Although fall indubitably is in full swing and winter is just around the corner, the sun abounds here in Southern California, and even if you’re living in cooler environs, now is the optimal time to embrace the cache of gold and white beauty we’ve come to expect from Tom Ford Winter Soleil collections.
Tom Ford Soleil Neige: My Picks from the Collection + the Best Black Pumps of the Season
Up first is the *Tom Ford Soleil Neige Shimmering Body Oil. Let it be known that, while I appreciate the intention behind most body oils, I am not usually instantly smitten with the formulas that I test (exceptions to this rule include brilliant versions from Sisley and African Botanics, however). Often the fragrance is too intense and the oil doesn’t absorb quickly enough for my liking.
That being said, the *Tom Ford Soleil Neige Shimmering Body Oil instantly captured my heart and my senses. Visually the luminosity contained within the weighty glass bottle is here magic…just enough to envelop skin in a tender glow that isn’t the slightest bit glittery. The lightweight oil (dispensed with a spray nozzle) becomes one with the skin in a few seconds, imparting a healthy sheen that makes one’s limbs look bouncy and hydrated.
The lilting fragrance, however, is what has made me an outright devotee…soft, sweet with a touch of floral musk for good measure, this is the most intoxicating pleasing TF scent I’ve encountered in a long time. I am an original fan of Tobacco Vanille and nothing ever topped that particular juice for me but Soleil Neige may have change everything! It is alluring and sensual without feeling over the top and, in oil form, it lingers on the body for hours. Consequently, consider me next-level smitten with the *Tom Ford Soleil Neige Shimmering Body Oil.
The more adventurous of the two, Soleil Et Lune, features a glowing warm ivory, radiant warm tan, lush mink-meets-taupe and luminous sea foam green in satin finishes that are finely milled and restrained while masterfully catching the light. The fresh, minimalist 1960s energy that this palette conveys is unlike anything currently in my collection.
Sophisticated and classic on every level, Soleil Neige contains a cool pearl shimmer, neutral light taupe, rich inky caviar and deep luminous brown. It’s the equivalent of a little black dress, nude heels a pearl necklace and a trench if those things were eyeshadows and combined together in a palette.
Both palettes have significant color payoff and blend like a dream…which one is your favorite?
For lips and cheeks, the range of peachy pink neutral tones is simply astounding. The dual sided *Tom Ford Soleil Glow Highlighter Blush Stick in #03 Megeveoffers a creamy (read: no shimmer) rose-peach blush with immense color payoff and a radiant bronze-meets-champagne highlighter that looks incredible on the high points of the face. The shades can be worn alone (as I did in the images it the end of the post) or blendedtogether for even more dimension and customization.
The diminutive *Tom Ford Clutch Size Soleil Lip Balmcome in four versatile shades that offer a lush wash of buildable color and plenty of moisture. Housed in signature gold and white packaging, these balms fit into the smallest of handbags while serving a multitude of purposes (hydration, lip tint and even an impromptu blush or highlight). Due to their neutrality and ease of wear, I can see myself running through each of these over the course of the winter…I may pick up a few as gifts while they’re still in stock as I think those close to me will love them as much as I do.
01 Reflection: A slightly iridescent clear to bring out the healthy tone in one’s lips.
02 Apres Soleil: A caramel nude cream
04 Paradiso: A peachy pink (lighter in depth than other TF lip formulas with the same moniker) **Worn in the images at the end of this post
05 Baie Dhiver: A breathtaking “my lips but better” rosy nude shade that is neither too light nor too dark. **Worn in the images at the end of this post
I applied a dime-sized amount of this glorious formula and buffed it out with a beauty sponge. It yields hydration, medium coverage and the most natural, no-makeup makeup look skin finish around. I’ve been a fan of this foundation since its release over a year ago, but now have found a spot-on match in #35, which is a recent shade extension. Comprehensive review, plus a look at SUQQU Holiday 2019 coming soon.
This padded headband adds just enough intrigue to a classic preppy look. Thoughtfully constructed and delightfully affordable, it also comes in an array of colors and finishes. Check out the Somewhere Haute boutique for even more!

I was at Nordstrom helping my dad look for shorts and found these jeans on the sale rack. Also, I got captivated by their high waist and tapered leg. I got them in a size 29 for an oversized look that still works without a major need for a belt (these run a bit on the slender side). I LOVE them…and they’re under $50.
I have been in search of a new pair of pointy-toe pumps and have fallen in love with these gems. Soft leather, a very reasonable 2″ heel height and extreme comfort. It called me to this particular pair and I am thrilled with my purchase. They come in a vast range of colors, are reasonably priced and fit true-to-size (I bought a 7). Now I want another pair in another shade…the nude is currently in my shopping cart.
Also, Southern California BP readers, mark your calendars for Saturday 11/16. I will be hosting a special beauty event at the Nordstrom South Coast Plaza during the Trend Show. I truly hope to see you there. Specifics to follow shortly…
