Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Balm Powder #4
For complexion, I want to put the *Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Balm Powder #4 on your radar. This fascinating formula somehow blurs away pores and mattifies while imparting a wash of very natural looking color and a slight glow. I’ve never tried anything like it and continue to find new ways of using it by itself, in tandem with foundation and even as a mid-day touch up to perfect the skin. Shade 5 is my summer shade but as I move into the cooler months (and my tan fades), shade #4 is spot on.
Anna Sui Makeup Foundation Shade 15
When you’re asking more coverage, the new *Anna Sui Makeup Foundation Shade 15 is wonderful. It currently only comes in 3 shades but I found a good match with 15 medium, which is still a touch light for me but can be warmed up with bronzer. This highly concentrated formula (instant medium to full coverage with a modicum of product) leaves the skin looking bright, even and preternaturally fresh and smooth (like a porcelain doll) and it has excellent lasting power.
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer
Under eye darkness stands no chance with the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer (my match is 8). This powerfully pigmented formula contains skincare ingredients to smooth and brighten while instantly perfecting the look of shadows and orbital lines. I use just a touch and blend out with a sponge or fluffy brush to mimic the effects of a good night’s sleep.
More Beauty Products
To sculpt, the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand is the gold standard. It contours while adding a warmth and is so easy to blend out. I’ve gone through at least five tubes of it over the years. Next, the *Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Elephant offers six finely milled shades–from bronzer and blush to highlighter and setting powder–to create a resplendent look in mere minutes. The *Natasha Denona My Dream Face Palette is also a splendid option for a natural flush and lit-from-within luminosity as it contains a lush neutral rose blush and both cream and powder highlighters. For an otherworldly glow, the *Koh Gen Do Red Beauty Clear Film Stick is a brilliant option. It provides a moisturized radiance (like you just drank a large glass of water) that naturally shines without obvious shimmer…so pretty.
Products for the Eyes
The eye look I’ve been creating frequently involves the recently launched *Tom Ford Soleil Neige Palette 01: All four shades have a creamy texture and sophisticated satin finish (that does not crease!) in warm tones that are luminous and universally flattering. It’s one of my favorite TF palettes to date due its high performance ease of wear. I’ve been topping it with the *Hindash Color Fluid in Boy Tears, which is a gloriously foiled champagne hue that instantly lights up whatever it touches. Once set, it is transfer-proof with zero fallout…it’s absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend it enough! I’m also a forever fan of the Tom Ford Fiber Brow Gel in Taupe and Chestnut. I’ve tried a lot of brow gels over the years and this one is still my preferred option for color, definition and feathery hold.
For lips, the *Sisley-Paris Lipliner in 6 Chocolat is a fresh brown that works well with a neutral lip wardrobe (on my lips nonstop as of late) and, in the images that follow, I paired it with the *Jill Stuart Beauty Rouge Lip Jewel 22 Sunset Promenade, which is a punchy warm pink that instantly brightens up one’s visage. The *Hindash Lip Tone in Hush is also lovely as a creamy natural hue and it works well with both of the *Hindash Manifesto shades Call Me Peaches (a peachy beige dream) and Rest in Roses (a classic deep rose blush), which have intense color payoff and a velvety matte finish.
Hair and Body Products from Beautylish Gift Card Event 2022
In the haircare and body care realm, I am enjoying the *Christophe Robin Detangling Brush, which features flexible natural boar bristles to smooth and add shine with every pass. Also, one cannot go wrong with Slip Skinnies; although there are many imitators on the market, this 100% silk version is still the hair tie gold standard in my book. They hold hair securely without inflicting damage and on any given day, there is at least one permanently affixed to my wrist.
For the body, I recommend the new *U Beauty The Super Body Hydrator. This intensely rich formula is lightweight yet potent and bathe skin in moisture without feeling heavy. It’s firming and refining while adding a serious cloak of moisture (lasts up to 48 hours!) and a gorgeous glow.
ReFa Fine Bubbles
Finally, I wholly recommend the *ReFa Fine Bubbles. I’ve been testing this shower head for the past few months and love the four different settings that range from strong stream to ultra fine mist that creates micro bubbles for a gentle deep clean and true spa experience in the comfort of your own shower. It’s so indulgent and my skin has never been better.
Also, not pictured but definitely on my list is the new Chantecaille Lotus Collection (ships 10/25). Stunningly housed in creamy mint green packaging, this collection includes a blurring, glowing powder, a warm and radiant highlighter, an incandescent neutral rose blush and a pearl-infused peachy pink lipstick with a dazzling finish (screaming my name!).
The following images reflect many of my recommendations in action in natural lighting…
// STYLE NOTES //
I opted to keep it simple with this minimalist pairing; the leggings (wearing a small) have a flattering high waist and great compression while still be extremely comfortable and the sports bra (wearing a medium) has a perfect cut that effortlessly supports. I finished the look with some cushiony olive green Prada sandals (run TTS) that can be easily dressed up or down and a crisp striped buttondown (part of a 2-piece set).
