Six Years of BP, a Birthday Look and a Sneak Peek at the Hourglass Vanish Flash Sticks!

It brings me great pleasure to announce that Beauty Professor is celebrating its SIX year anniversary this week, which is rather advanced in the realm of blogging. Thank you for all the ways in which you’ve encouraged me to sustain this creative endeavor!

Additionally, it’s my birthday on Wednesday 1/4 (age is just a number, right?) and I am excited to share a Bell Book & Candle (one of my favorite movies of the late 1950s) inspired birthday look as well as a glimpse at the soon-to-be-launched Hourglass Vanish Flash Sticks.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

A Beauty Professor Celebration.
Face.
// FACE //
  • *Sisley-Paris Instant Eclat (reviewed HERE): I started with a dime-sized amount of this radiant primer (which I fall more in love with each day); it blurs pores and imperfections while adding moisture and glow to the skin, perfectly preparing it for foundation.
  • *Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick in Sable (reviewed HERE): A few sweeps of this ultra-pigmented foundation (a cult favorite around these parts!) even my canvas while looking entirely natural.
  • *Sisley-Paris Concealer #3 (reviewed HERE): Just a touch in my under eye region brightens everything up without creasing or caking.
  • *Marc Jacobs Beauty O-Mega Bronzer (reviewed HERE): I used my *Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek Brush (reviewed HERE) to apply this true tan bronzer along the hollows of my cheek bones, the perimeters of my face and on either side of my nose (try pinching your cheek brush to get a thinner surface area for contouring in a pinch).
  • *Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Light Wand (also available at Nordstrom and reviewed HERE): Applied straight from the sponge tip, I swept this illuminator along my upper cheek bones and also touched it to my forehead and chin (and blended, of course) for a believable ethereal glow that I cannot get enough of these days.
  • *lilah b. Glisten + Glow: I used a bit of this marvelous new lilah b. launch down the bridge of my nose for a subtle gleam; I love that this creamy highlighter (in the most delicious bronze shell) possesses major skincare benefits as well.
  • *Rituel de Fille Inner Glow Cream Blush in Desire and Lovesick: I am late to the party on these opulent blushes with impeccable green ingredients. With formidable color payoff and soft blendability, the formula looks extremely natural on the skin for a “just pinched” look. I mixed a touch of the lavender-hued Desire with a bit of the true rose pink Lovesick for a tender flush.
  • *Atelier Cologne Cafe Tuberosa: Brimming with sensual notes of cardamom, tuberose, vanilla and coffee, this alluring fragrance feels just right in the cooler months, blessing skin with a gourmand floral vibe that captivates the senses.

  • *La Prairie Luxe Liner Automatique in Nude (reviewed HERE): I defined my lips with this perfect nude beige shade that is always in my makeup bag; retractable (no need for sharpener!), creamy and long lasting, it is natural enough to compliment any lip color that follows.
  • Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviving Balm in Pink Matte #101: I followed with a dose of this new matte balm that imparts moisture and a subtle, customizable pink hue with absolutely no shine. It’s exquisite!
  • *Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Pink Straight and Plum N Get It (also available at Marc Jacobs Beauty): I finished my lip look with the newest launch from Marc Jacobs; these lush lip crayons are intensely pigmented and glide on like velvet, creating a full-bodied pout with a touch of shine and major dimension. In the look that follows, I opted for the luscious Pink Straight, which has pearly undertones that visually increase the volume of one’s lips…so genius! I can’t wait to try some of the nudes in this formula next.

*Hourglass Vanish Flash Sticks
Finally, here is a preview of the glorious *Hourglass Vanish Flash Sticks, which will launch towards the end of the month.  Housed sleek and reflective triangle wands reminiscent of the original Vanish Foundation Sticks (reviewed HERE), these creamy, ultra-blendable sticks bathe skin in pure light. The sticks come in five hues for maximum versatility:
  • Bronze Flash: Incandescent warm bronze…can’t wait to try this on my eyes!
  • Rose Gold Flash: A mix of cool pink and soft gold
  • Gold Flash: Light gold with plenty of luminosity
  • Pink Flash: Fresh baby pink with silvery undertones
  • Champagne Flash: A cool blend of silver and pale gold that looks nearly platinum on the face.
All in all, these vegan, cruelty-free and fragrance-free sticks are a modern interpretation of a highlighter with gorgeous and flattering radiance that will flatter a spectrum of skin types and tones. In the meanwhile, you can sign up for Beautylish early access to the launch HERE.
