Sneak Peek: Le Metier de Beaute Dark Orchid LE Kaleidoscope

Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscopes are magical…one streamlined, architecturally-advanced compact that houses four tiers of shades, ultimately comprising an infinite array of looks.  They’re utterly brilliant (I adore Carnaby Street)!  Consequently, I am excited to announce that LMdB is giving away the limited edition Dark Orchid Kaleidoscope (a $95 value) with a purchase of $250 or more at LMdB counter during the Neiman Marcus Camp Gorgeous Beauty Event which runs from June 5th-June 15th.  It is likely that this LE wonder will go quickly so call ahead to a Le Metier de Beaute counter near you to reserve yours in advance and tell them the Beauty Professor sent you… ; )

Kindly scroll on for all the the details, shade descriptions, a host of images and the Bottom Line…

I must confess this kaleidoscope was love at first swatch…truly, each and every shade in the compact is breathtakingly stunning.  The eye base is phenomenal (LMdB Director of Color Mikey Castillo calls it “a sheer, pearlized nylon stocking”) and the powder shadows feel so silky that I initially deemed them a cream formula!  This is the first time that LMdB has included a dual sided cake-eyeliner in a kaleidoscope tier, which further adds to its intrigue and overall allure.  Each shade is deeply pigmented and truly easy to work with…from the eye base, to the eyeliner, the overall effect is beyond gorgeous!

The application is one of reversed Couches de Couleur…instead of beginning at the top, one would be wise to start at the bottom with the eye base and move upwards towards the liner for maximum efficacy.

Above: This primer is a neutral light beige cream that adds a radiant effect without the usage of obvious shimmer; from a pragmatic perspective, this is a magnificent primer that keeps shadow in place and creaseless for hours on end.

Above: Mocha Sheen is an ultra-pearlilized light brown taupe with immense light-reflecting ability; it is similar to Corinthian, but brighter and more vivid.

Above: Rich Orchid is a glowing magenta plum; it is similar to Alexandrite/Fig but brighter and more magenta.

I started by applying the eye base all over with my ring finger…it blends like a dream.  Then, I covered my lid (to the brown bone) with Mocha Sheen and placed Rich Orchid in the crease, blending outward for depth and dimension.  I used a wet eyeliner brush to sweep the black cake liner along my upper lash line and then used the same brush to apply the Plum-Orchid liner along my lower waterline and lash line.  I finished my lower lash line with a touch of the Mocha Sheen for radiance and continuity.  The whole process took me less than five minutes!

Bottom Line: The Le Metier de Beaute Dark Orchid Kaleidoscope is hypnotically beautiful and the shades artfully translate from day to night and and season to season with flattering ease…Mikey Castillo outdid himself with this gem!  I am in earnest when I say that this is destined to become a timeless classic.  Highly recommended!

I hope your weekend has been lovely thus far…good things ahead on BP in the month of June including my May Favorites video,  top lightweight foundations for summer, a plethora of new lip and skincare products and a few style posts.

xoxo,

      Hello Shelly,

It sounds like you have some wonderful LMdB purchases ahead…one simply cannot go wrong with anything Peau Vierge! I also suggest the Creme Fresh Tint in Mystique (so perfect for a subtle pink glow all summer long). I know what you mean about the kaleidoscope…the colors sound dramatic but they are actually so wearable! In these photos, I am wearing the Omorovicza Complexion Perfector in Medium (to be featured in my May Favorites video this week!). It is an exquisite, light feeling formula for casual days ; )

Thanks for the sweet words…xx and talk soon,

    Hi, Professor!

It's been a little while since I've commented but I'm always reading – thank you for such a steady stream of information and beautiful looks. The LMdB palette is beautiful – but….your foundation steals the show in these shots – it's perfect…what is it?!

We've all come to rely so heavily on your foundation expertise – particularly for those of us who wear similar shades to you. I've been searching everywhere for the Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Cream Foundation based on the strength of your recommendation but Natural Beige is sold out online at NM and Bergdorf…dying to get my hands on it!

Good to hear from you, Suzy! Thanks for being a loyal reader, comments or otherwise ; )

With regards to your question, I am wearing the Omorvicza Complexion Perfector in Medium (discussed in my latest video–May Favorites). It has lovely natural medium coverage and works for NC 23-27 skin tones.

I pledge to continually be on the hunt for excellent foundations and share my findings on this blog…it's a quest I take seriously and I am glad that it continues to be helpful for my readers!

If you can't get your hands on KS Natural Beige, you may want to try the Omorovicza or the CdP Cream Foundation in O20 (also fully reviewed on my blog!) as alternatives…both have wonderful, medium to full, slightly dewy, long lasting coverage.

Hope that helps…take care and do keep me posted…xx,

This is just so gorgeous on you. I adore the looks you shared! I was able to pick up mine today from my local Neimans, I can't wait to use it, Le Metier designed an incredible palette. I wish they would release more kaleidoscopes (non-exclusive ones).

      Hi Ana!

Thank you! I highly suggest tracking this down if you are serious about getting it because it is LE and once it's gone, it's gone ; )
