What I packed for a week away.
A few days ago, I returned from a beautiful week away at the Hotel Del Coronado where my husband was attending a national meeting in his industry. To avoid amassing a plethora of bags, packing for myself, a 9-month old and a dog requires a wealth of prudence!
Today, I am excited to share the key products that took me through our travels, including a glimpse at a brilliant toiletries bag discovery, an overview of the *Keyvn Aucoin Glass Glow Collection and a first look at the new *Sisley-Paris Blur Expert Powder.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

Four products for me, three for baby Johannah…sometimes streamlining is achievable!

*Clé de Peau Beauté Enhancing Eye Contour Cream Supreme (reviewed HERE)

Still my eye cream of choice, this cushiony and ultra hydrating formula absorbs on contact and works to  banish fine lines while brightening and depuffing the orbital area.

*Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream (reviewed HERE)

I use two pumps day and night and my skin has never been better…as I’ve said before, believe the hype.

*La Prairie Platinum Rare Cellular Life Lotion (reviewed HERE)

A opulent serum that detoxifies, tightens, brightens and transforms, it’s luxury well worth the pursuit. I’ve been using it nonstop for the past two months!

*Necessaire Body Lotion (reviewed HERE)

Fragrance-free and deeply nourishing, this gorgeous cream has become a regular part of my routine. It delivers impressive moisture while feeling weightless.

Mustela Gentle Cleansing Gel: Mustela is a key part of Joey’s babyhood; the delicate French scent is beautiful on delicate skin and this particular formula is shampoo and body wash in one for a seamless bathing experience.

Bumbo Floor Seat

This baby accessory was such a good investment…it’s like a portable high chair (for feeding) and safe place to settle Joey (there are belts that can be fastened) wherever we may be.

Robeez Maggie Moccasins

Joey gets compliments every time she wears these adorable shoes; the leather is super soft and flexible and the moccasin stays put all day.

// THE TRAVEL BAG //

One look at the Dagne Dover Large Hunter Neoprene Toiletry Bag and I was instantly smitten. This neoprene (read: what wetsuits are made of) number is sturdy yet lightweight and holds a wealth of products while remaining remarkably compact. There are two removable pouches that enhance interior organization and additional built ins like brush holders and side pouches…it’s abundantly detailed for toiletries bag and I was able to fit in all of the makeup that I needed for the trip with ease. I need to plan another trip so I can use this again soon!

An even canvas with a touch of sun-kissed radiance and a dash of natural flush.

Vita Liberata Beauty Blur Skin Tone Optimizer in Latte Light

Upon the recommendation of a makeup artist friend of mine, I picked up this glowing face formula that also adds a bit of self-tanning action and am very glad that I did. I like to apply a pump all over my face directly following moisturizer; it yields a touch of color and soft glow that minimizes imperfections and  makes skin look amazing. Additionally, after a few hours, a more pronounced glow develops…it’s summer dream skin in a tube! For reference, Latte Light (which is what I chose) is excellent for N/NC/NW 25-N/NC/NW 30 skin tones.

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation Balm (reviewed HERE)

Still one of my favorite foundation launches of the year, this provides glowing medium to full coverage that doesn’t require touch ups…it must be tried to be believed. I brought 5-6 foundations on this trip and never ended up deviating form this particular formula.

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Concealer #6 (reviewed HERE)

The creaseless liquid texture is easy to work with and blends out seamlessly, especially in the pernicious under eye region.

Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra (reviewed HERE)

I brought but one bronzer on this trip and Terra took care of business! This true tan tone sculpts and contours while adding a natural warmth to the face…it’s divine.

*Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duo in Lissome (reviewed HERE)

Two blush tones in one compact? Yes, please! The radiant mauve-meets-beige and lively pure pink look gorgeous separately or together on the apples of one’s cheeks.

*Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face Liquid Highlighter in Bronze Spectrum and Crystal Clear

Strategically placed on the high points of the face, this formula truly makes skin look like glass. **Keep scrolling for a comprehensive review and swatches of all available shades.

*Sisley-Paris Blur Expert Powder

I had the privilege of previewing this powder with the Sisley team a couple of weeks ago in Venice Beach and have been using it ever since. This revolutionary formula–which is translucent and designed for all skin tones–is veritable filter for the face. The velvety power looks like nothing on the skin while somehow blurring the look of pores and making the skin look magnificently even. It can be used to set make up and also serves as an expert touch up formula throughout the day. I can’t wait for you to try this!

DESCRIPTION

Blur Expert is an exceptionally fine, perfecting smoothing veil of powder that illuminates and beautifies the skin due to ultra-high performance makeup key ingredients. – The “Light matte HD complex” ensures an equally matte and ultra-luminous finish. Enriched with an ultra-pure, flawless mica and an ultra-smoothing high-tech powder, it allows for excellent light reflection for a very natural, perfect skin result. – Cutting-edge key ingredients ensure perfect make-up for optimal wear, perfect adherence, and color match. Its transparent and ultra-light texture melts into the skin and creates an enhancing veil for a second-skin effect with a very natural result. No powdery finish. A transparent, universal shade that complements all skin types.

RESULTS

Beautified skin for a flawless finish. A perfect skin effect. A fresh and even complexion. Illuminates the complexion naturally while remaining invisible. Acts instantly, like an “Instagram” filter: • Visibly smoothes wrinkles and fine lines • Smoothes skin texture • Reduces the appearance of pores • Blurs imperfections • Mattifies

USAGE TIPS

Use with a large brush* to apply all over the face. For more coverage, focus on the areas that need blurring. May be used on bare skin, on its own, or after a primer for a luminous, fresh and natural result. May be applied after foundation to perfect the make-up. May be used during the day for touch-ups to mattify, smooth, and beautify. *Sisley powder brush or retractable Kabuki brush

Sisley-Paris Retractable Kabuki Brush

This makeup bag-friendly brush works so well with the new Sisley powder…it’s not new but new to me and I don’t know why I waited so long to buy it! The dense bristles are soft and deposit the perfect amount of color every single time.

*Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek Brush

I use this brush multiple times a day…it’s really all I use for bronzer and blush and I’ve had it for years. Troy Surratt created a masterpiece with this gem and I wholly recommend it, especially for those of us who only want to use a modicum of brushes.

*Keyvn Aucoin Glass Glow Collection
The *Keyvn Aucoin Glass Glow Collection (also available at Beautylish) features coordinating face and lip formulas (also available at Beautylish) that impart the most exquisite radiance on the face. The sheer and non-sticky gossamer balms feel fresh and emollient on the skin; they highlight without obvious shimmer, resulting in skin that looks bouncy, healthy and hydrated rather than the slightest bit glittery.
I love tapping just a touch along the high points of my face for multidimensional skin that looks lit-from-within and the coordinating glosses–which look amazing over lip color and equally fetching on their own–are plush and incandescent. I can’t wait to continue to experiment with the trio! The Glass Glow formulas come in three shades:
  • Crystal Clear: Iridescent pearl with muted blue radiance.
  • Prism Rose: Tender baby pink…this looks incredible on the cheeks.
  • Spectrum Bronze: Warm golden bronze for a subtly burnished effect.

An extraordinary post, unsurprisingly.x I am loving the LM Nude Naturel shade with the white hot passion of 1000 suns. Yet, my search will continue as it brings me joy! I wanted to share how much I adore Mustela products and we still use some of them (I turn them around on a top shelf so they don't read any "baby" reference which would, naturally, offend the kids' sensibilities. Ha! I have the "children's perfume" (?) and put it in Ava's hair and just love it. x Sending love, Catherine P.S. Hugs & kiss to sweet Joey! I can't wait to meet her one day!
