Summertime is almost here…I feel like I have been chanting this mantra for weeks now but the destination is clearly in sight as I wrap up teaching late next week! With the extra meetings, grading and banquets associated with the season, I have been struggling to look awake; I am a firm believer, however, that less is more when it comes to makeup choices that feign the “rested look.”
Here is a peek at how I attempted to achieve this objective today…
Products Used:
- A touch of Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge #2 (reviewed HERE) and By Terry Cellularose Lumi-Serum #01 (reviewed HERE) mixed together and applied with fingers as a moisturizer, illuminator and primer.
- Jouer Age-Repairing Perfector in #4 Natural and #5 Sand (swatches and review of both shades HERE), buffed on with a dampened Beauty Blender. I forgot how much I love this unscented, skincare-enriched, cream-based foundation…it yields medium to full coverage, remarkable lasting power (even in heat!) and a skin-like finish that is clean and dewy looking…just gorgeous!
- Armani Sun Fabric Bronzer #100 as a contour and bronzer…this pale tan shade is the perfect shade of light brown for a convincing warmth on the face. I apply this super quickly with a dense, slightly fluffy face brush.
- Armani Cheek Fabric Blush in #503 Daybreak…a near duplicate of the now-discontinued Armani Sheer Blush #10 (reviewed HERE), this dusky pink/peach/beige hybrid adds a subtly believable flush on the cheeks.
- Jouer Powder Eyeshadow in Maple (reviewed HERE and HERE)…applied damp with a small eyeshadow brush, this rich bronze brown stands alone as a stunning wash of color. Maple is often sold out and I wanted to mention that Pecan is a great option as well…it is a touch lighter but still a very pretty mid-toned bronze. I added a bit of Jouer Cream Eyeshadow in Chiffon (reviewed HERE) with my ring finger along my lower brow bone and upper cheek bones and blended it out for a luminous glow on the high points of the face.
- Surratt Beauty Relevee Mascara (reviewed HERE and HERE)…I apply two coats of this insanely good formula daily; it’s that good.
- Mirenesse Lip Bomb in #8 (swatched and reviewed HERE)…this pinky peach nude offers full coverage opacity and a lasting finish that feels incredible on the lips. This is my favorite shade in this particular formula!

I am thrilled to hear that you are loving the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick! What shade are you? It is such a marvelous formula and truly worth the investment, no?

Hi BP
Lovely look with lovely products! I asking your advise on a truly long wear eyeliner for definition on the lower lashline- Everything I've tried migrates within an hour even with some extra powder help – from Armani to UDecay long wear I cannot find one that really works- any recommendations would be helpful xx
Hello and thanks! With regards to your question, I have some suggestions: I love the Marc Jacobs Hi-Liner in Blacquer for my lower waterline and I adore the Surratt Beauty Smokey Eye Batons…the pencil line stays in place and there is an eyeshadow side to set it for hours. Finally, I love the NARS Larger Than Life Long Wear eyeliners…Via Appia is a gorgeous plum brown that truly doesn't budge.
I hope that helps…xx,

I too believe this is one of my favorite looks! I think it's the skin & bronzer combo! Online the Armani bronzer in #100 looks so light, but it looks the perfect shade on you. I believe my skin is tad lighter than yours; might have to order!
Hello Anon!
Thank you! The Armani Bronzer #1 is incredible…it is pigmented, has a soft texture and is a lovely light brown tan. It is definitely not too light!
xx and let me know how you like it,

Lovely! Your skin looks perfect–I am also on the hunt for the perfect canvas! xo.
Thank you, Blondie! Definitely not perfect…just good foundation and good lighting ; )

Hi Dearest BP,
What a flawless look you achieved, well rested indeed. I have recently started using the Jouer Age repairing perfector which is lovely, I think I have to invest in a beauty blender to apply it though because I have been using a brush or my fingers.
I think the next on my list will be the eyeshadow that you used as the colour is exactly my style.
I love the bronzer you used and I will be looking into that as well. I currently use Nars Laguna which I sometimes love and sometimes think looks a bit dirty as a contour so am definitely on the lookout for another bronzer.
I have the Mirenesse lip bomb in that colour as well and love putting it lightly over another lip colour.
I have been loving your blog lately with an ever growing wishlist of products
Take care and talk soon.

Hi Julie!
Oh my…thank you so much! Isn't the Jouer Age-Repair foundation incredible?! I adore it's ability to instantly perfect the skin. Combining it with the application power of a Beauty Blender will make it that much more amazing.
Love that we share a mutual affinity for so many of the same products…great minds think alike ; )
Thanks, always, for the encouraging words my friend!
xoxo to you and your beautiful family and talk soon,
