Determining (and then committing to) a daily skincare routine can be a daunting process…worthwhile skincare is usually a significant financial investment and regular usage is essential to confirm product efficacy. For the past month, I’ve been using three products from the Sunday Riley skincare line that have streamlined my skincare experience:
Juno,
Cashmere SPF 30 and
Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer. Retailing for $105, $125 and $48 respectively, my choice to purchase these items was the result of careful research and deliberation. At this point, I am beyond pleased with my newest routine and find that these three products are keeping my face balanced, moisturized and protected. Read on for a detailed explanation of my process and close-up review of each product…
I start my day by cleansing with the
Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water (reviewed
HERE) on a cotton pad. I am on my third bottle of this wonder liquid and my loyalty has only increased with use. Then, I follow with one half of one pump of the
Juno Transformative Lipid Serum. This is a great “entry-level” product in the Sunday Riley line because it can serve so many purposes: moisturizer,
radiance booster and anti-oxidant treatment just to name a few. It has a delightful scent (a hybrid between extra virgin olive oil and a fragrant herb garden) and a smoothing effect. Once it is rubbed in, my skin appears moisturized rather than oily and is ready for my next skincare step.

Daily sunscreen is a must in my book. Whether I am indoors our outdoors, I have built a habit of applying it first thing in the morning to prevent potential sun damage. Finding a suitable sunscreen, however, is a bit of a challenge. While physical sunscreen can go on thick and leave a dreaded white cast, chemical sunscreen has its own caveats (lately, I have read a variety of articles on the dangers chemical sunscreen). I was immediately interested in the SR
Cashmere SPF 30 for a host of reasons; reviews I’ve read on the product hail its ability to provide impeccable physical sunscreen protection (actually closer to SPF 50) while avoiding all signs of heaviness and white cast. Needless to say, I was curious. I have found that applying this step of my morning routine is an enjoyable one. Cashmere smells fresh and decidedly
non-sunscreen like and is instantly absorbed into my skin, leaving no trace residue behind! While it is absolutely the most expensive sunscreen I have ever used (this makes Shiseido, Clarins, Chanel and Laura Mercier sunscreen–all of which I have used–seem like a bargain), its ability to supremely protect and balance my skin makes this a worthwhile investment and the 1.7 ounce bottle will thankfully take me quite awhile to empty.

The final product in my routine is a single pump of the SR Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer in Medium. I have already done a comprehensive review of this primer HERE, so I will make this brief. This product provides the perfect canvas for foundation application (lately, By Terry’s Cover Expert swatched and reviewed HERE and HERE). Its light, sheer and nourishing properties add a lovely glow and ensure that my foundation will stay put all day. I do recommend shaking the bottle before application to properly mix the contents…the tint and essential oils can separate, so agitating the container will keep this occurrence to a minimum. All-in-all, this primer beautifully prepares my skin for foundation, but it can also be worn alone for a very sheer wash of color, even complexion and balanced skin tone.

Final Thoughts: My experience with these three Sunday Riley products has been a positive one thus far; I love that I am only applying three skincare elements in the morning…this is both time-saving and rational (I hate layering more than a few products before foundation…it just feels like overkill!) and since I only have to use a pump of each, I envision these products lasting me four to six months, which makes the initial financial output a bit more tolerable.
