Happy August to you, friends. From the moment I heard that Pat McGrath would be launching foundation, I eagerly awaited its arrival. Her product are gorgeously executed and consistently exquisite!
COLOR: I went into Sephora to color match myself in the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundationand found Light Medium 14 to be a spot on option as Medium 15 and Medium 16 (other close options) oxidized too dark and peachy on my skin after a few minutes. Light Medium 14 is a balanced medium beige with soft olive undertones and those in the NC25-27 range will likely find great success with it.
TEXTURE: The foundation is extremely light and liquid in texture. It feels weightless and comfortable on the skin and seems to let my skin “breathe,” even in a warm and humid environment. It is fragrance free and has played very well with my sensitive canvas (no irritations/reactions whatsoever!) and the fluid formula seems to suspend over skin, blurring fine lines and discoloration I the process.
COVERAGE: The formula boasts buildable coverage and I apt to agree with this claim. One pump gives me sheer coverage and two effortlessly builds to a seamless medium coverage that still possesses a natural skin finish that takes on a satin effect as the day goes on. Truly my skin looks better in this foundation after a few hours of wear…it’s fresh, multidimensional and radiant without spiraling into oily territory.
LASTING POWER: I am floored by the longevity of wear of this foundation. Each day that I wear it, I never reach the point of needing a touch up! I even tested it at my brother’s wedding last week (see pics HERE and HERE) and it wore flawlessly in extreme heat (a wildly sunny rose garden for the ceremony) and humidity (100% committed to the dance floor where sweating was inevitable) for 12+ hours.
OVERALL: I am every bit as pleased with the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation as I anticipated being! It performs beautifully for hours on end–even in sunny, warm and humid weather–and makes skin look its absolute best. At $68, it’s pricy, but my experience with it thus far compels me to deem it an absolutely worthy pursuit and investment. I am confident that I’ll be wearing it nonstop for the rest of the summer!
Hourglass eye product heaven.
I have used the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow (initially reviewed HERE) constantly since its launch last year and am over the moon that new shades in this formula were recently launched. Nothing gives the luminous and nearly wet effect quite as well as these eyeshadows and their lasting power is commendable. Fresh to the lineup include the silvery rose Ray, warm bronzy gold Burnish, duo chrome khaki Vivid and rich berry rose Rapture…all four shades are breathtakingly beautiful and wearable and I have been reaching for Burnish (worn along side Rapture in the images at the end of this post) daily since receiving it.
Boasting a diminutive tip that mimics the fine strokes of a brow hair, the newly released *Hourglass Arch Brow Micro Sculpting Pencilis another brilliant brainchild of Hourglass. Retractable and pigmented with incredible lasting power, this pencil is excellent for taking brows to the next level while still lookingcompletely natural. Soft Brunette (swatched below) is my best match.

// THE FULL LOOK //
*Graydon Face Glow: I applied one pump of this nourishing, hydrating and radiant cream all over my face to moisturize and add glow to my canvas…this resplendent formula is a new discovery and I couldn’t be more pleased with the healthy and ethereal effect it imparts.
*Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Burnished and Rapture: I applied the gilded Burnished all over my upper lids and swept a bit along my lower lash line for continuity. Then, I blended a bit of Rapture in the crease for additional impact…the combination–which resists creasing for hours on end–is a warm rosy neutral dream come true.
*Hourglass Lash Curler: To add a bit of lift to my lashes before mascara, I used this stunning curler…it curls without pinching and the results are beautiful.
*GrandeDRAMA Mascara: I am stunned by the last boosting properties of this new mascara! I am an ardent fan GrandeLASH and GrandeBROW and love that this formula has similar lash nourishing ingredients while bathing them in rich black pigment that volumizes and lengthens in two coats. Resistant to flaking and smearing, this mascara is so very good.
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk: My daily lip liner go-to…it simply works with every lip color imaginable and makes lightly overlining a mostly covert operation.
*Au Naturale High Lustre Lip Gloss in Slip: Perhaps the most perfect my-lips-but-better shade available, the fact that this gloss contains ingredients that are 100% completely clean and green catapult this gem into a permanent position in my handbag. Moisturizing and delightfully non-sticky, this formula is endlessly shiny and looks incredible in a single pass. Get this…you won’t regret it.
Chiffon Dress: I ordered this on Amazon and cannot believe that this glorious dress is under $26. I am am wearing a medium and it’s a perfect fit with plenty of movement and flow. It’s an utter steal that looks and feels much more expensive!
Birkenstock Arizona Icy Metallic Slide in Stone Green: I haven’t owned a pair of Birkenstocks in years but was so transfixed by the gorgeousluminous green of this particular pair that I took the leap. As is the case with most Birkenstocks, they require about two days to break in and fully form to your foot but once they do, it’s like walking on clouds and now I cannot stop wearing them. I am between a 7 and 7 1/2 and picked up a 37…they fit perfectly.
Finally, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost over…prices will go up on August 5th so just in case you’re ready to shop one more time (or even for the first time), my original shopping guide can be found HERE, with a follow up HERE and I just compiled a mini list of the most versatile pieces in style and beauty that I’m loving and using that are still in stock:

Love the dress, I noticed on the link it is tied on the side, does it lay right tied in the middle?
