After months of color blending and testing, I am excited to be able to introduce my latest brand collaboration– The Beauty Professor au Naturale su Semi-Matte Stain Lip Color in LA. I first fell in love with this lush and long wearing formulation earlier this year–it’s like nothing I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot–and have featured the coral Miami and cool Pink Paris in plenty of BP content since then.

It was an absolute dream to be able to work with au Naturale to create a completely safe and clean bespoke color that harmonizes soft tones of pink and peach while adding a hydrating and creamy depth along with flawless wear.

Kindly scroll for more details on LA as well as some new spring beauty, hair, skin and style selects I recently picked up as well as the Bottom Line…

// THE COLOR STORY //

As a Southern California native who grew up at the beach, some of my earliest memories involve time spent in Los Angeles with my family.  From the Art Deco spirit of Union Station, cobblestone paths of Olvera Street and bustling mid-town of Wilshire to the iconic hills of Hollywood, woodsy allure  of Laurel Canyon and lush palm-lined streets of Beverly Hills, LA is a city rich with culture, history, character and caprice.

I partnered with Au Naturale to create this universally flattering pinky peach shade to evoke the sophisticated, sun-drenched energy of Los Angeles. With ultra clean ingredients, smooth and hydrating color payoff. A dash of luminosity and a truly lasting finish. It represents an effortless and modern take on the town I’ve loved to endlessly explore, even though it’s in my own backyard.

I hope you fall in love with LA the way I did. This color is like a like West Coast sunset in a sustainably produced tube. And I couldn’t feel more grateful and blessed to be able to share it with you!

//THE FORMULA //

As aforementioned, the formula–which is lovingly and meticulously produced in small batches–is unlike anything I have ever tried. And as a rule, I am not a particular fan of liquid matte lip color. As I typically find them to be drying and flat. However, the au Naturale su/Stain Semi-Matte Lipstain  is extremely hydrating for hours on end (a minor miracle!) And my shade, LA, features a subtle pearl radiance that makes lips look full and supple.

The ultra clean formula is rich enough to be built up to full opacity in a single coat and it wears evenly. Providing me with hours of comfortable, touch-up free wear. Even when it’s fully worn off, my lips are left with a soft stain that looks healthy and fresh. It’s a truly special creation to say the least.

My LA shade pairs so well with the beautiful range of *au Naturale Perfect Match Lip Pencils, which I have swatched below for you. Depending on your skin tone and preferences, switching up your liner with LA will yield endless looks but my current favorites combinations with LA include the rosy nude Slipper and the cool purple Acai.

Stay tuned for some video tutorials showcasing the liners in action with LA. In the meanwhile, let me know which specific combinations you’d like to see!

KUSSHI bag

// EYES ETC. //

As a refresh for late spring, I felt compelled to pick up a few new eyeshadows. Namely Dior Mono Couleur Eye Shadow in Beige Mitzah and Rose Montaigne and the Chanel Ombre Premiere Long Wear Eyeshadow in Ultra Flesh. All three are luminous washes of color. Beige Mitzah is incredibly opaque for a metallic taupe. Rose Montaigne is a satin baby pink and the Chanel Ultra Flesh is a long wearing creamy gossamer peachy wonder that just may give my beloved Tom Ford Golden Peach come rare competition. All three are on my eyes in the images throughout this story.

I also was called by the decadent new Hermes Rosy Lip Enhancer in Rose Apricot and am happy to be able to add it to my always-within-reach *KUSSHI bag (full review on all three sizes HERE). This luxe balm actually has touch more color (a warm flushed tone just as the name implies) than I imagined and it feels extremely moisturizing. I love it so much, I even bought one for my mom.

Finally, I wanted to put the *LAWLESS One and Done Mascara on your radar. Launching on May 25th, this clean formula boasts an intense jet black color and next-level volumizing and lengthening abilities for a true false lash effect (check out my picture from this weekend on IG…two coats alone n my eyes!) that doesn’t, I repeat doesn’t smudge or migrate. I haven’t been this impressed with a new mascara–clean (which this 100% is) or otherwise–in a great long while. Believe me when I say, you will want to try this!

Hair Rituel by Sisley The Cream 230

// HAIR + SKIN //

Since layering my hair a few months ago, I’ve really been enjoying using my T3 Hot Rollers (reviewed HERE) for extra volume and movement. And, although they create fullness on surprising low heat, I am still exposing my hair to more heat than the past. Enter the new *Hair Rituel by Sisley The Cream 230. Which is a nourishing formula that can be applied as a pre-heat protector and/or a leave-in conditioner to detangle while adding shine and luminosity. It also adds an unparalleled soft and silky nature to my hair. And, when coupled with the *Hair Rituel by Sisley The Blowout Brush for Thick Hair, my hair is wildly smooth and ever so manageable.

I am also using a lot of the new *Oribe Bright Blonde Sun Lightening Hair Mist to enhance my natural highlights. This peroxide-free formula smells insane (hello, Cote d’ Azur!) and harnesses the power of lemon and chamomile to gradually bring out the blonde tones in light brown and blonde hair without damaging the health of one’s strands. I predict that it will be a constant companion for the warmer months ahead.

For skin, the *Medik* C Tetra Lipid Vitamin C Radiance Serum is a worthy pursuit. Packed with Vitamin C for a  more illuminated complexion. This serum glides onto skin and yields an immediate glow. While continuing to refine and brighten with consistent usage. In addition, it has a subtle citrus smell (a refreshing change from most Vitamin C serums that smell, how do I say this, not so good) and leaves my skin feeling healthier, firmer and softer while increasing overall evenness and radiance.

Ivory Polo Sweater Cardigan

// STYLE NOTES //

As an homage to the laid back California styling I grew up with, I am wearing an Ivory Polo Sweater Cardigan. And also some classic denim cutoffs. One simply cannot go wrong with a neutral sweater for spring and summer. And the collar of this one adds a timeless appeal that can be dressed up or, in my case, down.

With a naval-grazing mid-rise and distressed edges, the shorts are relaxed and extremely comfortable. I have them in two washes (blue and black). And also find them to run true to size (I’m wearing a size 27 here). Both pieces allow me to imagine that I’m living in LA in the 1960s (a fantasy come true). While also feeling entirely modern.
