Hourglass 1.5MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner…Precision at Its Best

Above:  Hourglass 1.5MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner…the smallest, creamiest, most formidable eyeliner yet!
When it comes to eyeliner, I require three key traits: rich pigment, a smooth application and an indelible finish on the trepidatious territory otherwise known as the waterline.  Delightfully, the freshly-released Hourglass 1.5 MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner (available at Sephora and Hourglasscosmetics.com this minute and Barney’s New York, Bergdorf Goodman and Net-A-Porter and Space.NK, beginning August 15th) fulfills this criteria with ease! This slender pencil glides over the tiniest, most sensitive areas of the eye, yielding an obsidian-black line that truly stays put.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the Hourglass 1.5MM Eye Liner on the eyes as well as the bottom line…

Above: The power of tight lining on the upper and lower waterline; it just makes the eyes “pop.”  I am purposely not wearing mascara in this image so that you get the full, unfettered effect.
Above: Tightlining with the 1.5MM, no mascara whatsoever.
Images Below: I added a couple of coats of mascara to finish off the look…truly a minimal amount of eye makeup overall; the Hourglass 1.5MM makes a big impact!

Bottom Line:  The Hourglass 1.5MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner (available at Sephora and Hourglasscosmetics.com this minute and Barney’s New YorkBergdorf Goodman and Net-A-Porter and Space.NK, beginning August 15th) is the quintessential accoutrement for tight lining and applying eyeliner along the waterline.  For this reason, it is worth it’s weight in gold!  I have been enjoying wearing this daily while on vacation in an extremely hot and humid climate; it is so powerful…my waterline maintains its jet black accent for hours on end.  Highly recommended!
I hope your weekend was lovely…in the midst of travel and working on responding to all of your questions and comments with less than stellar Internet speeds ; ) Please bear with me…more soon ; )

I love your blog! I have read a lot of it but never commented. Is the Hourglass pencil really worth the $45 for three? What makes it so much better than another cheaper pencil that you can get more than 60 uses from? If I use it every day that's just two months. It looks great on you!

      Hi Karen,

Thank you! I am so glad you decided to comment on this post. I find that the Hourglass pencil is indeed worth the investment because it truly stays on the waterline (both upper and lower) without smudging and, because the tip is so very tiny, it glides on without irritating my eyes (I wear contacts…severely nearsighted!). I know it it's a lot, but there are very few pencils out there that deliver these results so effectively! What do you teach?

      xoxo,

Thanks for your reply 🙂 I am also subscribed to your youtube channel and like how down to earth you are. I also appreciate your vocabulary, haha–I'm subscribed to a lot of very very young beauty gurus and sometimes their use of English gives me hives!

I teach English and am also a department chair with fifteen teachers in my department. I'm a bit older than most people obsessed with beauty (I'm 43), but I take really good care of my skin (which is another reason, besides our shared love for nude lips, that I love your blog–great skin care reviews).

I have a blog also but it is quite lame and nowhere near as sophisticated as yours. I used to blog back when I was trying to have children and that one did quite well; eventually I closed it because I was getting recognized. I would much prefer to be recognized for having a lovely beauty blog 🙂

You are simply gorgeous and I hope you have fun on your vacation! I will consider getting the Hourglass pencil…thanks for your review!

      Hi Karen,

My pleasure! Hope our week is off to a wonderful start. Thanks for your kind assessment of my videos! It is always a challenge to keep them as succinct as possible ; )

You teach English as well? How fantastic! Love our mutual affinity for nude lips!

Let me know the name of your blog and I'll take a peek…thank you, again, for your lovely feedback and enjoy the rest of your summer.

      Take care and talk soon…xx,
