Mikey Castillo and the New LMdB Palette at Neiman Marcus…a Quick Peek!

Above: Hello Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills…good to see you again!

I spent some quality time at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills last week and serendipitously ran into the perpetually delightful and ever charming Le Metier de Beaute Director of Color, Mikey Castillo.  As always, our visits are filled with a mutual love of makeup…this time, he had in his possession, the latest LMdB Eyeshadow Palette for Spring 2013!!

Although time did not permit for me to swatch each shade, I can attest to the fact that it is all sorts of lovely…Mikey describes it as a “greatest hits collection” of sorts, since it is comprised of past and currently existing shades, all nestled together in one sleek, remarkably portable compact.

At first glance, I quickly identified the stunning rich black from the Nouvelle Vague Kaleidoscope and the gleaming warm amber from the Bauhaus Kaleidoscope.  There are also plenty of variations on blue and green to “Springify” your eyes looks!

Above: I adore the way in which Mikey is cradling the palette, like a beautifully crafted newborn, ready to be presented to the world ; )

Keep your eyes peeled for the official release of this palette; I’m told it will retail for a very reasonable $95…the color possibilities yielded by this gem are utterly endless!

    Hi Professor,

I really like the palette. I do not currently own any LMdB, but will have to keep an eye out for further reviews & swatches. By the way, I purchased the hair dryer you reviewed a little while ago–love it! So powerful.

      Hi Raw Almonds,

Lovely to hear from you! I wish I'd had a chance to swatch it, but alas, only so much time in the day ; ) I am thrilled to hear that you love the hairdryer as much as I do…thanks so much for the update!!

Ooh! Thanks for thank you early look. 🙂
Do you know how big the pans are? Anything close to 26mm? They're definitely smaller than the standard LMdB shadows.

      Greetings, BooBooNinja!

My pleasure! The pans are indeed smaller than the typical LMdB shadows…I would say that they are somewhere between and nickel and a quarter in approximate size. Obviously my command of the metric system is slightly lacking ; ) I hope that helps!

      Warm regards,

Tee hee! I threw 26mm out there because that's the size of a MAC eyeshadow.
      Thanks 🙂

Love it! I actually just looked at the palette again last week and can confirm that each shadow pan is the size of a nickel. I'm still not sure how many millimeters that is ; )

I'll be doing a follow up post with all of the shade names and color charts done by Mikey Castillo later on this week!
