appear to be similar shades in their respective bullets, their distinct shade personalities develop upon swatching.
Heavenly Creature is a light peachy nude with a matte texture that still leans creamy. It is paler than First Time (reviewed HERE) and will work well on fair to light skin tones seeking a flattering, true 1960’s lip effect. It is a touch too light for me currently, but should be perfect by dead of winter. In the meanwhile, I will use it to “nudify” lip color shades that are too dark.
Bad Lieutenant is slightly deeper mauve-tinged nude that is chic and sophisticated. When I saw it in the bullet, I was concerned that it would be too dark for my personal preference, but I’m delighted at how wearable it is. I will be recommending it to anyone seeking a fresh foray into Tom Ford nude lip color.
Paper Doll is my unequivocal favorite of the trio. The cool rosy shade is the quintessential depth for a baby pink lip–not too light, nor too dark–and the creamy color payoff is divine. If you love light pinks as I do, then Paper Doll should possess a necessary place in your collection!

*Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Smoky Eye Beauty
I’ve also been heavily relying upon the versatile *Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Smoky Eye Beauty (reviewed HERE) as of late. The neutral hues blend like a dream, creating an balanced canvas that reflects a veil of fawn, brown and dusty rose, with a touch of glow for good measure.

To make the essentially matte eyeshadows more luminous, I like to buff a bit of the iconic Bar of Gold highlighter (step 7 in the palette) atop the shadow; it creates an ethereal look that still is entirely appropriate for a daytime look.

As aforementioned in my initial post on Smoky Eye Beauty, the two cheek color options are true standouts in the palette. The neutral pink blush and coordinating glow tones enliven one’s complexion, delivering a subtle wash of color that looks incredibly natural.

All, in all, this palette is a utilitarian must!
