Youngblood Pink Lust Lip Color

Youngblood lipstick in Pink Lust, shimmering in the sun.

I recently had the opportunity to try some products from the Youngblood cosmetics line and, after having sung the praises of their Natural Mineral Loose Foundation (discussed HERE), continue my reviews with an close up look at the YB lipstick in Pink Lust.  Described as a “sheer moonlit pink” and retailing for a very reasonable $19, this shade possesses some very unique qualities lending to its overall appeal.

Let’s begin with this lip color’s formula…infused with essential oils and vitamins, it is designed to keep one’s lips hydrated for hours.  Its lack of lanolin or fragrance also adds to its inherent value in my book!

Pink Lust in direct sunlight.

On to the color and texture…Pink Lust is indeed pink; it also has complex shimmer that warms the shade to a light-medium pink, lending it marvelous opacity for a color that at first swipe seems quite sheer. The texture itself is remarkably smooth, shimmer and all, and I like the how light it feels once applied.  It is more like a veil than a heavy cream lipstick but still yields a pigmented effect that lasts 3-4 hours.

Pink Lust in the shade…still brilliant!

The moisturizing properties stemming from the quality ingredients of this formula are palpable.  I have lips that are prone to dryness and I found that this lip color did not make my lips dry at all (which, in my experience, is rather noteworthy for a high shimmer product!).  It truly feels like a silky balm that just happens to be a lipstick…genius.

Pink Lust alone on the lips.

Me wearing Pink Lust…it truly does add flattering, glowy color to the face.

Bottom Line: Youngblood lipstick in Pink Lust does not disappoint.  From its silky texture and smooth opacity to its healthy ingredients and shimmering oyster rose cast, I am thoroughly pleased with my selection!  It is a flushed pink shade that will effortlessly take me from summer to fall and I cannot wait to try other colors in this collection.
