December: A month of much reveling and very little sleep! That precarious ratio, without a doubt, can take a toll on the orbital area and today I am thrilled to be sharing an freshly-released antidote to the fatigue sustained within one’s eyes, complements of the venerable Mila Moursi line (also available at Beautylish and SpaceNK and reviewed HERE and HERE). I have coupled this newfound freshness with a few novel beauty finds (including foundation!) that create a polished wintertime look.
The Mila Moursi Triple Action Eye Contour Cream is genius. Housed in an airtight tube to keep active ingredients at their full potency, this formula is instantly hydrating and the metal applicator tip adds a cooling sensation that is positively revitalizing!
Thicker than a gel but lighter than a traditional cream, the texture is soothing and absorbs immediately; the scent is incredibly light and doesn’t irritate my perpetually sensitive (thanks, allergies and contact lens) eyes.
Designed to tighten, brighten and lift on contact, I am finding myself using this cream both morning and night for added reinforcements. Although I don’t battle major dark circles, my compromised sleeping schedule has definitely created some bags and this cream has made a difference. I like to apply a bit with the cooling tip, then use my ring finger to gently tap it into my orbital area.
Like everything in the Mila Moursi line, consistency is emphasized and valued over the promise of instant results and so I shall continue to use this regularly and weigh back in next month. So far, however, my mom and I are both loving our experience with this formula!

- Edward Bess Flawless Illusion Transforming Full Coverage Foundation in shade Medium…this fragrance-free foundation is a solid cream with instant medium coverage that is effortlessly buildable to full coverage. As soon as I saw it on the Neiman Marcus website, I knew that I had to try it and I am certainly glad I acquiesced to my whim! I prefer to apply this with a slightly dampened Beauty Blender for the most seamless coverage and I would deem this a natural skin finish…it is neither dewy nor overly matte but it does take on a slightly radiant look (which I don’t mind at all) over the course of wear. It banishes the look of pores and fine lines without looking like a mask and feels comfortable and breathable while boasting magnificent longevity. I am smitten, indeed!
- *Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint in Zinnia blended with my ring finger onto the apples of my cheeks. This gleaming medium pink offers a just pinched look with a slight glow…so uplifting and natural!
- *Le Metier de Beaute Indelible Eye Prism in Lurex…a golden light bronze with subtle luminosity, this easy to apply (hello, doe foot!) eye shadow makes for a beautiful wash of color over lids; it is also creaseless and incredibly long lasting. In the images that follow, I blended it on my upper lid and along my lower lash line for a warm, slightly shimmering effect.
- *Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Gel Eye Liner in Sequoia…a rich and creamy brown (read: not quite matte, but no shimmer) in one of the smoothest formulas on the market, this eyeliner glides on without tugging and stays in place for hours For the look below, I applied a touch on my lower waterline and focused the majority of my attention on the upper lash line to create a softly smudged winged line.
- *Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss in Reckless Bloom…Ahh…there is just something about a new pink lip gloss to lift one’s spirits. Estee Lauder had been captivating my attention lately with its gorgeously high-performance releases and this latest formula in the lip color range does not disappoint. Pigmented, hydrating and long wearing without feeling particularly sticky, this gloss offers a mirror like shine that adds volume and dimension to the lips. Couple that with a subtle vanilla scent that is alluring without being overpowering and this gloss isn’t leaving my handbag any time soon!

hi rachel! i have to tell you i was like fred flintstone sliding down the dinosaur yelling yabba dabba doo when i left work tonight. i have tomorrow off and i don't come back until monday!! i don't have any exciting plans. in fact, i'll probably be working on my student's assessments and portfolios…still i'm happy to just be at home. i was thinking of edward bess, wondering where he is…. :D. that foundation looks awesome as well as everything else you posted. i really like those eyeshadows in a tube. estee lauder? well, if it's good enough for the kardashians and you like it then, i need to take a look at my local counter. that lipgloss looks very pretty. i was at nordstrom, on my lunchbreak yesterday (what else do i do for lunch), looked at spring chanel collection and felt like i was having a panic attack! aside from a pretty blush, this is not the most wearable collection at least for me. i always buy their whole spring collection. the estee lauder counter is 2 spaces down. merry, merry christmas fabulous rachel!! thankyou for bringing me lots of happiness reading all your wonderful posts and videos!! i absolutely love you and i hope you have the best holiday ever!! xoxo wendy.

I definitely know that "yabba dabba doo" feeling ; ) Yes, the Edward Bess line has just a handful of fresh and seasonal releases (the rest remains in the permanent collection) and I was so excited when I saw this foundation online. It is truly excellent and I even gave some as gifts this year. The eyeshadows in the tubes are by Le Metier de Beaute…they are silky and pigmented and don't budge once they set1
The new Chanel collection is breathtaking but I agree…the colors are a bit too bold for my taste as well.

I want to buy a good eye cream and you've featured two by la prairie and blue diamond from omorvicza as well as this one by Mila moursi…can you tell me which you recommend the most or if one excels in some way? Thanks for the sweet words! Your question is a tough one as I use all three eye creams frequently. Here are my observations thus far:
The La Prairie is a classic cult favorite; it is expensive but extremely popular amongst skin care enthusiasts and I have used the most of this formula over the past year. Just a tiny speck is enough to hydrate and lift the orbital
The Omorovicza is a fabulous natural option; the ingredients are the most organic of the three formulas and the serum (it is more liquid in nature than the La Prairie) does an amazing job of hydrating. There is, however, a slightly herbal scent that might be an issue for those with very sensitive eyes. Mine are quite sensitive (I wear contacts) but I can handle the scent in this formula.
The Mila Moursi is the most liquid in nature and also the most affordable. It has an airtight container and unique cooling applicator and is also the most travel-friendly. I have been working with the formula for the past 3 weeks and will need more time before an official weigh in but so far I love using this in the day and also as a mid-day refresher and the La Prairie at night for an ultra nourishing treatment…especially as we are running our heater right now!

Thanks for the question. I was in such a rush to get this post up that I didn't get a chance to do comparison swatches etc. of the new Edward Bess formula. Here is what I can say so far: the Medium shade is a lovely light-medium neutral beige (similar to MAC N/NC 25) and I have found that the Light (to be swatched soon) is close to MAC N/NC 20-23. Both shades are very neutral (not too pink or yellow/golden, more of a true beige. There are also Fair (lighter than Light and Medium), Tan and Deep shades but I haven't yet swatched them.
